Very happy with this U-Pack service! This is a great choice for moving if you have a bit of flexibility with dates. You rent the truck and only pay for the space inside the truck that you use (in 5 foot increments). You hire independent movers on either end of the move - someone to load the truck, and someone else to unload the truck. These are independent from U-Pack. Once loaded, the truck is picked up by U-Pack and driven to your destination. You provide your own moving blankets and straps. I paid a little extra to make sure my truck was delivered by a certain date. Would definitely use this company again. I love their model! Pay for what you use. read more

Great customer service and pricing. Went with a trailer and only used 5 feet of length. dropped trailer when requested and more importantly, where requested! Picked up trailer when they said they would. The pickup location was AZ and drop off in GA. Was originally told 7-9 days transit. I was notified 4 days after pickup that trailer was already at destination! The driver at drop-off location worked with us because the apartment complex didn't allow trailers. Hired Moving Staffers to move our belongings from IL to AZ. Movers stacked and loaded our items poorly and illogically, and we sustained thousands of dollars of losses from damage. Trailer arrived at my house on time. Driver friendly and showed me how to use the ramp. I needed exactly the 16 feet I reserved, but it was nice to know I could have gone over had I needed to. They allowed me an extra day to load at no cost. Arrived at my destination from AZ to NY, on time, everything made it in good condition. By a good margin cheaper than the next alternative, a large U-haul, even more savings than I estimated because gas prices spiked due to invasion of Ukraine. And, I didn't have to drive across the US. Altogether an excellent service. read more

Located in Tucson they were to deliver item to my home in San Manuel. Stayed home on a Thurs and nothing, no notice as to why and offered shipper same response. They only deliver once a week to small towns so they said next Thurs. With no trust in this drove 58mi and found item outside where it would set for who knows how long. Person who shipped item to them in compensating me. ABF in Tucson has no customer support. Avoid them. read more

Skilled drivers, helpful staff both locally and nationally, and lots of flexibility on timing. If you can. use the trailer service, you don't have to know how many cubic feet you need, and you save a bundle over using containers. The only downside to the trailer service is they don't currently have a storage option. So once it arrives, you are committed to loading it and then meeting the truck at the destination to unload it on their schedule. read more

Our journey started in Columbus Ohio. ABF dropped the cube and Moving Staffers loaded it. We had a good experience with both of those companies. ABF even picked the loaded container up the same day after it was loaded and as we headed to our Tucson destination. The Tucson crew of both Moving Staffers and ABF were very accommodating with our numerous move-in date changes. When we finally did move into our Tucson home, the container came as expected. Moving Staffers was late arriving and the crew that came was a bit cranky. Perhaps tired? As they opened the doors and removed the end partition, it was clear that our load had had a major shift. An avalanche was about to occur, so it required some delicate handling to keep the unloaders safe. It became clear that the packers in Columbus could have used more pads on our furniture. Many pieces were gouged from rubbing against each other during the trip. Luckily, though, nothing was broken, including the glass shade to our floor lamp, which was just wrapped in a moving blanket and placed on top of the pile in Columbus... :/ read more

Called the national number to schedule a move and spoke with the nicest service rep. Courteous, Professional and thorough--night and day compared to the guy I spoke with today at the local office. Rude, condescending and unable to answer my questions clearly. Asked him if they could provide a window of arrival so I could hire local movers. The guy said no, so I asked whether they would arrive before 6 pm. He said they cannot give me a time because they will drop off until the last one is delivered and won't stop until they do so there's no way of knowing. This in a condescending tone and constantly talking over me. I then said the reason I ask is that I live in a gated community and they won't let people in past 6. He then drolls on about how they work in many gated communities and there is nothing special about them. Like that was my point. Finally he says the trailer will arrive before 6. It's like he's some idiot who wants to prove he's important by being a jerk. The jerk part was accomplished to a tee. The important part is clearly a miss. read more

We moved the contents of a 10'x10' storage unit from Tucson, AZ to Columbus, OH. The month prior we contacted several brokers and movers and it was a very unpleasant experience. Prices were all higher than what we ultimately paid for U-Pack (granted the others included packing and loading); information was misleading (i.e. some movers were actually brokers); price points were confusing and not firm; reviews were often terrifying, etc. Looked at UHaul, Pods and U-Pack and settled on U-Pack. The experience was as close to perfect as I think you can get in this area. The trailer arrived on time in Tucson, we loaded and secured our stuff, we needed less space then we thought and the price was lowered to reflect this, the trailer was picked up and transported to our new storage unit in Columbus, the shipment arrived in good condition and we unloaded it, the trailer was picked up. Throughout the process the shipment progress is monitored online and we interacted with U-Pack to schedule and confirm dates. Service staff were always helpful and pleasant to work with. Terrible service. Ride dispatchers that hang up in your face. Did not show up to pick up cube and had to wait an entire week end to get someone one the phone despite the fact that I had set everything up before ha d. Waited for hours for them to pick up the cube and they never showed up. They are closed on the week ends when most people are moving and there is no one to handle any problems. The main head quarters are ride and unhelpful. Relocated from San Jose to Phoenix. Loved the idea but will not use them Again and will recommend to everyone in California not to use them. Horrible customer service. Moving is stressful and the last thing you need is a ride unreliable company with mean people. read more

