It's an ok branch, and after 13 years in the area, it was only recently that we dropped into this branch for the first time. We mainly drop into a Chase branch for ATM services, but around this time of year, we also always take the opportunity to ask for complimentary, colorful, and handy Chinese New Year lucky money red envelopes. It's a nice perk offered by Chase Bank and I really don't know if other banks offer such a perk. The funny thing is that this is the only branch we have ever asked that only had lucky money envelopes from the previous year lol. It's not a biggie, and they are still handy, but the current up-to-date envelopes have a horse logo signifying it's the Year of the Horse. read more

Great Bank for encouraging Online stupidity like giving out your pin number right after you gave out your cash station/debit card to a condescending employee that could care less whether Chase loses another customer or not. But that's OK because Chase doesn't care if they lose a customer either so I guess it's a valued employee. Tried to send money to a subcontractor, an equal amount of what was put in days after the check cleared and even after all the hoops and then finally refusing to give them my pin number you know to the fraud department, let me repeat that refusing to give my pin number over the phone to the fraud department, who apparently by company policy is allowed to ask for it. Not my federal tax ID number which I am the only one that's probably gonna know that, not the last four digits of my social which of course is widely publicized, not the last name of my mother's maiden name, no, Fraud department wanted my pin number to the debit card I just gave the full number of. So I opted to go into the bank and speak to a manager, only to be met with the same problem with the same person type over the phone, this time, however since I had my drivers license apparently that's good enough because it looked like it was me. That's a good thing because it was me. And then later that night I tried to do the exact same money transferred to the subcontractor who's starving for money right now, and it wouldn't let me, kind of a oxymoron to have a fraud department that doesn't even let you get your own money out, even after you are paying Hd Ed to go into the brick and mortar store and proved that it's you prove that amount needs to be moved out, but I know they were very happy to take the money read more

It is a very bad bank, the employees are not helpful the employees should be helpful we are losing our time because of their nonsense.

A few years back I opened up a checking account here just so I could have access to another ATM in the neighborhood. I usually utilize the ATM and have had no any complaints for this place. Drive-up service bank service is especially helpful for handicap persons and senior citizens. Now in this age of COVID, I really don't want to walk into any bank. I went in the Chase Bank Des Plaines ,IL the 1500 Lee St. Des Plaines ,60018 Branch 3 different times before the male banker was happy to convert my change into paper money . The 4th time the female banker refused to do it after I dumped my change in the window she said "Sorry it has to be wrapped up & counted first", with a snippy tone. Yeah right since when. She just didn't want to count the change at all. I talked to the manager & He said "We have policy that says the change has to be counted & wrapped up. I said BS I have been in here 3 times before & they took the change without being wrapped up & the male banker counted it all. Manager just walked away.. Just opened this week and still has that new car smell. I came here after looking for the Chase location that Google maps told me was about 2 miles up the road, that I discovered only after about 10-Michigan left turns, that was actually across the street from this brand new freestanding location, but located within a Dominick's and like many things I've searched for along Lee street, is hidden from plain site due to an obstruction from another newly-built building in the middle of a strip mall parking lot. But that's neither here nor there -- the point is, I found this Chase and was in dire need of cash so I could be well-prepared for the tipping situation after the mani/pedi I was about to treat myself to since I'd busted like 3 of my nails doing spring cleaning bullsh*t and hauling heavy sh*t the whole prior week. So I didn't get any further than the front lobby, as I only needed the ATM, but I can still report on that, as it's a newer ATM and unlike any I'd ever used at a Chase branch before. The screen is a double the size (height-wise) of the old ATMs, which is nice for people who can't see very well, but also really nice for anyone standing behind you in line, around you, walking by, etc, because they can see everything you're doing on the screen. How much is or isn't in your accounts, how much cash you're taking out, etc. Not the safest, but I'll likely not find myself in this area outside of regular business hours so it's maybe not such a big deal, but just a word to the wise. One nice thing about the new ATMs is that you can get your withdrawal amount in monetary denominations other than a $20 spot. Sure, it requires a bit of math and took me about 5 times as long to finish my transaction, but I was able to leave with not only a $20, but $1 and $5 bills (perfect denominations for nail-job tipping) and also had the option of a $100 bill, but it's gonna take me a while to save up for that amount to be withdrawn. Avoid banking at this particular branch. We came in to close an account, no one was waiting in line, the personal banker said 7 people called in sick and we would be waiting over an hour. I really think he didnt know how to close an account. This branch seems to be a dumping ground for employees on the way out of the company. I have never been to a busier bank! I could not believe it- not even a parking spot to be had in the parking lot! The bank seems new. I had to do a wire transfer and once I actually met with a banker, he was very nice and helpful. They really need MORE BANKERS to keep up with the volume of customers. I had to wait about 30 min which was fine because I was not in a rush, but many people left because they could not wait that long. read more

