Went in with a referral, clearly explained that I have 2 relevant subscriptions to 2 health insurance programs. I sent them an email with all the identifying insurance info. They only billed 1 of 2 health insurances. I had to call the billing department 888 phone number to rectify this problem. I noted that I had a severe allergic reaction to the medical tape by calling on two separate days to ask for help. Not one person, not even the dr who saw me, responded. Terrible bedside manners, go to another dermatologist in Wheaton for example. read more

If you're seeking "fast medicine" that resembles "fast food," this is the place to go: "In 'n Out Medicine." Dr. Saurabh Singh spent at most 3 minutes giving me a full body scan for cancer and then dashed out the door. Barely a "hello," how are you?" or "goodbye." He talked rapidly and continuously, making it difficult to ask questions and impossible to ask follow-up questions. I will henceforth take my medical concerns elsewhere. I recommend you do so as well. This was a good practice 10 years ago. It appears to have been taken over by venture capitalism. read more

Love the doctors here. My wife, both of my kids and I are all patients here (seeing three different providers). However, the practice is a general nightmare to deal with. Incorrect bookings of appointments, appointments regularly moved to other locations, frequent cancellations, and a buggy, unreliable patient portal all make for constant headaches when dealing with this practice. Seemingly constant turnover of front desk staff can't be helping. It's a shame, because the dermatologists have been wonderful, it's just otherwise a miserable patient experience. read more

I was a patient at this practice for three decades, before it was Derm Associates and then U.S. Dermatology Parnters. The quality of the physicians has remained high, but everything else about the practice has deteriorated so much that I've now left it. Physician availability has declined, so it often takes weeks or even months to get an appointment. Worse yet, the phone system for contacting the practice is nightmarish, and you simply can't call them directly. Now that the practice is owned by private equity, supposed staffing "efficiencies" have made it unpleasant to be a patient. read more

I would give Dr. Singh 5 stars. I would give the office management 1 star (because yelp doesn't offer zero). Let's average it overall at 3 stars. First off, Dr. Singh is really really great. He listens attentively and explains carefully. He is kind, thorough, and helped me manage a condition very effectively. I was his patient when he still had a practice in DC, and I'd follow him anywhere in this area. The problem comes in that they are so busy and apparently understaffed that getting through to someone is difficult, and getting an appointment that isn't 3-4 months away is impossible. It's a pity. read more

Doctors are great and thorough. The office staff is AWFUL and incompetent. They cannot perform the simple act of responding to patients and making appointments, even after multiple requests, phone calls, and messages. DO NOT use the website to request an appointment. They ignore those requests and do not respond to repeated requests, phone calls, or requests to speak to an office manager. It also takes multiple phone calls to schedule an appointment. After you've scheduled, they often have to move your appointment. They tried to move mine to a time I could not do. I have been waiting since last July for an explanation on why it takes an act of God to make an appointment. It won't happen apparently. Good luck getting a response to a request, phone call, or follow up from the office manager who cannot do their job and does not care about responding to basic patient needs, like appointment requests. read more

Imagine having the exact same pimple for over 10 years...it doesn't get worse, but it also never goes away. And it's so deep under the skin that you can't pop it either. That's Steatocystoma multiplex, a slow-growing form of acne resulting from cysts in sebaceous glands. After examining me, Dr. Wagonseller prescribed me all the usual acne creams & concoctions. Which was disappointing, because I'd already told her that topical treatments had failed to make any difference at all in my cysts. She should have known that steatocystoma multiplex does not respond to topical treatment. Dr. Wagonseller is very nice, but ultimately not a very effective dermatologist. Recently, another dermatologist extracted my steatocystomas. I'm so excited that they're permanently gone, but Dr. Wagonseller could have referred me for extractions. Instead she just did 'the usual' & washed her hands of the matter. I can't recommend her. read more