This was a great moving experience! I went with U-Pack because I was on a limited budget, but this was my best moving experience of my life. I've moved cross country 4 times now, and within three city or state dozens of times, and I will always use U-Pack if I have to move again. Their prices were fair, my empty cube arrived promptly after a courteous call from the driver, and my packed cube arrived 4 days EARLIER than expected, with the contents in perfect condition. All the drivers and customer service agents I spoke with were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable, the cube was like a TARDIS (my nerds will get it)... Bigger on the inside. All at the best price out there... Even better pricing than renting a truck and driving it myself! Didn't have to be there when they picked up so we where able to start our journey to Alabama early. Tracked it while we were being tourists. Arrived as scheduled. Before we moved from CA to AZ, I researched just about every moving company. I found more bad than good, with the contracting out to other companies, storing items, and multiple loading and unloading. We were quoted by many companies anywhere between 800 and 960 cu. Ft. of space needed or 5500 to 9600 lbs. I knew these were not accurate, but if we were less than the quote we still wouldn't get any money back. With U-Pack, we were quoted at 17' of truck space, but only used 15' and were only charged for the 15' which was great. They contracted Old Dominion to do our actual moving and they were phenomenal! Always in contact with us, prompt, allowed us to pick when the truck would be dropped and picked up at both locations and got our items here in 3 days. Yes, we had to pay actual loaders to get our stuff into and out of the truck, but it was still less expensive than paying any of the other companies to do it all. Our stuff was never touched once we locked it up, which was a requirement for us, so we wouldn't get anything broken or stolen. Use U-Pack and just pay movers to load and unload. You'll get your items quickly with the least amount of human error! read more

A very handy way to move, the customer service in Arizona leaves a lot to be desired. The trailer was to arrive between 8:00am and 8:00 p.m. we called around 11:00 a.m. requesting a possible time for arrival of the trailer. The man that answered the phone was very rude and we were told that they were very busy and didn't have time to answer our question.Around 7:00p.m. that evening U-Pack called and said that the trailer was on it's way and in a rude way asked if we still wanted it. For what we paid for this service I believe we should have been treated better. The driver that delivered our furniture in Colorado was wonderful and went above and beyond to help me at the storage unit. Would I call them again? I would have to think about it. read more

We moved from Tucson to San Diego and had to keep our stuff in storage for two months. We found U-Pack thanks to a Google ad and it was a lot cheaper than some of the bigger companies. I was worried that there might be a catch, but the customer service agent assured me that they were able to keep their prices competitive because they own their own fleet of trucks and the moving containers. Everything went really well from the moment they delivered the empty containers in Tucson to the time they delivered the full containers to our new home in San Diego. Everything arrived in perfect condition (thanks to my father-in-law's amazing packing job) and on time. The one complaint was that they did not call us when they came to pick up the containers in Tucson but thankfully we were done loading them the night before so it was not a big deal for us. The container cubes are not very large so we had a struggle getting our 8-foot long sofa into the cube but managed to finally get it in after some contortions and serious muscle-power. Overall it was a very positive experience considering all thge moving horror stories I've heard and read online! read more

I used relocubes for moving, and had a great experience. No hidden fees! The customer service was great and easy to get ahold of every time I had a question. Likewise with the ABF service that actually transports the cubes. The online account makes it easy to see where the relocubes are. I was able to call and get the cubes dropped off earlier than initially quoted because I saw they made it to the destination a couple days earlier. The trailer I used for my move seemed okay until they unloaded my goods. Trailer had leaked on my wardrobe boxes, some boxes appeared to have been chewed by rodents and a couple were teaming with ants. I was unhappy to have to pay for a full months storage for 1 weeks use. I was told it was company policy but considering how expensive it was, found this to be a minus for this company. Had very good communication before, during, and after my cube was packed and moved from Tucson to Dayton. I packed and unpacked my cube at their Tucson site and Dayton site. I read the reviews about items shifting and items getting wet, so I packed everything in boxes, packed up to the very edge of the cube, packed boxes tight and level, and used bungee cords to secure lose items. I recommend covering your items with a plastic tarp. While I didn't see any water leakage (and it was pouring rain in Dayton), there were some odd white marks on the roof and doors of the cube, so whatever that is can get on your stuff. I also recommend wrapping all your items well in the boxes to prevent breakage. I used two round Master locks on the doors. My cube left Tucson on a Tuesday night and arrived in Dayton the next Monday. I was very happy. My only ding is that the office people on each side were not wearing masks inside. read more

