Uber has been extremely disappointing lately. I constantly pay extra to get a ride faster, and the app will say the driver is only 7 minutes away, but somehow I end up waiting 20 minutes or more. What's the point of charging customers extra for faster pickup if the service does not actually deliver? It's frustrating, unreliable, and feels like a waste of money. People depend on Uber to get to work, appointments, and important places on time. When the app promises one thing and the actual wait time is completely different, it creates real problems. Uber needs to fix this because customers should not be paying extra just to still be late. read more

Normally would take the Flyaway Bus home from LAX. But too many people, long wait lines, not enough buses. Checked out Uber and cost showed $75 for Uber X and $80 for comfort. Decided to go for it with my wife. Got to the shuttle for LAX-it ride share shuttle. That was a 15 minute wait "crammed like sardines" ride. Got to the ride share lot. Very confusing and difficult to find Uber designated area. Got to Uber designated spot. Only the $150 premium or $275 Uber Black available. Uber app had no available Uber X or Uber Share.... It felt like we were forced to take the expensive Uber types... No thanks... we took a cab instead of giving our $'s to Uber. It really ticked me off. read more

Horrifyingly unjust! I drove 12 customers in a week, put $70 of gas in my truck and 112 miles. For all my effort for a wee Uber sent me $112. I am a professional musician that made $300 - $500 a night from once to twice a week. Imagine how I felt driving and hustling all week to get $112. The wear & tear on my truck alone made it such a stupid idea and then they were taking like 60% of what customers were paying and I had to pay for gas. It made as much sense as paying $100 for a bag of potato chips. Uber quality has dropped extremely over the last year but their prices have sky rocketed. The past few months I've had constant cancellations, rerouting me to new drivers, drivers who are late, drivers who will LITERALLY be a minute away from me then take a whole random route. Today I watched the map the whole time and driver clearly had no clue where they were going, ignored my calls and messages, then blamed ME for not being outside. I was outside for five minutes already. Uber literally hires anyone now, has zero customer service line/support, and apparently doesn't even pay these drivers anything. I have used Uber for years now. About 4 months ago they started charging me $9.99 a month for Uber One which I never signed up for or authorized. After emailing them with no results. They have the worst customer service! I had to cancel my credit card for the fraudulent charges they were trying to charge me. Such an inconvenience for me. Even though my bank didn't let the charges go through. Uber still has hold on my account & I can't request a ride unless I pay them first for those charges . If you're new to Uber don't bother. If you forget your backup code or the message winds up getting deleted Customer service is at responding and isn't helpful. They'll give you the run around (here's a reset password link) and just reiterate that. No , if I could do that I wouldn't be bothering you guys, but if I click on it and do the puzzle to verify it just spits me back at the 'enter the backup code' screen. You mean the backup code that was sent out several years ago via text, not email, that probably was auto deleted as more texts arrived that backup code? If I could give you guys 0 stars I would. 9/30/24: Been 24hrs since they last saw my message and its said 'all agents are busy/will reply when available' since. How I wound up fixing my problem, in case anyone else is struggling, was going to my uber eats account and adding my phone number to that, then disabling 2fa (they sent a code to my phone) and changing the password. I was trying to add my number back to my uber account today and it was still saying too many attempts/wait later, so I'm glad this worked. Your method of getting feedback is inadequate.  My cell phone cannot switch screens/windows like a computer.  Your automated message, asking for me to leave your message/app to find a code in messaging or email app and input it, consistently tells me, when I get back FINALLY to the screen where you want me to input that code, that it is not valid. Your first driver on Wednesday never showed up.  He messaged me that he had arrived, at some trailer park.  I gave him the correct address again, and he messaged back: "Yucaipa?" which is where the pickup address actually is.  Then he just disappeared from the communication, leaving this asthmatic, disabled Senior who REALLY needed to get to the Post Office, stranded in the smoke and ash blown over from the Line Fire, far to the northwest.  Five or six contact attempts later,  I was able to get one of your drivers to pick me up half a block away,  where I had physically struggled to get to.  The second driver, Greg, was excellent, and I arrived at my destination after ONLY two hours' total wait in VERY unhealthful fire-polluted air. First driver and your app get ZERO stars. Second driver gets FIVE. Overall, that's only 2 or 3. This is NOT a reliable service. read more

How do I hate thee Uber. Let me count the ways: 1. When reviewing activities, found a restaurant charge I didn't make. Not only do I not use Uber Eats, I don't patronize that restaurant. Unfortunately the charge was over 2 months old. (Didn't catch it on my credit card statement). Uber refused to refund me. 2. Now I review activities frequently which is how I caught two more bogus charges on my bank statement approximately 2 years after #1. Someone charged rides to my debit card. I rarely use my debit card for ANY transactions so it isn't tied to my Uber account. Since the charges came right after I completed a transaction using my debit card, I suspect a vendor employee stole the information. What is interesting is that Uber must not have gotten the CVV code when the account was opened. I've since read complaints that Uber doesn't verify account information. 3. Uber indicated the car was 16 minutes away. That time never changed. After 15 minutes I cancelled the ride and had to pay 3 euros for that. 4. Our scheduled ride to the airport literally cancelled about 10 minutes before it was due. The scheduled time was 4am. It was a mad scramble to get transportation. Uber did give me a $50 credit but that was hardly compensation for the circumstances. read more