My husband has been getting annual exams for years. When I finally decided I should schedule a routine exam after years of sunbathing and sun burning Rich recommended Dr. Singh. He added that he knew I might prefer a female doctor but Dr. Singh is very nice and very respectful so I decided to schedule my appointment. Well Rich was absolutely right, Dr. Singh is wonderful, listened, explained, and made me feel quite comfortable. read more

Dr Singh definitely gets a 5 star rating. He is an excellent doctor who cares Dr DiLorenzo on the other hand was the most unpleasant medical experience I have had in many years. Would not recommend her to anyone and would definitely not see her again. I was a check mark for her to file a medical claim. For further details see my review on google. read more

This practice is fine if you need a non time-urgent appointment like an annual check-up, but if you contract a condition that causes severe discomfort and need to be sooner rather than later, this is not where you want to be a patient. read more

I initially had an appointment with another doctor at this practice. The appointment was not good. The doctor did not seem to care and barely looked at me. She said she could not see the rash I had pointed out, but ordered a stronger hydrocortisone cream. My primary care doctor recommended Dr. Singh. I was very pleased with him. He took his time, listened to what I had to say and addressed the problem. My biggest concern is the time it takes to get an appointment with this practice and the lack of concern the phone staff has in helping their patients. My rating is for Dr. Singh. Not the practice! read more

I had the same derm for a decade in South Florida. Then, I moved to the DMV. I was nervous at first, because I was so used to the exceptional medical practice of my hometown's dermatologist. The bar for Dr. Singh was very high. Dr. Singh not only met my high expectations; he exceeded them. He is a phenomenal dermatologist with exceptional etiquette. He and his PA are very professional, knowledgeable, to-the-point, and super pleasant. Glad I discovered Dr. Singh and his practice in Silver Spring :) read more

Dr. D was awesome. Quickly & professional service. VERY pleased with his team. Thank you! read more

Dr. Yablonsky is Excellent! I am very, very thankful to have had Dr. Yablonsky do my Mohs surgery. I could not have been in better hands -- literally! In my particular case, it could have been a tricky procedure, but due to his excellent skills, not only did he remove the skin cancer but he did a tremendous job on the reconstruction. He was super helpful in explaining the procedure, also. I give him the highest recommendation. He has not been in the DC area long, but I hope he stays here for many years to come read more

I absolutely loved Dr. DiLorenzo, the MA, and the office staff. Everyone was warm, friendly, and approachable. I went in for a skin exam because members of my family have had skin cancer and I want to keep an eye on things. I also have moles and spots that I wanted them to look at. Dr. DiLorenzo explained everything about her exam, asked for my consent before checking sensitive areas, and gave me excellent patient education based on my family history and current risk factors. Her MA was wonderful, warm, and kind and made me feel right at home. All employees at the front desk were likewise, even though it looked like it was a busy day. I don't need to come back for a couple of years, but will definitely go back to them when it's time :) read more

Dr. Kristina and her team with everything I needed!!! From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave everything is quick, smooth and painless. I had a small cyst removed from my back and I barely felt a thing. The overall experience was clear-cut and easy. I highly suggest DermAssociates For your dermatology needs. 5 stars!! read more

Dr. Singh is an amazing doctor. Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, but he puts you at ease as a patient. He removed multiple unsightly moles for me, and I was extremely happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to go back to him again for any skincare needs. The only unpleasant experience was asking and scanning for my ID at the front office. I know a lot of doctors offices do this due to a misunderstanding of a federal rule, but it's an invasion of privacy. read more

