On Friday, October 12th at 3:48AM - Cameron - Honda Civic CW-J473 picked me and my girlfriend up The moment we got inside the car, Cameron was very standoffish. He was driving 15-20 miles OVER speed limit the entire way. My girlfriend and I didn't mention anything to him in regards his driving because it was 3AM - we were tired and just wanted to get home. About 2 miles before our drop off point, I laid my head on my girlfriends shoulder.. At that point Cameron got very loud stating, "If you're going to be doing that in my car I'm going to pull over!!" . As you could imagine, I was very confused. I responded, "excuse me??" and that is when Cameron sped up, then SLAMMED on his breaks while yelling "YOU KNOW WHAT?? GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY CAR!! GET OUT! GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY CAR!!" We get out of the car at 4:03AM in the middle of the road - no crosswalk nearby, nothing. I have made several reports on this horrible experience and all Uber has done was credit me $5 and refund the ride. We were dropped off 1.2 miles from our destination.. This is a 23 minute walk - unsafe for 2 women at 4AM. This man left 2 women in the middle of the road at 4AM, 1.2 miles away from our home and all Uber has done for us was credit $5 as if our lives were not endangered. Ubers pledge for women's safety was 100% NOT met, Ubers pledge for the safety of your riders was also 100% NOT met. Welcome to Denver Uber! I took my first Uber ride shortly after they landed here in Denver. It was a great experience. The driver showed up within five minutes, as estimated by the app. When he arrived, he greeted me by first name, had a cold bottle of water waiting for me and my guest, and the car was clean and nice. The driver did not know the area well, and I had to give cross streets for him to get us to our destination, but the ride was pleasant and the experience was great. I felt like a celebrity with my own black SUV and driver getting me around town. It is a bit more expensive than a regular cab, but only by a couple of bucks for me. And, tip is included. Abandoned - I went on Uber's site and arranged for a 5:20 a.m. ride *the day before* for a ride to the AIRPORT (COS) (i.e. SUPER important). Received an e-mail that it was "confirmed." When Iooked at the app, it said "Your ride will arrive between 5:20 and 5:30." So the next day, I'm waiting and the app keeps giving me that the ride should appear in the next X minutes. 5:30 a.m. arrives - when I have ONLY A FEW MINUTES OF EXTRA TIME - and get the message "No Drivers Available at this time." THIS INFORMATION WOULD HAVE BEEN HELPFUL AT ANY POINT BEFORE THIS!!!!! A**holes. We did the pool and there was another couple that was in the car when it arrived and they were dropped off within a mile or two of our pickup location, which was totally fine. We only needed to go about another 3 miles up the road, but then our driver drove to the complete other side of Denver to pick up two other people... and an HOUR later we made it to our destination, and that was only because we demanded that she take us to our drop off. Uber is great and fast. I like that it tells you when surge pricing is and YOU have to confirm it. Also, you can estimate how much it will cost, with or without surge pricing. Be ware that if the surge is over 1.5x then a cab would be cheaper. read more

I agree - the one star ratings are fake. I have taken Uber almost every time I go somewhere on business. The drivers have all been very nice, showed up right away, and even didn't mind that I did a bit of stopping here and there on the way. I don't understand how people can be surprised at the charge. It says right on the phone screen what the p[rice range will be. You can choose not to go if you don'[t want. I have never been in Lyft but I am sure they are fine too. This service has absolutely gone down hill. Nearly every driver wants to complain about something. They make wrong turns and fees get added for their time cuz they make the wrong turn. I can't get Uber reps on the phone unless I have spent 1000's with them. They don't give discounts like they used to. I used to get 50% off for next 10 rides up to $10 once a month and hasn't happened since corona. They dont offer pool pricing anymore obviously. There is no cheat way to get around town anymore. Biggest issues are no discounts and no ability to talk to customer service and more and more drivers are being rude to riders. What the heck Uber?!?! What's wrong with your company?!? Recently put Mom in nursing facility. She is having cognitive/memory issues. I have been given PoA to oversee her finances. Noticed a monthly draw against a debit card from Uber. Asked Mom and she has no idea. Been trying to stop charges but Uber is refusing. Besides not having a real person to talk to, any path into Mom's account requires a valid user ID, password, email account, and a phone that will receive text confirmation codes. Just a quick review. I have used Uber a couple of times now with no issues but last night after a few beers I ordered another Uber car. Unfortunately, I somehow ordered an SUV by mistake and ended up paying $60 for a usual $24 ride. Yes it was my mistake but maybe they should have some other way of selecting you ride instead of a sliding bar... I used to be all about Uber. Then their CEO had all those issues, so I removed the app from the phone. But from time to time we take rides with friends who request a car through Uber. Tonight will be the very last time I ever step foot in an Uber car. We left a cell phone in the backseat by mistake and contacted the driver 2 minutes after drop off. We had the absolute worst experience in retrieving our phone. Horrible service. We tracked