They don't have the greatest personalities but I don't think any one of them is there for a 'best personality " contest. Yes, they are human just like you and me; they actually have nada days. Many are just short of retirement, want to service the patron, do what's required of them and it's a lot. If it helps any you can have your mail picked up from your home. They can take care of all your USPS needs; lines are never long and the service is friendly and helpful. There is a well organized and displayed selection of used books. There are also some new books written by local authors or that pertain to St Augustine. There are many cute, unique, boutique-y gift items... from candles, wall decor, greeting cards, jewelry, lotions... the inventory changes often and with the season. They take pride in their establishment. I love mom and pop places like this. Keep up the good work. I highly recommend this place. There are not many post offices with retail windows in this town. The office is tucked away in a plaza with plenty of parking. When I got in the place had a line up of ten people. It's Christmas and people were mailing their packages. There were two clerks working. They were very cheerful and very quick to serve. Prices were marked on a display on the wall behind the counter. There were empty boxes piled up against the wall on the floor and different sized envelopes were on a rack on a wall. There was a side window where you could drop off your prepaid packages and that saved you from lining up. It's a good little post office that I'm happy I found on Anastasia Island.

It's always practically empty, so wait times are basically non-existent. They offer all the PO services and are even open on Saturday mornings (no PO Boxes here though). The employees are really friendly and helpful. Maybe it's because they stay bored and they are genuinely happy to see you so they'll have something to do. LOL Even during the rush of Christmas they wait times are practically non-existant. While the employees have changed recently, Todd is still there and is always so kind, efficient and knowledgeable. He always reckoned, which is nice. Noah, who is the absolute sweetest gem of a soul no longer works there, but had for a long time. I do miss having his upbeat, positive affirmations anytime I stopped in, he was always in a good mood. I don't know why USPS always gets a bad rap. They work as quick as they can, and a line out the door is not their fault. People choose to ship their stuff very last minute, during holidays, and I know I'm grateful they can get my stuff to the destination on time. If I have to wait, it's of my own fault. The employees don't get treated the best all the time, but we must remember to be kind. It goes a long way. I could talk forever about how hard USPS staff work, but you get the idea hopefully. My only negative experience is one of my packages went missing after dropping it in the outside box during the holiday last year. I didn't get a receipt, which is my own fault. I'm not sure what exactly causes a package to disappear as there is a few probabilities. I just make sure to go in and get a receipt as I ship with insurance every time. This is a trusty location, and if you're patient and friendly, it should never fail you :)

Once the lady (Postal worker 24) weighed package to mail, I mentioned to her that I also needed Postcrossing Stamps. She looked at me so strangely and asked, "What is Postcrossing? Never heard of it." I told her the NEW stamps were just issued this Summer. Then, I asked her, "You really don't know if you have the International Postcrossing stamps and you work here?" In that moment, she said to another female worker next to her, "Oh Lord, I just had a flashback to yesterday." to which the other lady replied, "Oh, 1776." I was SO put OFF by their racism. I will NEVER set foot in there again!

This is the only post office I have ever visited where you can even ask for help choosing the best shipping option, given what you are shipping and what you need. Be aware of two things: There is usually a line almost out the door here, so you will likely wait 5-10 minutes, but generally the long line moves fairly quickly because they are very well-staffed. Also they are occasionally out of specific shipping supplies (I've had troubles finding certain sizes for flat-rate ship boxes), but they will call ahead to another USPS for you if you need something particular.
