I know it might be a bit odd to write a review about a bank, but I can't help it. This bank has…read morebeen one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of working with! I was with U.S. Bank and First Financial both for about 15 years, and up until 2 years ago I loved them both. Then I hit a huge financial hardship when someone I knew stole my identity. I'd had perfect credit lines with both of the banks and despite knowing what happened they froze my accounts and would not cooperate with me at all. It was a difficult time and someone referred me to Huntington. I'd had my car loan with them and paid the car off early, so I figured I'd give them a shot. This bank made me feel like a human when I told them the situation. They let me change my address to someone else's until I could get the legal stuff taken care of and when my account looked like something odd was going on they called me to make sure it was legit since they knew what I was going through! Recently they started the 24 hour grace period for if you overdraft your account, and that is an awesome program for a bank. I have only utilized it once when I overdrew by .29. Now a normal bank would still have charged me $25 at least for that. Huntington sent me a notice, but they PAID IT and charged me no fees! I know I told some personal details, but I just want to express how amazing this bank has been for me. When I had my direct deposit set up I could even get free money orders too. The tellers at the location remember me too, and even ask how everything is going with my personal situation. As far as customer service goes.. this bank is above and beyond in my book and I will continue to bank with them for a very long time.

I used this bank since I was a kid. I decided to open a 2nd savings account for myself (the other…read moreone was money that had been passed down by a family member hence wanting to keep it separate) & went into an in-person location to set it up. Everything seemed fine, had to transfer $200 into it to start it but whatever, waited a couple days before doing anything with it as advised; then tried to put money into it & couldn't. Not over the app or website. Called the bank & was told "oh, yeah, that's not a real account haha, we'll fix it". It does get fixed, but after another few days & after I was already promised this was a working bank account to begin with. After around a month/month & a half I decide I want to leave. I want a credit card, debit cards that actually WORK (the North Side ones don't tap, & often have to be redone when slid in/swiped), & a banking app that allows me to do more than just transfer money from one account to another. I set all of that up at another bank, wait for my debit & credit cards before I transfer all my money out of the North Side accounts, & once I get the cards I go to North Side to get my cashier's checks & nuke my existing accounts. Everything seems to go smoothly but I end up with some extra money on the checking accounts check. I assume they didn't account for the check that was just cashed for my new apartment & just sort of shrug it off as at this point I'm totally fed up with them & it wouldn't be the first time they've flubbed it with something like this. However yesterday my dad gets a call from our cell phone provider that they couldn't get our phone bill paid because his account didn't exist. So he set up an account awhile back after a medical emergency that was in all my family member's names (4 of us) so that we were covered bill-wise if something happened to him & these idiots went "well your name was on it, that means you get all the money in it & we're closing the whole account :)" when I closed my personal accounts to transfer away from North Side. Despite me SPECIFYING that I only wanted 2 checking & 2 savings accounts closed (the 4 that were exclusively in my name.) On top of that, I totally forgot this other account existed. My dad told me once in an email right after he'd gotten out of the hospital years ago, & as I am chronically ill & have only become functional enough to work normal hours within the last year or so, I didn't really worry about it, as well as not having real access to it without having to like call in or go in person. & the person who closed these accounts didn't check with me when this account didn't line up with the account descriptions I gave for the ones I wanted closed. While they did get it back up & running (apparently because we're such good customers ), I now owe my dad over a thousand dollars because they couldn't listen to my instructions in the first place. They were also incredibly condescending to both my father & I when we called about this issue & explained to them why this was a ridiculous thing to do & essentially told us it was all our fault & they couldn't be blamed at all, but they'd be so kind as to fix it for us. My dad is now considering leaving them & I'm incredibly glad I left as this is insane. Side note, having an account that has 4 people on it be able to be shut down & completely emptied by only 1 of it's members is an insane safety risk. Not sure if this is the case for every bank, but either way that is legit asking for someone to run away with the group's money if even one of the people isn't a good person, much less something like an abusive marriage or family dynamic.

My family has not been treated well during this time. On May 9th at 11:30, four of my sisters went to the Loveland branch to fill out the Distribution Forms. The bank has two private conferences rooms, a booth with a computer set up, and a coffee bar. This décor gives the illusion the bank welcomes customers to relax while doing business. My sisters picked up the forms and were about to sit down when a bank employee, Stacie, told them that they could take the forms with them. My sisters said they wanted to fill them out together at the bank. Stacie said it would take awhile to fill out and they could take them. My sisters said they had coffee and were fine sitting at the table. Stacie said that the bank didn't like people talking about financial information in the lobby due to HIPAA laws. Yes, a bank employee cannot speak of my financial information in the lobby, but I can. Even though my sisters felt extremely awkward and unwelcome, they sat together and filled out the Distribution Forms for our recently deceased father's IRA. Stacie made a painful situation uncomfortable and embarrassing. On May 9th at 4:00, I went to the Chase Bank Loveland branch to fill out my Distribution Form. An older teller gave me the folder and told me that I could take it with me. I explained that I live 30 minutes away and did not want to return home only to come right back. She said that Stacie was balancing the volt and it could take her 20 or 25 minutes. I said that was okay because it still saved me an additional trip. The teller spoke to Stacie in the volt. She returned to say that Stacie told her it took my sisters an hour or maybe an hour and a half to fill out the papers and I might want to take them home. I told her no thank you and sat down. I looked at my phone to see how long it would take to fill out the papers. It took 4 minutes. By this time, Stacie came out of the volt to tell me how much easier it would be if I went home. I informed her that I was finished. She was surprised and reluctantly signed my form. On May 10th, my sister in Michigan went to her Chase branch and filled out her Distribution Form. No one told her to leave to fill out the papers. She was told the original form would be sent in the Chase Bank Pony and be at the Loveland branch right away. On May 30th I called Stacie to check on the status of my dad's IRA distribution. She gave me the number to the Retirement Service Department. I spoke to an employee, Mari, who said that she had no record of receiving the Distribution Forms. She told me to call Stacie to ask when she sent them and have Stacie call her. I did Mari's job for her and called Stacie. Stacie could not tell me when she sent the forms because she had put the file away and apparently could not walk to the file cabinet. She told me that she would call Mari and call me back. I waited an hour and decided to call Stacie. Stacie answered the phone and with irritation in her voice said, "I'm in the middle of trying to fix the situation. We faxed the forms on May 15th. Our fax said that it went through but for some reason the other department didn't get it. We did everything right on our end. I'm sending the original paperwork by UPS and they will have it by 10:30 tomorrow morning." I asked, "why did the forms get sent on the 15th when we signed them on the 9th?" She said that she was waiting on the original form from Michigan. I reminded her that the form was signed on the 10th and send through the bank's pony. How long does the pony take? She repeated that she sent it as soon as she got the paperwork. She did everything right on her end. She didn't know why the other department didn't get it. She was going to send it UPS and they would have it at 10:30 tomorrow. I asked if the papers would be expediated due to the error. We signed the papers 29 days ago and the process takes 25 business days. Now, we are starting back at day one. She said, "That is up to them on their end. We did everything right on our end." When asked to produce the fax confirmation sheet, Stacie said the fax doesn't print paper. The screen either shows a check mark or an X to show the fax went through. She repeated that it went through. She did everything right on her end. Never did Stacie apologize for the inconvenience or try to speed up the process. From the moment we walked through the door, my family has felt like a burden to the employees at the Loveland Branch Office. We have accounts with Chase Bank and will be moving them.