This branch is the worst. Went on a Friday to cash a paycheck and was told they had no $50s or $100s because it's Friday and they were very busy. Hello??!! People have been getting paid on Fridays for at least the last century!! The bank is supposed to be where the money is - Why aren't they prepared? Also, the single drive-thru ATM is constantly under repair (or being filled?) with armored van and techie present, yapping away on his cell-phone, especially in the early evening hours between 7-8 Has happened way too many times. Shouldn't these repair/refill people vary their hours? Anyone casing the joint would know the best time for a stick-up... Find a bank that doesn't take their customers for granted. read more

This branch has so so many employees but one teller and everyone else is in there little office joking around can not help anyone. These people just getting paid to sit. I should have read the reviews before I went. Horrible service. Had to wait nearly a half an hour to change the pin on my debit card, which takes all of a minute. The guy waiting head of me flat out left because he was waiting so long to talk to a banker. They clearly need additional staff or a better solution for people who have quick banking needs. Not Once, but twice.... After having a horrible experience at the Mount Prospect branch, I ran to the other branch hoping for better results. After entering and writing my name down, with the intention of opening a business checking/savings account and apply for a credit card. I waited an hour (with my pregnant wife and 1 year old daughter) to be told that they were closing soon and the process would take an hour. This same banker looked at the sign up sheet at least three times, while I waited and saw why I was there, but he was more concerned with the simple conversations. Finally, when I was spoken to, I was recommended to make an appointment at a time and day that was convenient for them. Yet, their website make no initial mention of making an appointment. JP Morgan has been around since the beginning of the railroads and have made their fortunes on betting on small businesses and extending a hand shake and "how can I help you". Apparently, they are no longer concerned with the small businesses and are more worried about checking accounts and the "big fish". I am sure that JP Morgan will remain the monopolizing financial power house that they have become, and kudos to you for your success. However, history repeats itself, and all major empires have crumbled. They forgot where they started and lose sight of their true cornerstone. read more

Chase SUCKS! They allowed a charge to go through on an expired card and the only way to start a fraud case is to cancel current card because visa gave them my new cc number. In this day and age where we use cc to pay for everything including bills it is such an inconvenience to go and up-date all of our accounts. I did swear a ton when I first called because I had been transferred three times & Rayna was going to transfer me again that's when I lost it! Rayna at that point hung up on me. Chase needs to re-think customer service. This particular branch has no drive-up service windows (all ATM"s now). The parking lot is tight and usually very crowded. Once inside you'll find only 2 windows that have a human being you can talk to...the other window spaces(3-4) are filled with automated machines...very impersonal. Be prepared to wait...once you finally get to a teller (long lines), you are faced with a counter-to-ceiling solid glass wall...felt like a prison visit and I was the inmate !!! That being said, the employees are wonderful at this branch, very personable, hence the bump to 2 stars. read more

I arrive to chase bank about 540 pm. I was informed by the banker that we would have to make an appointment because it was past 530 and they don it take it takes 30 to 40 minutes to open a new account I explained to him that I was currently already a current customer and I had told my brother that he should open an account with Chase boy was I wrong the service was extremely poor and the Tyler said that he would express it to the manager and say well the manager would have to make decision if we could open the account the manager said have them to make an appointment it's amazing the chase does not want my business anymore but they don't have to worry about it they won't get it. As a small business owner I'm very disappointed with this bank. They removed the drive up service which I used regularly, then when I proceeded to go inside I found they've replaced all but two teller stations with ATMs. Those two tellers are both busy, I've been waiting ten minutes and I'm still in line. One guy seems to be exchanging a bunch of coins for bills and the other is doing God knows what. Either way there should either be a business line or more tellers. It's very disappointing as this was my main bank and I will have to leave a little earlier so I can wait in line for one of their 2 total tellers. They only have drive thru atms. They used to have drive up windows but they changed them into atms only. Sometimes the atms do not work the way they supposed to. The one in the middle freezes many times, or at least on me. Overall, I like their atms since they give you small change like 1 or $5 bills. I love that part. Sometimes I need small change and they provide it. That is the reason why I bank with Chase. They have atms all around the city. My only concern is they should have more drive up windows , this way I would not wave to get out of my car and walk inside. read more

I have never been to a chase bank location and had to wait 2 hours to wait to speak with someone. Got there at 5:06 and finally got to speak with someone at 6:50. After all that wait, they told me I needed a paper from home. Of course, since they were closing in 5 minutes, I was told to come back the next day. One "banker" was with a couple for over an hour. Then, he decided to help his friend instead of people who were waiting for over an hour. People were very upset!! The manager made an excuse that he must have had appointment. My biggest frustration was no one was there to ask a question so I could have gotten the paper I needed. I could have gone back and forth to my house 5 or 6 times while I waited.
