My appointment was for 9AM and this business is a ~5 minute drive from my residence, according to Google Maps. Moving is stressful enough. There are deadlines that have to be met involving multiple companies and people. For instance, the U-Haul truck I rented for this move had to be returned in another city by a certain time. My family who volunteered to transport my car needed to be back in time to rest for their jobs. Showing up on time is part of being a professional. Or at least that's what I was taught. I decided to ask the movers to leave after the 1 hour minimum, even though we had more boxes to transport. They failed to follow directions and even took apart my table without asking. It just wasn't worth the trouble. When it was time to pay, I was initially billed for the wrong time. I'm not sure if the man was trying to rip me off by playing stupid, but from start to finish, it left a bad taste in my mouth. It would be like me showing up to work late, then asking my boss for a raise for the work I didn't do. If you need moving help in the Valley, I strongly recommend Rockstar Moving. The movers in Germany did a fantastic job, the shipment through all points was great until, Gulf Moving Systems got my shipment. First, I had to contact them. They never initiated any contact, even though they had my information because they had just delivered one crate from a in state shipment the previous week, also delayed an extra 10 days due to their lack of scheduling. Back to my current issue. My house hold goods shipment was delayed from July 23,to the 27th, and then to August 3. When August 3 came and the furniture didn't, I called Mandy at the San Benito offices of Gulf Moving Systems. She let me know that the shipment of six crates had arrived and scheduled delivery for August 9th. Again a delay, but OK. We changed our departure back to Germany from August 10th to the 13th to allow us time to unpack and inspect the shipment, based on Mandy's promise that the shipment would arrive on the 9th. This change cost us $1200.00. Today, August 6th, we were contacted by the transfer agent asking why we hadn't scheduled our delivery. ???? We called Gulf Coast and they denied scheduling for the 9th, then admitted that they had penciled us in, but canceled because of paperwork issues. They can't deliver now until the 17th and still are asking for paperwork. Very unprofessional, and unacceptable, non responsive behavior. I do not recommend this agent for anything even a local move. I am complaining to the US Govt---Senator Ted Cruz, and through the Military. Social Media should reflect this debacle as well.
