There was a little mix-up in obtaining the parking permit in order to park the cube on the street, but that was handled with patience and understanding. Upon opening the cube after transport the items inside were all in good condition, so the cube was evidently kept in an upright position and handled carefully. My stuff made it through well. The cube arrived at the end of the time window on packing day and took 9 days to get to me from when I requested the pickup. It was "technically 7 days" as they don't work weekends and require 24 hours notice for pick up. They are not very timely but were polite and friendly and are not a bad service if you don't need your stuff right away. read more

Service help over the phone was excellent at the beginning and end of the move. Additionally, the drivers at both pick-up and drop-off were terrific! The only problem on our move from Wisconsin to Florida was that the cubes stopped in Nashville and then stayed there without explanation for 2 1/2 days. When called, the service person acted as if it was no big deal and said there was nothing he could do about it since he wasn't in Nashville. We ended up waiting two extra days for our things and I had to change my flights and stay 3 days longer than planned. read more

Having the ability to order an extra cube without having to pay if we didn't use it was critical to the success of our move... because the description of what 1 cube can hold (studio/small apartment) was not enough for us. We moved from a well-packed 650 sq ft apartment + small storage unit and we needed the majority of 2 cubes. I have never used a moving service before, and expected it to be a headache. ABF proved to be a pleasure to deal with. They were cheaper than any of the competition, there were no weird contracts or penalty fees for anything, and everyone was extremely nice, even the drivers! After scheduling the appointment for the U-Pack Cubes, I had to change it because of some timing issues. When I called to do so I expected the price to change or to hear about some "cancellation" fee. Instead the man on the phone just said "ok." When I asked if the price had changed his response was "nah, it's all going to the same place anyway." I also ended up using one less cube than expected, and they automatically dropped the price by $500, without even flinching. Everyone I worked with was great, from the people at the headquarters, to the dispatchers, to the drivers themselves. There was no up-selling, no weird obligations, nothing; everything was in the quote price. Just nice people that wanted to help. U-Pack was great. They showed up when they said they would well within the time frames quoted. The drivers were courteous, informative and helpful. The customer service representative was also very helpful, walking me through the entire process. The cost was as quoted, with no hidden fees or charges added on. Moving is never fun but U-Pack definitely made it as easy as possible. If we ever move. I have used U-Pack twice now and I found them to be just as reliable the second time around. Of course it's a lot more work to pack and unpack yourself but after hearing so many horror stories about 'full service' movers I think U-Pack is the way to go. I have never left a review in my life but I am so disappointed in the service I received that I am writing my first. This is an absolutely terrible company- DO NOT USE THEM IF YOU ARE MOVING OUT OF STATE! I wish I could leave 0/5 stars but 1 is as low as it goes. We moved from Wisconsin to Grand Junction, CO. Our trailer was scheduled to arrive between Monday-Wednesday. When it had not arrived Thursday afternoon, I called and spent over 2 hours on hold being transferred over and over again. No apologies and a lot of "we can't do anything for you we don't know where your trailer is and we don't know when it will arrive". Finally they said they would call later that afternoon/night to give me an update. They did not call. We had flights scheduled for work obligations to go back to Wisconsin on Friday, and they could not tell me if the trailer would be delivered this week. I called Friday morning (the day of our flights) and they told me there was no way the trailer would come today and that it might come Monday but they can't make any promises. I had to cancel my flight and purchase a new one ($700 one way) and my significant other flew back. I could not unload the trailer by myself so we also had to hire movers. All in all it cost over $1000 for the delay and all they offered me was $100. The people I talked to on the phone were rude and not empathetic to the stress we were going through at all. I will never use this company again and STRONGLY advise against them-go with any other company. read more

Overall had a great experience with U-Pack moving from Milwaukee to LA. Cheaper than any other quote I received for similar service. I tried to get them to do same day pickup, because I can't have the storage units parked on the street here in LA due to restrictions by the city. I ended up making it work by finding a parking spot nearby that the cube would fit in. Just know it will sit overnight no matter how quickly you fill/empty the unit. That being said, my only critique would be for clarity from the sales rep to warn that there are restrictions on these storage units in certain areas. Also, I was never notified I needed to provide my own lock. I happened to have one that worked, but that came as a surprise when I received the unit. Otherwise, everything was dropped off/picked up on time. Both the drop off and pick up were actually near the beginning of the 4 hour time frame given. The people at ABF who dropped off and picked up we're extremely friendly and did everything in a timely manner. They gave me 5-7 business days for the move across the country which I thought was reasonable and the unit was at my destination on the 5th business day. I was impressed. They were on time at the pick up and at the delivery The cube was surprisingly big and can hold a lot of furniture (I was very nervous at first when I saw it but my one bedroom fits very well) My building were very difficult about keeping the pod overnight so U- pack accommodate my same date pick request. I moved cross country from Wisconsin all the way to Arizona just to be told I can't go into my storage pod unless it's going to be delivered and emptied. They did not disclose this at the beginning. They new I would've not went with them. They were predatory and conned me. I call to try and fix things and they get rude with me and tell me they will not do anything about the lies they told to get me to use there service nor will they let me get my stuff I need out my pod. With a move from PA to Milwaukee approaching, I had to find an affordable way to move my one-bedroom apartment nearly 800 miles. Enter ABF. I did a lot of research and ended up going with ABF (due mostly to their positive reviews and pricing). There was a bit of a snaffu when it came to my order, but the staff was great and really accommodating -- they even let me keep the cheaper price! The drop off was seamless, as was the pickup (I wasn't even there when they picked it up, but it got here, so I can only assume it was seamless!). The U-Pack container got to the West Allis when they said it would. Unfortunately during my house-hunting trip before the unit arrived, I was injured and had to spend some time in the hospital. I was there for a couple days, two days of the three that ABF will hold your unit free of charge. I briefly explained why the employee hadn't heard from me in a couple days and said I'd be there on Friday. When I went inside to settle up (it's 50$ a day beyond the free three) she said they hadn't billed me any extra and she hoped I got better soon. I will definitely use ABF if I ever move myself again. read more

I was so pleased with the initial stages of my move from Dallas to Milwaukee. The drop off and pick up in Dallas were perfect. My communication with Upack over the phone was also great. However, when it came to the delivery from the west allis storage facility- my experience was terrible. The delivery happened over 4 hours after my scheduled window which was already an 8 hour window. I called dispatch several times and they first told me it would be delivered between 430 and 5. When I called back at 530, they said it was just leaving the facility and would be delivered within the hour. The pod didn't arrive until after 730. I was extremely disappointed with this service. read more

At fist my experience with abf was well, all until I had to deal with the west allis branch. My shipment was not delivered on time, so I called to find out what was going on the first person I talked to was no help at all, so i requested to talk to some one higher up that could help me find out what happened to my shipment. They told me that the owner would call back with in the half hour, after waiting a hour I called and requested to speak to the owner. This was where the one star rating was set in stone. The owner seemed to not know what was going on at all, he acted like he did not care that I trusted my belonging with his company. He was not careing i would say he was down right rude, he told me after the shipment is marked as delivered it is "no longer his problem." After not reciving my shipment 2 days later I went in to this location and met with the owner, after asking him repectfuly what was going on he ,acting like i was a waste of his time, went to the loading area and told me to wait out side. After 40 mins he sent a employ out to tell me they found the shpment and will send it out as soon as possible. I told this employ about the experience I had with the owner. This employ agreed with me telling me how often he has to deal with problems like this due to the owners lack of caring, and how he treats his staff the same way.
