In response to Tonya H., Totally Free Checking does not mean you get free checks. It means that the fees that you would pay for that account are reversed every month. U.S.bank has a program that helps you to build savings and your credit.
I have had accounts with U.S. Bank for six years now and I grew my savings to a point where they rewarded me with a debit card that had free money on it for reaching a certain goal.
The program is called START. I had to save a certain amount of money and keep it there for a certain amount of time. I got rewarded twice for my savings. Then, I took a certain amount of money out of my savings into a credit card program called secured credit. I faithfully paid my amount into that card every month until I was able to get a regular credit card. I also was given my money that I paid into that card for one month returned to me.
I now have even better credit than I did when I started with U.S.Bank.
I even found some suspicious activity on my checking account at one time. Their fraud department looked into it and I got my stolen money returned to me.
Oh and I even can check things that happen with my accounts online.
