I really hate to have to write this review, but I feel like it has to be said. I used Excel Movers at the beginning of last month. The move was really hard because I have a lot of items but I'm very organized. ,I managed to get through the last bin and I realized there was a bin missing. Now normally it takes a lot of time to get everything sorted so I wanted to make sure I could get into the last bit before I made the call, but I know now it's apparent that I have items missing, all of my glassware, a Temptations cookware some other items, but I know for sure because I don't have any thing any drinking glasses. I had bought the new glassware before I moved. So I called the owner and let him know. He said he will call me back he never did. I've called to leave messages and none of those calls have been returned. I am estimating what was in that van was probably worth about $700. I'm really sad that I won't be able to use Excel Movers any longer, I suggest that if you do make sure that whatever you have moved, arrived at your destination. read more

I have used these movers the few times when we moved but this last time didn't go so well. We moved on July 8th and when we moved, they shattered our glass on our washing machine. They did apologize for it and said they will fix it. They kept it on their truck to take it to their shop to fix it. Today is now a week and still no washing machine. They advised that they put a milk crate full of straps on it and then it shattered and glass pieces fell into our washer. I feel something toppled on the glass and it shattered. I tried calling and texting when we will get it back but so far they have no idea. He did joke around and say you can go to a laundry mat but that will cost money. We want our washer back so we can wash clothes and bedding. This time was not a good experience then the other times we used them in the past. read more

BEWARE... First off, I am ex-military so I have dealt with many professional movers. I hired these guys based on family recommendation. They were late the day of the move, which pretty much ruined the plans on our to-do list for the day. It took them 6 hours to do the 12 mile move. None of the previous movers took anywhere near this long. No furniture protectors were used, resulting in scratches on several pieces of our furniture. I don't have time to list the examples of carelessness of the work done. While they were loading the truck, I was busy on the phone and computer coordinating personal business relating to the move. I was interrupted several times by Mike trying to make casual conversation. I thought I cuss a fair amount, but I have never heard the use of the f-word so many times. I did not hire these people to poll me on my political opinions; I hired them to move my furniture. Upon inspecting their work, I found several large scratches and dents on the walls of my brand new house. Stay away from this company. By far the worst moving experience I have ever had. This company was moving my neighbor this morning and they parked the truck so that it was blocking my driveway. Before they unloaded the ramp, I said to the one guy, "You're not going to park there, right? You're blocking my driveway and I need to leave for work in five minutes". He turned around and said, "B*tch, you don't have to scream at me". I said "excuse me" and he said, "you heard me". It devolved from there, especially when I asked if it was a regular thing for them to block driveways and not at least check in with the people whose driveways they're blocking. When they finally moved the truck, they moved it the bare minimum so I had to hop the curb to get out of my driveway. I'm sure they're very proud of the petulant and unprofessional response because ha ha they got one up on me. If they are going to act like this out on a public street with people watching, I can only imagine how they treat your stuff when people aren't around to watch their every move. I wouldn't risk using them because I'm sure their response to being asked to take more care of your belongings would be met with the same petulant temper tantrum they exhibited this morning. I'm going to guess that I'll have cigarette butts in my driveway, and possibly a couple of broken light bulbs if not stuff missing from my shed. read more

Loved these guys! They moved my grandma- who had a million boxes marked fragile, and a glass table into her new place with no problems. And an hour faster than expected! The owner Mike was awesome, he kept her smiling with some funny small talk but never stopped moving. His assistants Mike and Jason were also very good, professional and hard working. I highly recommend these guys- they even helped the arrange the furniture when we realized some things had to be switched. They were very prepared with wardrobe boxes, lots of dollies and blankets. The main reason I'm not giving them a five-star review is that I've never used a moving company before, so I have nothing to compare them to. But based on my experience with them and them alone, I'd say they're a great company. They didn't overbook themselves, so they actually ran ahead of schedule the day I used them. They were also very fast and friendly. I used them because a couple of friends recommended them, and I can see why they had such a favorable opinion of them. Their affordability is a major selling point. For a little less money you could get your own panel truck from U-Haul or Ryder and do the move yourself. But by the time you gas it up, pay the rental bill, and provide pizza and beer for the friends you recruit, you might as well pay Excel Movers to do the heavy lifting for you. You'll have more energy left over for unpacking--and that's well worth the extra money you'll pay. read more