the phone and ended up finding the driver an hour later who was surprised we knew how to find him. I have no car and I have been ridding taxis for the last 10 years. Recently the taxi's have been dirty. After the ride you feel that you need to take a shower. The back seats has layers of I do not know what. I have taken Uber X about 10 times. Every time the car has been very clean the driver very polite and they arrive in about 10 minutes. Also the shocker is they are cheaper than cabs. I hope it stays around. As long as they are around I will not take a taxi. This is the service industry. I am appalled with this company!! I scheduled a pickup for my mother from a support group at children's hospital for parents who's children died young and they cancelled the ride 4 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive from a driver from Denver Colorado in a Volvo S60 (VOP365) the driver's name is Diab. When I tried calling them back the automated system said that my phone number wasn't connected to my account (which I verified through the app several times). I will be deleting this app from my phone and I suggest anyone that reads this does the same. Turns out that there is NO customer service number to call for these types of issues. This company sucks so bad. First of all they have no customer support that you can speak to. I contacted them about a driver that works for them with 3 felony warrants. After 24 hours they sent me a link to another website and refused to provide a phone number to contact them. I tried to call the uber number back and it said my phone number was not 'registered' so I checked my ap and it was right there! called back 3 times same message. They sent an e mail ab out the canc fee and it was a no-reply so I could not answer it. they make sure no one can reach anyone. their ap is deceptive - they are so desperate for business they pull this kind of stunt to cheat us. Uber must be looking to hire incredibly stupid people. They have ads that pop up on other apps that state you can earn up to $1800 in your first 300 trips. Do the math. You can earn up to $6 a trip. That would be less than minimum wage, unless total trip time is less than 30 minutes, and probably wouldn't even cover a driver's cost of gas, let alone vehicle maintenance and upkeep! read more

Recently, as driver, my car insurance document was expiring, so I uploaded the up-to-date one. After I uploaded it, I found out later that the Uber support people had changed the color of my car, removed the reg, and changed my license plate !!! Even worse, after contacted uber support for the mistake they made, they (RM, JK, Dawn, etc) did not even acknowledge it, on the contrary, told me that I have uploaded the same car reg twice (I have another car). I knew very well that it is not true. They were not telling me the truth!! And told me what to do to correct it. On the normal circumstances, I would have. But I did not make the mistake!! All cars were inspected at the Uber Denver office back in Oct 2017. Uber agents checked all documents - reg, insurance, driver license, and did med check also. Uber agent uploaded all the documents. We witnessed he whole process and verified on the spot with Uber agent. Now the Uber support agents (RM, JK, ++) came back and told me that the car reg was not right ?? It is gotten dangerous and scary to trust Uber at all! This takes a bit of writing, but is honest and factual. Uber is great when it works and the price is reasonable. Problem is, that Uber does not work well at all anymore and their rates are all over the place.Worse,is it has become physically dangerous or at least "chancey" to trust the Uber drivers to be safe and on the level field mentally. I am left with the conclusion that the company does not screen their drivers for criminal or perhaps even mental issues. I would say I use Uber on average about 4 different rides a week for the last 2 or so years here in the Denver area. I have had drivers that speed at 80 to 90 on the freeway and when coming to traffic jams on freeways, the driver passed the traffic by going to the left center median strip to pass them. I was terrified he was going to kill both of us as well as others on the road. How did this guy get hired!? MORE EXAMPLES......... I found that too many drivers -easily 33% of the time- who want to talk politics and have their radio dial set to political talk radio. I don't care if it is "left" or "right" or any other political base, I absolutely refuse to discuss politics with strangers even if the driver is someone I might agree with. It's rude and totally stupid to do when you're in a service job to the public! Worse, is that many of the drivers seem a bit "unkempt", or perhaps, "edgy" and volunteer their radical violent views about politics. The whole thing gets really uncomfortable and sometimes even frightening when their views are that radical. It is THREATning! These people display very concerning mental problem type behavior. No customer should be subjected to this. MORE EXAMPLES......... I have also had drivers who seem drunk. I encounter way too many drivers who go through stop signs, holler out the window at other drivers, go the wrong way on One Way streets, etc. I had on young driver who said he was 22 and had just moved here from Oregon. He volunteered that he was pleased to live beside Costco "...because they sell large bottles of liqueur at the lowest prices." I feel it is not my concern what people do in their free time. But it is my concern when the driver sounds drunk, drives drunk, and volunteers that is a lush! As he finished saying that, he went through a stop sign. And he went right through the next Stop sign as well! MORE EXAMPLES......... I had one Uber Driver