I moved cross country using U-Pack and had a great experience from start to finish. On the delivery end (Tucson), I was able to get ahold of someone almost immediately when I called and everyone was SO friendly and accommodating. The guy who dropped off the pod took extra precaution to not disturb any of the plants around the driveway (which was quite a feat). They also held my pod for a few days because it arrived early. Some of my stuff definitely got moved around/smushed a bit during transit, but I only had one item (TOTAL) that was damaged at all. Pretty good for 2,500 miles of transit. I also found the pricing to be very accurate (they charged me exactly what they estimated) and the pods are very easy to load and unload. If I move again, I will definitely use U-pack. I moved from WA to AZ recently and my experience with UPack is very satisfying. I was hesitant to use this company because of the negative reviews on the Yelp.com. I don't have any furnitures so when I called the full service moving company they advised me to just use UPS/FedEx because their price line starts from $5000-$6000. One of my friend's fiancé recently shipped most of his stuff like that from North C. And spent around $700. So I researched and found UPack and spent $1075. The reservation was easy. I called the customer service and they were so nice and helpful. One cube arrived on time and the driver was super nice and helpful enough to give me the guide lines to load my boxes property. He advised for me to watch UPak's how to load you tube video. I loaded my boxes as tight as I can so they do not move around during the transition. Very important! The cube arrived one week earlier than I scheduled and they didn't charge extra fee because it was during the Christmas holidays. I called to schedule time of delivery and the cube got delivered on time. The driver was Again very kind and helpful. When I opened the cube - holding my breath- the boxes were there all neatly as I packed. I scheduled the cube to be picked up and it seems there is a little delay on that but I don't have to be present during the pick up so it works for me. My advise is that pack your stuff carefully and as tightly as possible. I am planning to use UPack again in the future. Thank you. read more

I used relocubes on the recommendation of many friends/academics who have made cross country moves. Although it was a stressful experience, none of my fears came to fruition and I was very happy with the professionalism of the drivers and office people with whom I interacted. I was also thrilled that my stuff arrived with only two pieces of wood furniture slightly damaged - which seemed like a minor miracle even though I packed very carefully. The one problem I have is that it was very hard to estimate when my relocubes would actually arrive at my destination, and ensure that I would be there to sign for them, as I was given very different times by different people at ABF. Although you can pay extra to ensure delivery on a certain day, I find tacking on fees like that and giving large windows for estimates for when the cubes will arrive to be unnecessarily stressful for customers. Given I know little about the freight industry, though, perhaps there are reasons for this. I used two relocubes in my move, each about 3/4 full. One of the really difficult things for me was picturing how all my stuff would actually fit in the cubes. I thought all the stuff I really wanted to go wouldn't fit, but I ended up having more than enough space for ALL my things (2 bedroom condo with double bed [box spring and mattress], 1.5 futons, and a day bed [2 mattresses]). I made sure all the furniture that could be was disassembled and neatly packed and that all my furniture drawers were also packed with clothes, dishes, and books. This worked really well for me. I think the key is to pack efficiently, with lots of padding and protection (old blankets - some bought at the last minute at Goodwill - worked well, so did having the movers wrap the furniture in plastic), and to pack evenly so that things don't have a lot of space to rock about. To make one of my cubes more even, I ended up backing up some extra boxes from my CSA with some large plastic bowls, office stuff, and hangers that I had not planned to take with me. This helped brace and even out my load. I hired separate movers to help me load and unload because I found it was cheaper than hiring ABF to be my middle man. I would recommend you do the same, though scheduling the unloading can be a bit difficult given you don't necessarily know when your cubes will arrive - luckily you have 3 business days in which to unload. At my destination I unexpectedly found my new driveway to be quite uneven because of a very large tree growing into it and muddy ground from recent heavy storms. However the driver who brought my pods carefully navigated all the obstacles and put my cubes where I hoped he would (and feared he'd say he would not be able to). The three separate drivers I interacted with were professional, courteous, and pleasant to talk to. As a female making a move on her own, I did not feel intimidated or talked down to in these situations, and my questions and wishes were observed. Overall, I'm so happy with the results of my move. However, the process was stressful, in part because of the unknowns of whether my stuff would fit into the cubes, whether everything would be broken during the process of being moved, and when my materials would finally arrive and be delivered at the destination. Most of these things were my own normal concerns people have with moving, but the timing issue was something that could have been helped by more narrow windows for delivery from ABF. In closing, I would use them again and highly recommend them to friends with the caveat that they pack and plan well. read more