After being told by many practices that the MD's did not have openings until the end of November/early December, I called Derm Associates and they immediately had an opening. Although I had to cancel my first appointment due to being sick, they were very understanding and scheduled me for the next week. The only downside is that the practice is not easily accessible by public transportation, but car2go makes getting there easy. Though I did have a long wait once, I usually am seen within 5-10 minutes. The staff is definitely the best! The receptionists are friendly and the medical assistants (shoutout to Angie!) are awesome. I see Jennifer Desimone and she is fabulous! Unlike previous dermatologists I had in CA, she takes the time to explain my issues in detail, such as what causes acne or why Accutane causing depression is a myth. Also, she is super nice and as a young doc, she can relate to me and understands my concerns. As for the medication she prescribed, it's taking some time to see the full results and I've had some side effects. That said, Jennifer is supportive about my decisions to cut back on or increase my medication. Finally, I like that they have samples of skin products. At my last visit, I asked the assistant if she could recommend some facial products for someone with sensitive skin. She gave me samples, which is nice because I don't have to worry about wasting money on a product that does not work for me. Last but not least...they take my insurance (Anthem Blue Cross)!! UPDATE: I just finished 4 months on Accutane and my skin looks AMAZING! I have seen 4 dermatologists since I was 16 and Jennifer is the only one who has been able to treat my acne effectively. Praise be to Jennifer! read more

Updated review: I went back for a return visit after the bad experience with the PA (who didn't even look at my skin under the gown) and Dr. Singh was great. He took time to answer my questions, thoroughly checked my skin and the moles of concern, and was very friendly. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and felt much better about using this practice in the future. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to DermAssociates to see Dr. Singh. I really appreciated how he did not try to push or upsell me on products and treatments. He instead asked me about my skin care goals and gave feedback based on that. Luckily I am the type of patient who brings a post-it note with all of my issues on it so I don't forget to tell the doctor. ^_^ One reason for my visit was the burst blood vessels on my cheeks. He suggested that I wait longer to have them lasered off since the marks were minimal, but when I said that I would like to go ahead and have them removed he was happy to do so. Dr. Singh made me feel good about coming to DA, because I know I will only get the skin treatments that I really need or want. I plan to come back every year as needed. Dr. Singh's assistant was also very helpful and pleasant to talk with, and the front desk was efficient and friendly. My entire visit lasted less than an hour and I got all of the answers I needed without feeling rushed through. read more

Whoa I shoulda read the reviews. Only phone line working is the appointment line. Everything else- leave a message. Took me 3 months to get an appointment and that was at the Rockville Office over an hour away from me. I wasn't listened to. I specifically asked for the treatment I know they offer and was prescribed head and shoulders and charged a $30 copay. Was also prescribed something for my face coming from their "specialty pharmacy" who never called me as promised. Never heard anything else. read more

Called for an emergency appointment for a sudden worsening skin condition and they told me there were no openings until Fall. I asked what they do if a patient has a situation in which they need to be seen right away and she said "we don't take walk-ins." Never heard of a doctors office that does not offer same day appointments for patients with an immediate medical need! Patients, you'll need to schedule your skin problems first apparently! read more

I would NEVER recommend someone to Dr. Singh. This was probably the worst experience I've had with ANY healthcare practitioner ever. He was incredibly rude, rushed our appointment, and he didn't even take the time to answer my questions. I felt like CRYING after leaving the office. I don't plan on (ever) going back to see Dr. Singh or DermAssociates because of this. I would suggest you look elsewhere if you're looking for compassionate healthcare professionals because this is not the place! read more

I realize I'm a naysayer here, but after a year of going to DermAssociates, I think we're breaking up. It is true that it's relatively easy to get an appointment here (I've never had to wait more than two weeks or so). And extra points for easy, free parking. And for an efficient front desk staff. And if you like watching the Steve Harvey show, it almost always seems to be playing in the waiting room. I've never had to wait in the waiting room more than five minutes. I appreciate all of that. But what I really dislike here is that everything feels very, very rushed. I don't think I've ever spent more than five minutes (no exaggeration) with my doctor here (even though they call it a "15 minute appointment.") Now, I know what medical life is like these days, and I know that doctors are seeing more patients than ever before, but it's frustrating that I spend more time talking to the nurse who walks me into the exam room than to the doctor, and one of my patient pet peeves is feeling like the doctor is trying to move quickly on to the patient in the next room. I feel like the doctor keeps one hand on the door knob so she can bolt as soon as there's a pause in the conversation. I also often feel like when I ask questions about my skin, I'm given answers that feel unacceptable (most recently, when I asked about some freckles I'm getting on my face, the doctor analogized them to what Morgan Freeman has. Truth be told, I'm not trying to look like Morgan Freeman, nor do I think Mr. Freeman and I look alike. It was more than a bit awkward). Not only that, but I always leave feeling like all I get is a refill on my prescription, and very few suggestions about anything else (except for basic things: "wash your face regularly.") So despite the convenience, I think I'm going to look elsewhere. read more