The work was not easy, with a steep and long driveway to the destination (which we had missed). Moved a few miles a few weeks ago. Only moved part of the previous house since I was moving out of the roommate's house. Hadn't done a very good job of organizing or packing. We've used this company several times in the past years and they were ok. This latest move was a disaster, movers were late, one of the workers looked like he was extremely stoned, blood shot eyes in a fog, stumbling around and confused. Another employee had a smart ass answer for anything we said to him or asked him to put something in a specific place or room-real attitude problem. He put a large soda cup on a piece of furniture that cost over 1200.00 and he thought that was ok and had a smart ass response to remove it, His response was " its a styrofoam cup-wont hurt nothing" Then he moved it to the floor and was pissed off that we asked him to move it. While furniture was being taken out of the old house they were very sloppy, running into bull-nose on corners, chipping drywall etc. They also didn't have enough packing blankets. During the move out i noticed my small step stool was missing, looked all through the house and couldn't find it, i asked them if they had seen it and guess what , when i looked in the the truck it hanging the wall, i guess they were going to steal my step stool. They damaged multiple pieces of furniture and could give a shit less. Cherry headboard dented on top, large southwestern dresser broke the corner nearly off, dropped a white craft cabinet off the ramp and shattered the lower corner, many other pieces after the fact found scratches and chipped,dented and scratched paint and drywall thru out. The owner Mike was notified and told the employee to take $200.00 bucks off the bill and most likely after they jacked it up $200.00 to offset the allowance. DONT USE THIS COMPANY EVER, NEVER! What an amazing experience. Sam and Scott packed up our whole house in just over 4 hours. They came when they said they would and worked hard to get it all done. The next day the 3 movers came and had us loaded and unloaded in 4.5 hours. Scott and Amy returned to unpack us and were in and out in an hour. We had a not-so-good experience with this company. First of all the lady Sam who came the day before to pack our belongings used old boxes with other writing on it. She failed to cross out the old identification on boxes so when we unpacked we were confused and often the things in the box did not contain what it said it was. The movers did not do a good job, either. When we went back to the "empty" house we found many things which the movers forgot to move. And when the walk-thru was done, our agent found more things that should have been included in the move. Also, they were sloppy in placing clothes on hangars into the closets. I have used Mike and team for 3 moves now. Overall they have done a really good job! Nothing has been broken or scratched badly, and they have been really quick!! Much less expensive than other companies I have used in the past. I have moved 14 times in 15 years so I have a lot of experience with movers!! Definitely not the MOST professional company out there.... Not sure if they offer insurance (it's never been offered to me), a lot of cussing, and they have been late to show up for all my moves. I referred my dad to them for a move this week and they said they would be there at 830am and now he's been told they booked another move in front of him and they won't be there until a couple hours later than promised which is messing up his moving plans and I am a little embarrassed that I am the one to refer him. I would say... I would definitely recommend this company if you are looking for a good price, a good laugh with the guys and your house to be moved quickly and efficiently.... My elderly mom recently sold one house and bought a new one in Tucson. She wanted to do a door-to-door move, as well as have new floors put into her new house before she moved in. Timing was very tricky. Mike Collins worked with my mom so that she could make it happen. His company picked up her furniture on Saturday. Then he allowed her things to sit on the truck over the weekend, and he delivered it at her convenience on Monday, after most of the floors were done. The floor installers were still there working on the kitchen, and the moving team worked around them. Everyone was very gracious and personable, and it was an extremely pleasant experience. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the movers weren't always as careful with my mom's furniture as she would have liked, although there was no significant damage (one lamp broke at the base, something the movers said is a common occurrence. read more