Upack was scheduled for 6pm guaranteed pick up on 01/ 10/ 2017. No one showed up, calls were made and Upack did not answer. 01/11/17 new ownership took over the property putting me in violation with the new owner. Upack came at 11 AM and damaged my driveway. They ran the charge through right away before the delivery of the cubes. On 01/16/17 the driver un loaded the Cubes at the destanation and left immediately. The lock was so badly damaged we were unable to unlock the cube. The door door on the other cube was broken and damaged and we could not get that door opened either. We called and requested the driver return and open the doors. We were told they would return in 3 days to open the doors or I coud go to a home improvement shop and buy a cuter to open the doors. I had movers here waiting to unload and had to pay them for the time it took to open the cubes. read more

We incurred over $6,000 damage to our furniture because someone at terminal tampered with our load before it was shipped. We hired a local moving company (CDS) that had reccomended UPack many times with great success. They typically did so when one of their customers moved across country. When CDS delivered our load to the ABF Terminal, the ABF personnel insisted that they would install the bulkhead, which normally is installed right away. When our load arrived at the end of the move, and we removed the bulkhead, our goods were all disorganized, not tied down. It was obvious that someone tampered with our load at the starting terminal. Beware - it's not worth the risk with the Tucson ABF terminal!!!!!! read more

After my daughter graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson, I needed to figure out a way to move all her things back to Illinois. As she has a compact car, renting a UHaul and driving it across the country was not a viable option. I also looked into packing everything up and shipping via UPS or the USPS. Once again, way too expensive and not a viable option. I looked into one-way truck rentals (Penske was reasonable), but then reconsidered when I factored in the gas, hotels, meals, and 2+ days of driving across the country in the middle of winter. I finally found U-Pack and knew it was the way to go. The online reservation was simple. I called their 800 number to have some questions answered and found out they even offered a student discount. The price was very reasonable. I chose to drop off and pick up our belongings to save quite a bit of money. They gave me step-by-step information on how the move would be handled and what I needed to know to prepare for the move. I knew this was the best option for us. I had everything boxed in Rubbermaid totes so transporting our belongings into the U-Pack pod was very simple and quick. They said there was enough room for a one-bedroom apartment and we had room to spare. We loaded everything into the U-Pack in Tucson (it took about 15 minutes from check-in until we drove out of the parking lot). Within an hour, I got an email telling me that our pod was loaded onto a truck and had left for our destination. We expected our pod to arrive 5-7 days in Illinois. It arrived in 4. I got a phone call and an email informing me that it was ready to be unloaded. I drove out to the facility in Sauk Village, IL, the following morning. The unloading process took about 15 minutes from checking in with the office to getting our pod delivered (via forklift) to my car, unloading the pod, and driving out of the trucking center. I still am amazed at how convenient this was. I am very thankful that I found U-Pack. Another thing to consider: Rather than taking several trips back and forth to load/unload the U-Pack, I rented a moving van from Home Depot in Arizona and again in Illinois to be able to make one trip to the U-Pack facilities. They charged $19.95 for up to 90 minutes (plus return the gas tank filled). Home Depot doesn't charge a mileage fee. read more

U Pack was so much cheaper than the other 3 companies we got quotes from. Just one complaint and that is that it was not made clear to me when I made the reservation that we would not be able to access our container on an "as needed" basis while in storage. That created a big problem of having to go to where the container was supposed to be stored, and unloading it into a truck and then taking the stuff to another storage facility that we would have access to as our needs arose. If I didn't need to store the stuff in the container I'd definitely use U Pack again. But if you need storage with access make sure you unload the container at a traditional storage facility read more

U-Pack was WONDERFUL for our move. We moved from Pioneer, Ca to Catalina, Az. 900 miles. The customer service at both ends were outstanding. They delivered the truck when promised and picked it up promptly. We had several changes of dates due to the sell of our home and every time C/S was patient and understanding. We were reluctant to give a credit card number, but there was no issue with that. They do not charge until you are on your way. Also, they only charge for the space you use. It was good to know if we had too much stuff there would be more room available. Our originating station was Manteca and final in Tucson. Also used the 800 # on occasion and EVERYONE could not have been nicer. In my opinion customer service has lacked in the last few years, but this company has it TOGETHER! Others would do well to take note. Also, my husband checked with everything from us driving a rental truck to a huge truck doing it all and this seemed the most practical. Would give 6 stars if possible!! read more