I wish I could write two reviews of DermAssociates because they'd have two very different ratings! I was tempted not to write anything, but I don't see any other reviews on here relating to their cosmetic dermatology. In November, I saw Dr. Singh for a little Botox between my eyebrows and also because I had a bit of eczema. He was absolutely fantastic, everyone in the office was wonderful, and it was a fast, efficient experience. They recommended a great pharmacy that got me a good deal on my prescription. (High-deductible health plans are the worst.) I'd absolutely 100% give that experience five stars. However, I went in two weeks later for lip injections from a different doctor. While the office experience was good the results are... not. The injections are very lumpy and uneven. Many of the lumps are above my upper lip--with one bump in particular noticeably standing out when my face is at rest. It basically looks like a large blind pimple above my lip. Presumably, it'll last 6-9 months, the estimated duration of the filler. My actual lips don't look too much fuller, and I do wonder if the result would be better if the filler wasn't primarily situated in lumps above my upper lip and on the inside of my lower lip. I had a syringe of Restylane Silk for $700, so it's a shame that I spent a lot of money on something that looks bad. Once I determined that the bumps were actually the filler and not swelling, I spoke casually with a few plastic surgeons who told me that lip injections only turn out that bumpy with poor injection technique. So for regular skin dermatology, I definitely recommend DermAssociates! Dr. Singh is great. But for cosmetic fillers, look elsewhere. read more

By far the best doctor I've ever been to period. The office is very nice and clean, the receptionist was fast with checking me in with my new paperwork and extremely friendly along with the assistants. Had a scary mole that was removed by another doctor and he ended up being a nightmare and because I was back in this area for winter break from school I made an appointment with Alicia Cool. (How cool is her name??) Sooo glad I came here and didn't go back to the first doctor!!! She didn't give me the greatest news but she gave me all the information I needed, answered all my questions, told me everything was going to be ok and that I was very smart and lucky for getting the mole removed as soon as I did. I felt like I was talking to a friend and she made the situation so much better! I really felt like she cared about me and that she knew what she was doing. read more

My mother and my son were both treated at DermAssociates in Silver Spring. My mother had a lesion on the bridge of her nose for almost two years that would come and go. She didn't think it was a big deal, but I was really frightened whenever it came back. Her doctor didn't think it was anything to be worried about, but her dentist finally referred her to DermAssociates. It was easy to get an appointment there. The doctor she saw there (Dr. Cole) did a biopsy and it did turn out to be cancerous - benign - but it can spread extensively under the skin. Dr. Cole immediately got her in with the surgeon, Dr. Levender, who moved my mother's initially scheduled appointment up when an earlier one opened up. My mom had to have three rounds of surgery - the spread was extensive. But the doctors and all the staff there - even the receptionist - took really good care of her. They even sent her home with snacks and Dr. Levender even gave my mother her personal cell number in case she had trouble over the weekend. I was really impressed by their care. My mom looked like she'd been clubbed repeatedly in the face - I felt really worried for her. But now you can't tell she even had surgery. It's amazing. My second experience at DermAssociates was for my 5 year old son who had a rash that would not heal. He has been going with my ex wife to a fancy dermatologist in Bethesda who diagnosed him with eczema and put us on a regime of 4 different ointments - all extremely expensive. (One was 700$ a tube). We went several times and after 3 months my son's rash was no better. In fact my older son asked me why his brother was turning "into a monster." (As an aside, the Bethesda dermatologist also had weird way of interacting with my son - flipping him over on the table like a steak, but not really ever talking to him). Finally, I insisted on getting a second opinion. I took my son to DermAssociates because I remember my mother getting such good care. Again, it was very easy to get an appointment. He saw Dr. Abrams - the pediatric dermatologist. Dr. Abrams was very kind, personable, and interacted with my son in a way that was clear she was used to working with children. She diagnosed him with having a common childhood skin irritation - papular urticaria - not eczema. He is finally looking and feeling better. I was also impressed by the office. It is clean and bright. They answer their phones immediately and it's easy to make an appointment. When I called to ask for a medical summary, the person who called me back about twenty minutes later was Dr. Abrams. I've never had a doctor call me before. She was warm, friendly, kind. I trust her with my kid. And I'm extremely grateful to DermAssociates for taking such good care of my mother and son. read more