pull up to the curb to pick me up. When I opened the front passenger door to get in, he stopped me and told me because he had bags of chips, nachos, donuts and other opened packaged junk food on the passenger front seat that he was busy eating that I would have to sit in the back seat ...WITH HIS HUGE DOG! I informed him he was out of his mind if he thought I was going to get in the back seat with huge dog --like a Mastiff breed type. He told me that the dog was harmless and, (get ready for this!) it is his "EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Service dog"!!! If this guy is in need of such "emotional support" then I have to question is he is emotionally safe to drive. I emailed Uber and they replied basically saying "Tuff dog Sh*t!! He is a service dog and it is legal for the driver to have the dog with him:" WOW! That is just crazy and so rude to the customer and then rude to be told by the company that it is OK. It is NOT "OK!!!!" WTF!!! ONE MORE THING....... Is Uber actually interviewing these people!? Is Uber doing thorough back ground checks? Uber's "customer service" is basically nonexistent. Only email or app for "help" topics, but no way to actually call and communicate effectively one on one with them. It seems like Uber only has gotten worse in time instead of better and they don't care who they hire and worse, they seem to be brutally unconcerned with their customers and our safety. Before I conclude this, let's keep in mind the case in Denver last year where the Uber Driver shot and killed a passenger (in self defense, but ummm, it goes to the concern list!). After using Uber on countless occasions I will unfortunately not be back. Yes, Uber is extremely convenient and even though it's about as close to being your personal chauffeur, it's pretty much highway robbery and I will NOT stand for that. I also lowered my review from a two star review to a one star due to your lack of sympathy that your customer service rep displayed when she didn't even try to alleviate the situation. We decided to take an Uber home from downtown after having a few cocktails, something I've done countless times for a decent price. This time our ride totaled a whopping 8 miles and guess what? A bill for $96. I could have almost taken a cab from the airport and back for that price! When I contacted Uber, they explained that they send you a text explaining that our bill was going to be 2.25X the normal rate. The thing that you don't realize is that explanation is BELOW the text that states that your Uber is en route. Something that most people wouldn't even bother to look at, especially if you've used the service before and have no knowledge of this policy. So here's a fair warning to those of you who don't know about this policy, make sure to PAY ATTENTION for when they have their so called "surge pricing". I absolutely didn't know about this and if I did I would have called a normal taxi. SO UBER, now that I've seen countless reviews stating that they've had this same issue, what're you going to do about it? Because it sure as hell didn't seem like your customer service rep gave two sh*ts when I threatened to never use your service again and guess what? This was my first time using Uber and it won't be my last. I had to get from Longmont to the Denver Airport in rush hour traffic and make it in time for my flight. The Uber driver picked me up in her Jeep and quickly joined the sea of traffic. We talked almost the entire ride but I had the feeling that had I preferred to be silent, she would have honored that too. I was in the Longmont area because I was thinking about moving to the area and I was interested in my driver's point of view. (She moved to the area from Texas a couple of years ago). We made it to the airport in plenty of time for me to get checked-in. Fortunately, my ride was paid by a 3rd party so I'm not sure how much it cost but my driver estimated about $80-$100). My driver said that Uber takes 20% of their fares and the drivers keep the rest, and 100% of their tips. (Though I've heard that this is not always the case). It's an interesting system. She has a full time day job and works for Uber part-time in the afternoon. She says she signals when she's "on" or "off"and Uber sends her messages when they have nearby pick-ups. She can choose to pick them up or to deny them and let another Uber driver to pick them up. Very flexible. One can also set up a "ride-share" to split the fee if you have time to make extra stops. read more

Uber honestly sucks. I've had racist drivers, drivers that drive slower than molasses, and drivers that know how to stomp on breaks but accelerate slower than my 460 F250. They usually go to the wrong building, and almost Always start the trip before I even arrive. I've had one nice uber driver, and almost every lyft I've ever called has been super nice! Someone hacked into my app and racked up a pricy trip, and the customer service won't do anything about it. The racist guy, that commented on how If it was dark out he wouldn't have been able to see the African American men crossing the road, never turned on his GPS and took a route that didn't even make sense? The customer service refunded me 25 cents. TWENTY FIVE CENTS. Uber may (only recently) be cheaper than lyft, but I'll pay the extra five bucks for a driver that knows what their doing and doesn't drive 45 on the interstate to make that extra dollar. I took UBER with my wife from Bloomfield to Boulder and it cost $25.00 for an uberX "small car". The same distance back was 3X as much because of a "Surge" charge as it was 11 o'clock in the evening. Huh? Really. The driver DID NOT mention said surge charge when we got in his car. That is a pretty scandalous way to do business.