This review is only for the Uber system and App, not the drivers. I've taken eight rides so far and the drivers have all been great - Prompt, reliable, nice cars, pleasant. The App is another story, specifically in regards to tipping; the UI is terrible. Not only does it fail a lot of the time, but it's totally inconsistent when it does so. One example - I'll enter a tip amount and it will not process. No error message or anything. When I go back into the App, it says no tip entered. I get no email confirmation or message. But sometimes, it does show a tip, although it didn't actually process. Other times I get an email confirmation of an update, but the email shows no changes. Indeed I am not being charged for a tip. One thing is consistent - it always says "So and so has thanked you for the tip" even though no tip went through. I've gotten the same message literally 20 times in a row. Amazing how the driver is thanking me for so many tips that weren't received. I have to just keep trying and it will finally go through. The previous ride took until the next day to work. Next time it took over a week. I'm not sure if I found a work-around - but I finally got it to take when out of sheer frustration I tried decreasing the tip amount. How ridiculous is that? I don't know if there is some limit to how much you can tip, but it should at least tell you if that's the case. Makes absolutely no sense since the amount was the same as my previous trip and that was accepted (albeit more than 24 hours later). The worse part is Uber has apparently removed all ways to contact customer support. This is no way to run a business. I can't even contact the driver to tell him what's going on. There is only a message option in the App that is like talking to a bot. It only responds with the same answers you get from the FAQ. After a couple delayed responses, I went back into the "conversation" and it said "resolved". What? How was anything resolved? I feel really bad for the drivers because they might be getting cheated out of a lot of tips unknowingly. I guess I'll have to tip in cash, which I think is the height of stupidity. Uber is fucking horrible!! They keep charging me for rides that I did not take. I had my bank review all of the fraudulent charges and it came out to $168 this year alone. My daughter uses this service when there is no one to pick her up from school. Then I see on my account that they charged me double or triple sometimes for the same ride. note my daughter only uses this for school. I noticed two identical charges on a Sunday for the same amount that they charge for my daughter to come home from school. I messaged them about, the mistake they made, and they refused to give me a refund. I told them nobody used the service on the day in question and on my Uber account there are no such charges. I have used Uber for a specific ride/route several times. The rate various of course, depending on the day and time I request a ride. This past Saturday, instead of the common, average rate of $21, they debited my account for $74.51!! trying to reach a person for help from Uber is impossible! As a senior, disabled yet functional woman, I am furious and insulted that they attempted to rob me. Plain and simple highway robbery! I know when there is an event taking place it's tough to get a driver however there is no good reason to charge people for rides that were not taken. Wait times were 30 minutes and drivers were cancelling rides. Uber use to be a good app but they are shady as well as their drivers. read more

My niece paid for an Uber from The Magic Castle to Corona, there were 4 girls in the car (3 of which had plenty to drink, but were not belligerent). Once they arrived at my house & were getting out of the car, the driver said the front passenger had peed on the seat. However, her clothes were completely dry!!! My niece filed a complaint stating that it must've been there from the previous passenger (because it wasn't soaking wet) & our friends clothes were not wet. But the driver submitted pictures & because his record didn't show that he did this a lot, she was still charged the $80 to clean his seat. This is total BS!!! I would not recommend using Uber. Used my app on my phone for first time to get a ride for my wife. Bank immediately called me about fraud. Unlocked my card , and told them I would monitor for fraudulent transactions. Purchased 3 rides over 2 days , each averaging 19 to 21 dollars also 3 dollar tip. All to same location...then bam they want 52 dollars for same 10 mile trip. Didn't schedule trip,but app somehow did. Tried to call...no customer service number. Have to go thru chat...Ok let's chat. (By the way I'm in icu in hospital having just underwent brain surgery, and loaded up on 4 MG morphine. ) So after about 35 mins on chat the guy tells me he will have to transfer me to a specialist... What a joke!!! I tell him no , cancel any and all rides. Little while later I receive text telling me driver on the way. Texted back that ride was 1 never scheduled on my part,and 2 was canceled thru chat. Driver tells me I have to contact chat to cancel...little while later I get another text saying ride was arriving from different driver. Tell him pretty much what I told first driver. Now week later I'm having to dispute charges on bank card. Also have several fraudulent charges from the UK that have to be investigated almost 700 dollars from using Uber rides app on phone. If you're going to book an Uber trip, be prepared to experience some driver fraud. The driver will report a different pickup and/or drop-off address than you requested and thus, the pricing will be more. My driver showed up at a different address to pick me up, so I had to walk up the street to the next commercial property, to meet him. Then I'm charged a "wait time" fee for this. The driver overshoots my drop off address, and lets me out at the house next door to me. When I examine the receipt, the pickup and drop off addresses are both wrong. When I reached out to Uber support about this, they replied that it was "close enough", not to change anything. Uber perpetuates this fraud, by doing nothing about it. Let's be real accidents happen traveling can be nerve-racking, there is no good reason not one person at uber couldn't place a phone call to the driver in a timely manner.