A bit hard to schedule an early appointment. However, they do tend to squeeze you in if you have a huge emergency. The wait is depending on the day and time you visit the office. I had a late appointment around 6pm and waited for a while in the waiting area. Another appointment I only waited 5-10 minutes and was seen right away. I have visited Dr. Amy Cole twice now with my growing skin issues. She is very personable, knowledgeable, and friendly! Dr. Cole listened and truly cares for my well being. I have been treated both times with common skin diseases and they are now manageable. I finally feel relief with Dr. Cole's guidance. read more

This office features extremely fast and efficient service. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing (at least in my case) that they go a bit fast once you're with the doctor. In my case all that's really needed is a quick check and a refill or adjustment in treatment. I've never had a feeling like I was being rushed out of the office. I guess it does depend on what you're there for and when you're there. I always try to get appointments before 9am and have never had a problem. Plus, the parking lot is always less busy at that time of day. Dr. Norman Lockshin is great and diagnosed a condition that my PCP and another doctor failed to diagnose correctly. The problem is resolving and would not have been possible without DermAssociates. The office staff is very friendly. I thank my PCP for referring me to this practice. No complaints from me! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Amy Cole for several years, and she is awesome! I went to see her last week, and the office and staff are very organized, I waited less than 10 minutes to be seen. The office is now going paperless, so before I got there I updated my medical info online which was very helpful. Even prescriptions are sent directly to your pharmacy of choice - so convenient! I went to CVS and picked up my prescription the next day without having to drop off any paper prescription. Dr. Cole is wonderful, she is attentive, friendly and a great dermatologist. I have had several suspicious moles removed and she has also assisted me with other skin conditions. I highly recommend her! read more

I must begin by saying I have always liked my dermatologist there and got excellent help. But as the practice has been consolidated with some nationwide company, the ability to get to your doctor is in steep decline. They encourage you to go to their website to make an appointment. You click, fill out the form and then get a robo-reply that you will hear from the office by the next business day. You do it again when no one contacts you after three days. Same robo-response. STILL NO REPLY AFTER 4 more busiess days. I sent a reply to the robo-response. Apparently no one reads those either. I then call. 15 minutes on hold. I mentioned the online issue to the agent. Couldn't care less. He didn't even bother to check if I was an existing or new patient, simply offered me a new patient slot two months away. I asked him as an existing patient if there was something sooner. Yes, 5 weeks away -- even with a skin issue the PCP said needed attention soon. When I asked if he would pass on the complaint about the web issue (since they encourage bookings by that means), the agent didn't respond. Turns out he terminated the call. ESSENTIALLY THE NEW OWNERS OF THE PRACTICE DON'T CARE. THE DOCTORS MAY BE GREAT, BUT IF THE ADMIN IS SO BAD, WHATS THE POINT. read more

The administration here is terrible, as previous folks have stated. Each time I come, I wait 40 minutes to 1 hour in the waiting room-- and they have no idea who's next or why.
