I left a great review last time in 2022 but my experience this time was horrible it was almost triple what I was charged last time and DOUBLE the estimate this time, the mover I had was incredibly slow and didn't follow instructions and made excuse after excuse for why they took so long. He wrapped things I told him not to and not just wrapped them but blankets, bands and plastic wrap. When I asked him about it when he walked by me with 5 things that I had told him didn't need to be wrapped, (because it was taking WAY longer than it should) he told me he needed to protect his shins!!! He also claimed that the move was 100 feet from door to truck (not 50 ft as I had told them). Images show how close it was. When I spoke to the office manager after the move and told her how unhappy I was with how this move was handled, she informed me that the person who did the move was the owner and her husband and that he FORBID her to give me any kind of discount. I'd recommend looking at other movers who are in the area, because you have zero recourse with this company and they don't stand behind their work or follow your instructions. read more

Where do I begin? First and foremost, I do not recommend moving buddies. It took them a total of 13 hours and 45 minutes to finish our move. Here is what our move consisted of: Downstairs: Kitchen table with 4 chairs 45 boxes 7 bookshelves(that could go as is) Small desk Upstairs: King size bed (that did need to be taken apart) 2 twin beds (that did not need taken apart) Small entertainment center Second small desk 1 small book shelf 2 kids dresser 1 medium dresser 1 large dresser 2 night stands 1 toy box 2 recliners 22 boxes I didn't think this would have been a difficult task. When we moved into this house one year ago we had all the same stuff save for a few things we've bought through our time here. But no furniture purchases since we moved in. At first everything looked like it was going great. The guys were super nice, and we paid for 3 movers to get the job done quickly. They arrived right on time and started at 8:15am. The movers looked around the house with me so I could show them what was going, and they told me 4 to 4.5 hours to finish this job, and that's what they told the lady they were on the phone with. Fast forward to 4 pm and they finally finished loading the above mentioned items. Mind you, just a year ago me and my friend loaded and unloaded everything just the two of us with a uhaul and an F-150 in less than 8 hours. This includes taking stuff apart and putting it back together. When the movers showed up to our new place, a good 75% of the items they loaded were just going to be unloaded into the garage. The only thing they needed to move upstairs were the 3 beds, dressers, toy box and recliners. Everything else I was going to take care of. It took them another 5 hours to finish unloading. During the unloading time the 3 movers got into a heated argument and nearly came to blows outside of my house before one of the guys just upped and left leaving us with only 2 movers now. Mind you, they were cursing and fighting in front of my 2 small children. This did not sit well with us, so my wife called the company and the lady who answered was not very helpful. After explaining what happened, my wife could hear a guy yelling in the background on the phone at my wife and the lady trying to repeat what he said in a nice customer service voice. I'll tell you this guy is lucky I wasn't on the phone. You DONT get to talk to my wife like that whether you're speaking to her directly or through someone. They turned around and tried to blame it on us with how long it was taking them to finish and telling us how they had to cancel another job and we have more stuff than they bargained for even though they walked the house with me and told me it would only take 4-4.5 hours. I would have done this move myself had I not been recovering from knee surgery after getting hurt in a Judo competition, so I needed movers to help. I seriously feel they were milking the clock they would move some things and then I wouldn't see them for 20 mins. Then it apparently took 2 big dudes to fold some blankets which took about another 30 mins to fold a few blankets. I understand they needed to be folded, but does it take 2 guys to fold it? I mean I can fold a blanket by myself in about 30 seconds. Let's move on to the pictures I have. First the wall. While bringing down a nightstand, a mover dropped it and dented the wall at the windows frame. I mean stuff happens, but dude didn't even apologize or check to make sure the nightstand was good. I had to. Next, while unloading another mover dropped a TV off the lift, again no apologies or anything. Luckily, the tv is old and we've just had it in the closet this past year, so I don't care about it. It's just the principle of the matter. My buddy told me to take my security camera footage and send it to the news about these guys. I wanted to do it, but my wife talked me out of it and just wanted to be done with these guys. I still might send my footage about the fight and then dropping my stuff, and to show how long it took them to get everything done. All in all, I wanted to give a 1 star, but they did call back and we got a 15% discount. It was something, but not enough. My wife didn't want me to post, but I feel I needed to. Also might send my security footage to the news. People should know. Just be cautious when going with this company. read more

