I gave US Tree Service five stars because the customer service of Mike who is the owner was astounding. He communicated with me within 30 minutes after I made the Yelp request. He came to my house within 4 day of communication. And his quote which was $350 was the lowest out of three companies. I requested five thorn bushes and a large tree trimmed. Mike and his team were on time and it took them about an hour and half. After they were done they cleaned up and raked the leftovers. Very professional overall. One thing that stood out to me about Mike is that he was confident in the job and made me believe he knew what he was doing. I made a request on Yelp for a quote, and the team communicated with me very quickly. They sent someone out a few days later for a quote, and the price was very fair-- nearly $300 cheaper than either of the other two companies I received a quote from. We had six fairly large trees cleaned up and thinned out, and one stump ground out. They were professional, quick, and cleaned up nicely after the job. They even hauled away some brush and a large downed branch from the ice storm this winter that was hanging out on the side of my house, and this wasn't part of the original quote. Had appt for estimate at 6 pm at house to specifically review what is needed -- came home & found paper left on door stating tree trimming $950 for 2 trees -- that is NOT what I wanted estimate for. When called office asking why estimate was left when I specifically wanted to meet & review needs, very nice office person stated she does not know & will call her brother Matt. Returned to state Matt was there at 5:55 & rang bell multiple times & no one answered thus he left & refuses to return. I stated I was at house at 6 pm so why did he not wait (they already cancelled once one hour before appt) or call me. She had no answer but stated he refuses to return. If that is how they treat potential customer, wow! No attention to detail. Obviously did not take time to do a correct estimate! No care for providing good customer service. Very reasonable price and excellent communications and results. They trimmed 2 trees, plus took down a large dead limb on a tree in the parkway because is was a hazard (at their suggestion and no additional cost). One of the trees was a large maple situated tightly between two houses. I was worried that they would not be able to get to all of the areas that needed trimming, but they managed it and did a great job. I would highly recommend. read more

This has to be one of the strangest professional interactions I've ever had with a company. Which is not to say I would recommend you not use them. When all was said and done, they were efficient and did a nice job removing the tree from my backyard. But it became clear to me after reading other reviews, and speaking with the staff that the person answering the phone has absolutely no idea what the crew is doing at any given time. I called on the day my tree was removed at 9 a.m. to obtain a time window for when the crew may come. I was told between 10-11 a.m. I had my house-sitter arrive at 10 a.m. so she could be there when they finish and pay them for the job. They weren't there at 11. They weren't there at 12. They weren't there at 1. The day went on and finally shortly after 2 p.m. I called again and was told they were running late on the previous job and they were in Hinsdale. I told the house sitter to leave because it sounded like they would still be working when I got home from work. Then I got a call from Boris who told me the job was already done. Huh? I called the house sitter. She never saw them arrive or leave or anything. A few minutes later, I got a call from Mike (the owner, I guess?). He told me they'd arrived at 8 o'clock and were finished by 9:30. OMFG. As you can see there's a clear lack of communication between the various components of this company. Mike then asked me how I was going to pay. I told him I had cash and would bring it by the office. That was fine with him. I'd already made this arrangement with Boris, but clearly the two never actually speak to one another, so I don't expect Mike to know this. So I went by the address Boris gave me this afternoon. It's a house. A nice house, but still a house. Apparently this company operates out of a house in Addison. And I was only sure of this because all the US Tree Service equipment was parked on the driveway. Sadly, Mike, Boris and the gang were not available to accept my payment but Mike's mother, a lovely elderly lady who speaks exactly two words of English was more than willing to accept my payment. Except she didn't know what a receipt was. She ran into the house and got an elderly man who spoke more English than she does, and he signed off on the estimate that I was given, and took my payment. I guess that serves as my official documentation now. If you're expecting organized, you won't find it with this company. But they do seem like a wholesome bunch, and they do good work so I would still recommend you use them. Just don't sit around waiting for an appointment time because they will not give you one, will be early, or late or something and you'll waste a day waiting for them. Just let them do their job. Oh, and if you pay cash there's a discount. So there's that. read more

Fantastic! I had submitted a request for service thru yelp and within moments, I received a response from US Tree Service. Other companies took hours, days, or not at all to respond. They came out to my home and provided an estimate to remove a branch that overhangs my pool. The quote was fair. The lowest estimate I received. Their team responded quickly to my questions and accommodated me by neatly stacking the branch remains in fire pit sized pieces next to my outside fireplace. U.S. Tree Service came out today to remove a 60' pine tree. They ground the stump as well as a few more we needed. The workers did a fantastic job, worked really hard, did a beautiful job, no debris left behind. Did all of this at a really great price. After receiving numerous ridiculously priced estimates for tree removal for a few trees in my backyard I came across U.S. Tree Service on Facebook. I called them on Sunday (3/18/18), Mike returned my call the same day and scheduled an appointment for a free estimate for the next day at 9am. He was right on time, a little early in fact and gave me an estimate I couldn't refuse, I set an appointment for Wednesday (3/21/18) at 12pm. The crew stated they would need a few hours and that they would be done by 3pm. They cut down 3 trees (2 of which were massive) in total and cut down the branches of a tree in my neighbors yard that was growing in front of my overhead garage door. They cleaned up and were done by 3 pm, almost on the dot. I would without a doubt recommend and use U.S. Tree Service again. Extremely polite and professional. read more
