Absolutely TERRIBLE communication. Everything at the beginning went smoothly - I was quoted a very good price on my job and received fast and clear responses. I scheduled an appointment for the services a couple weeks in advance. I followed up the day before the set appointment and got a sloppy response that they would "hopefully" be able to come. Whoever is replying to emails has horrible grammar skills and was almost undecipherable. I asked if someone could call me back asap to discuss my concerns and because the lack of understanding via email, and I was told NO, they would call tomorrow before they came to my house. I then asked if I could reschedule to a different day, preferably a Saturday when I could be at my house because I was feeling uneasy about the whole the whole thing. I then got a sloppy response saying NO, and that I should find a DIFFERENT COMPANY TO WORK WITH. You're really going to tell a customer who is trying to schedule your services to go to a different company?! UNBELIEVABLE. This situation is extremely unfortunate, as it looks like their services are top quality based on other reviews. But whoever is handling their customer service communication need to be FIRED because the way I was communicated with was 100% unacceptable. read more

Back in March, my neighbors hired US Tree Service to remove a tree. During the removal process, a portion of the tree trunk was dropped on MY fence (which I have on video) by the workers. Since I have a dog, I explained to them that I needed something to be done to keep her safe inside my yard and to keep other animals out. It was my understanding that this would be a temporary solution and that I would be compensated towards a new fence or that they would fix the fence appropriately at a later date. Neither of these ever happened. Instead, they put a piece of plywood up and 2 by 4s which created too much added weight causing the fence to fall several times over the next few months.(the tree trunk took out one of the fence's post). I tried contacting the company about the incident a few weeks ago and was told by the lady who answered that her brother would be in contact with me regarding the matter. However, that also never happened. To top it off, they left the portion of the stump in my yard and the lady told me to "call another tree company or hire landscapers to remove it" as if it wasn't their problem. This company damaged my property, did not adequately replace what they broke, and to add insult to injury, refused to remove the stump/roots that they left behind which resulted in me having to hire someone else to finish their work on top of installing a new fence. read more

Just used them to take down 2 trees. One tree (70 feet up about 10 feet off our house) and another about 50 feet (near power lines). Got both down in 3 hours and came out EARLY (1 hour)....Couldn't believe it! They were the cheapest of 4 quotes (I used Angies List for 3 other quotes). They had a crew out (5 guys), a mulcher, and a stump remover and got everything down without removing power lines, cables, and phone lines, which were right next to the tree. I was surprised as 2 other company's said they needed to call the power company and shut down power or remove the cable lines temporarily. I did bite my nails on a branch or 2, but these guys were 1) professional; 2) safe; 3) got the job done quickly. read more