I was hoping that I would be writing a 5 star review. But the move did not turn out the way we expected or was quoted. Time management is one of the top most important factor as we were being charged an hourly rate. And due to poor time management our bill was $300 over and 2 hours longer then the quote given from the owner Jim. Here was our experience: Jim came and gave a thorough quote. He was very professional and easy to talk to. He eased alot of my anxiety of moving. The office was also very professional and Elana was very friendly. The online quote and payment was easy to navigate. I received a couple courtesy call reminders. The day of the move I received a call from Elana saying they were running behind. However, it was only 20 minutes from the ETA and the driver called to let me know they were on there way. So far up to this point Moving Buddies was 5 star. 3 men arrived. They started taking pictures of the items. My husband stayed behind while they packed the truck. It took almost an hour to wrap and put a 72 inch tv in a box, half hour for a 55 inch tv and and hour to wrap a small sectional. They were definitely thorough and careful while packing...but there seemed to be no urgency to get the truck packed. My husband was getting anxious at how slow the were going. And wanted to jump in and just do it himself. They could of still packed carefully and hustle at the same time. The quote given by Jim was 6.5 hrs and it took them 8.5 hours. I asked one of the workers why it took an extra 2 hours when the quote was given by the owner. He said it was because they had to double wrap the furniture because of COVID-19. It may of taken a little longer to double wrap. But 2 hours seems excessive! I'm guessing if we paid a flat moving rate and not hourly....they would of hustled! We are buying a house within the next 6 months and were planning on using Moving Buddies. Im just not sure any more. The were professional and thorough. But in the end we were charged more then planned and a longer moving day. I dont want to risk that happening again. I understand a quote is jus an estimate. But from reading the previous reviews I felt comfortable in the quote Jim gave us. read more

I would highly recommend Moving Buddies for any of your moving needs. Dakota and Manny arrived promptly and proceeded to get to work. They accommodated any needs that I may have had and also were very careful with all the items transported from my home. Once at the new home Manny even fixed my wooden bed frame to make it like new!!! They even tried as hard as they could to get a large sofa around a corner and into one of my back bedrooms. They gave it quite the effort but just couldn't get it to go. Dakota even took items that I deemed trash out to the side yard. All in all a very professional company and crew. Moving Buddies is great: supplies on the truck if more boxes are needed etc, and they will pack for you if you request that. Good workers, on time, professional and personable. I had a small, inexpensive dresser that was damaged in transit. The manager offered a discount for the error which was equivalent or more than the cost of this piece of furniture. The large, wooden futon frame I have was transported without a scratch, as was all of my personal art collection. We've used this company twice, the first move was great, the second move was a nightmare. The second move took way too long and one of the movers ended up getting into an argument with the manager of our storage unit, it was embarrassing. These guys are hard workers! They came to our house and made sure they understood what we needed done. They got to work immediately and carefully wrapped every single item that needed it. The moved a couple of really large and heavy items with great care. They checked in regularly with us to ensure they were doing what we wanted. They kept me informed the entire time and I never felt like I didn't know what to expect from them. When they were done, they met with us again to ensure they had packed everything that we wanted. Four men and two trucks showed up on time for a local move. They worked hard and efficiently throughout the day (8+ hrs of work), really only taking a break when I bought them lunch as a thank-you (they didn't charge me for the time spent eating). They took care of our boxes and wrapped all the furniture in blankets and plastic. Their hourly rate was a fair bit lower than the competitors and they didn't charge any materials or administrative fees. They added one hour to the bill for travel time, which is consistent with quotes I received from two other movers. Overall, I was extremely happy with them and I plan to use them again. Also note, of the three quotes we received, Jim was the only one who estimated the time correctly. The other two companies underestimated by a factor of two. I suggest paying very little attention to the total estimate $ but rather look at the hourly rate, extra fees, and number of men. It's safe to assume that each man can move the same amount of stuff per hour and the hourly rate per man varied by as much as 50% over my three quotes. In the end, Moving Buddies saved me quite a bit of money and did an excellent job. read more

Our realtor referred us to Moving Buddies. We used a local moving company a few years ago to move our one bedroom less than a mile and it was around $220. Moving Buddies moved our two bedroom 6 miles away for $306! They also gave us a 10% discount for donating to a food drive... Which means they basically paid us $30 and saved us a trip to the food bank to drop off all the food we didn't want to move with us. Renting a U-haul would've cost us about the same amount and we still would've had to move everything ourselves and pay for gas.
