I went to this bank to get help with 3 overdraft fees from one day caused by two incorrect transactions. The banker Helen would hardly make eye contact with me much less show any empathy. Never in my life have I felt so dirty and shamed. She refused to help me, claiming they were legitimate fees. While I was fine with one fee, 2 or 3 in one day is exorbitant. I'm very disappointed and plan on finding a new bank to bank with asap.

All the employees are always very friendly and willing to help you. On today's visit, I went to the branch to fix a little problem I encountered. I have my mortgage through Waterstone Bank, and I hadn't received my escrow check, to pay my property taxes. First, I called Customer Service. They looked up my account, and told me the check was sent out two weeks ago. It must have gotten lost in the mail or something, because I never got it. The Customer Service Rep told me that I could just go into any branch, and they could issue a stop-pay on the old check and issue a replacement. So that's exactly what I did. Easy as pie! They have a small waiting area, with comfy chairs, arranged around a coffee table, a TV on the wall, that's usually got some news channel on, and a station with fresh, hot coffee. So I sat and waited a few minutes while they got everything in order and issued my new check. They brought it over to me; I had to sign one paper for the stop-pay, and I was sent on my way with a handshake and a 'Thank You'.

Educators Credit Union is a financial cooperative. We've been with ECU for about 9 years now. We moved from US Bank after getting nickel and dime on a monthly basis and extremely poor customer service. We read about ECU, came in to talk to them and walked out with our accounts set up. Friendly, outgoing and accommodating customer service each and every time we go there for whatever reason. We have multiple savings, checking and home improvement loan here and now most recently a short approval process to get a pre-approved auto loan in a few hours. We were then able to better shop for a car. I was also there to help my oldest build credit, working with a rep and asked if it was possible to have him order me new checks and he went in and did that within 30 seconds instead of pushing it off to someone else. What we like best is one of their programs. Debit and credit card holders can earn reward points. Every dollar we charge on our debit/credit card: Debit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $2 spent Credit card "credit" transactions = 1 point for every $1 spent Redeem points for discounts and promotions on Educators products and services, cash back, gift cards, air travel, and more. We use our points for hotel stays and take side trips with the kids. I can't stress enough how exceptional the customer service is. By the way, if you're a younger YELPer, heed my cautionary biographical tale, I only borrowed $20,000 years ago to finish grad school and because of predatory practices by corporate lenders I have paid that back many times over and still have a big enough loan it rivals my mortgage. And I'm on the backside of middle age. Don't end up like me. This location is rarely busy, the workers are friendly and competent, it's clean and there are humans working here not teller machines.