This is a well run business that does good work at a competitive price. I called late on Friday afternoon. The guy came out on Sunday morning with proof of insurance and gave us a written estimate. Since it was moved very slowly and carefully the stump removal machine did not hurt the lawn one bit, and the cleanup was thorough. When the trees are leafed out we'll ask them to come back to trim two trees due to my wife's distrust of my artistic tree trimming ability. I'm a great believer in DIY since it always has the best price and the certainty that the work will be done right as well as the satisfaction of seeing the results of your labors. These guys are the real deal. I had their crew trim 3 large trees on my property in Lombard, IL in March 2021. They came out and quoted me about an hour after I had called for a quote request. They were able to schedule service for right away and had the job done within 3 days of quoting the project. Their pricing is outstanding. They beat 7 other quotes by at least $200 and also provided excellent service. Make sure to get a quote from this company. They went way above and beyond on their cleanup efforts and my lawn looked better when they left than it did when they started. I got quite a few estimates to take down two gnarly dead trees that were very close to both our house and pool...it was seriously a difficult job. I had an estimate within 2 hours of calling their office, and their estimate blew everyone else's out of the water!!! Because they are so busy, I did have to wait about two weeks, but for the money I saved, I was happy to do so. They showed up as scheduled and did an incredible job...fast, friendly and they they cleaned it all up PERFECTLY!! Also they are totally insured and give you a copy of their insurance coverage. Lets face it, having dead trees taken down is usually a very expensive deal and kind of a bummer to spend so much money on. But dead trees are dangerous and it just has to be done. The cost was so reasonable, that I am feeling really stupid now for all of those storms that I sweat out worried that trees were going to fall on our house! I can not recommend this company enough. I see some comments about their office being out of a home...who cares!!!? If having a home business office cuts down their costs which they pass on to their customers, why in the world would it be a problem? US Tree Service is absolutely the best of the best! If you're looking to have any tree work done, I am convinced this is the only company you need to talk to. First, they were the lowest bid of 4... by a landslide, and the customer service during the bid process was exceptional. We had 2 fairly large crabapple trees that needed to come down and the price to get rid of them with US Tree Service was exponentially lower than what the other companies wanted to just trim it down! Second, Mike is incredibly nice, professional, and fair. Although the work was a bit more than anticipated, he stuck by his bid rather than negotiate up. Mike's team rolled up with all their trucks and equipment, and 30 minutes later, the job was done! I am simply devastated by the lack of customer service I have received and want to be sure everyone knows what happened and how I was treated. First let me preface this review by stating that when I did my research and initially spoke with this company-everything was great, no complaints-everyone was friendly, professional and seemed like the perfect company to work with. So... I contacted US Treee Service because I have a large apple tree in my backyard and it is growing over the Comcast and ComEd lines. I contacted ComEd and Comcast and asked if this was something that they needed to do, they assured me that it was not and I should speak with a Tree Service. I began my quest to locate a reasonably priced company to trim the tree and remove all of the limbs from the power lines and comcast lines. I spoke with the lovely receptionist at US Tree Service and explained everything very thoroughly about the ComEd and ComCast lines and she indicated she would have someone go and leave a quote. This was prompt and reasonable. I called back to confirm and schedule the trimming and again asked if I needed to have ComEd or Comcast involed as I did not want anyone to get injured and certainly didnt want any interruption with my service.She assured me that there was no need to involve either ComEd or Comcast. Sooo. I came home from work yesterday driving past my backyard and I see this giant limb on the other side of my fence, just laying there, so I thought they must be there trimming the tree-YAY!!! I went to the backyard and , no one was there. I looked up at the tree and I saw 3 smaller limbs had been cut, however the issues were not resolved, as there were still limbs covering the ComED line as well as the Comcast line. I went inside to check my voicemail incase they had called and left a mesage about any issues they may have had and realized that I had no service. No Internet, no phone, no cable-we have the bulk package from Comcast, so if one is out usually all is out. I called Comcast from my cell and was told that there was an issue outside of the house and they would have someone over to my house the following morning at 10am (today) I went back outside and took pictures so I could show US Tree Service what happened as you can clearly see that the line is pulled down from the pole (I have them posted here) I then called the main line-and left a message for a return call. I then went to their website on my cell phone and found a cell phone number to call. I called and left another message, then I sent a text to that number. Mike from US Tree Service returned the call-he is the owners Son-I explained what happened-thats when it went bad. Mike seriously snickered and said "accidents happen, thats why we have insurance" I asked if he was aware that there was an issue when he left, he didnt answer the question all he said again was "accidents happen" I replied with-I understand that but if he knew there as an issue why didnt he call me and let me know so I could contact ComEd or Comcast. His response " the limbs are all caught up in the lines" I replied with "I know, thats why I hired your company" He didnt say anything so I asked him "Dont you have anything to say" he responded with "Im sorry, but accidents happen" I explained to him that I work from home and require internet to be able to work. He said there as nothing he could do about it and if we are charged by Comcast then their insurance would cover it to fix it. I asked if their insurance would cover the hourly rate for me since I am not able to work because of his negligence and failure to report to me that there was an issue so I could promptly resolve it. He said "I left at 4pm there was nothing that they could do today anyway"(referring to Comcast) I then really got upset and said " So you did know there was an issue and completely ignored it, you didnt even complete the job as requested and quoted, nor did you clean up properly after the work that you did do" He didnt have any response, the phone was silent and I said "I guess I will just have to wait until I hear from the Main office tomorrow" He replied with " I will tell them you called" So it is now the next morning and I have yet to hear from anyone at US Tree Service. I have left another message this morning with no response. This infuriates me to no end. My husband and I really try to work with small businesses so that they can survive, we believe that it is the right thing to do, we didnt go with a BIG company becasuse it really isnt a Major job and we felt that we would give US Tree Service and opportunity to earn our loyalty as well as or neighbors business and loyalty. Word of mouth is everything when you are a small business owner. I dont really know what more to say other than-I will not recommened US Tree Service, I will in fact tell everyone I know about what happened and how we were treated. read more
