They treated me and my stuff like it was family and went above and beyond - putting my stuff where I needed it, setting up beds and washer and dryer. I just finally have had enough of Gulf Moving Systems. I am attached to the US DoD and had a military move from Germany to Harlingen. The movers in Germany did a fantastic job, the shipment through all points was great until, Gulf Moving Systems got my shipment. First, I had to contact them. They never initiated any contact, even though they had my information because they had just delivered one crate from a in state shipment the previous week, also delayed an extra 10 days due to their lack of scheduling. Back to my current issue. My house hold goods shipment was delayed from July 23,to the 27th, and then to August 3. When August 3 came and the furniture didn't, I called Mandy at the San Benito offices of Gulf Moving Systems. She let me know that the shipment of six crates had arrived and scheduled delivery for August 9th. Again a delay, but OK. We changed our departure back to Germany from August 10th to the 13th to allow us time to unpack and inspect the shipment, based on Mandy's promise that the shipment would arrive on the 9th. This change cost us $1200.00. Today, August 6th, we were contacted by the transfer agent asking why we hadn't scheduled our delivery. ???? We called Gulf Coast and they denied scheduling for the 9th, then admitted that they had penciled us in, but canceled because of paperwork issues. They can't deliver now until the 17th and still are asking for paperwork. Very unprofessional, and unacceptable, non responsive behavior. I do not recommend this agent for anything even a local move. I am complaining to the US Govt---Senator Ted Cruz, and through the Military. Social Media should reflect this debacle as well. read more

We used this company when we moved from Brownsville to San Antonio last year in July. First of all, the company scheduled the wrong date for the move. They were able to get us packed up but they started right after noon and ended at about midnight. I specifically told them when we needed to leave and they went ahead and headed out without me. I obviously didn't have anyone to receive them at the house in San Antonio so they wanted us to reschedule the delivery for the next day. We wouldn't have had any furniture to sleep in at the house if we would reschedule. Luckily, my husband was able to meet them to deliver. The company was hired to pack everything in the house. They did but one of them, which was the head of the group was in such a bad mood. Not only was he unfriendly but he packed up items that could have been damaged and were. The washer was not moved with the bolts needed, therefore the washer didn't work and we had to purchase a new one. Our furniture was scratched and some the glass items were broken. Things that were fragile were packed with things that weren't and were damaged when we opened the boxes. I contacted them and they took over 6 weeks to pay us only $300 for damages probably worth over $1000. I would never recommend them to anyone since they were careless and rude. Some of these guys were nice but our items were damaged regardless. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! Worst customer service ever! Dragging, not taking care of the furniture. Trying to talk to the crew, they ignored and were very rude due to being tired and frustrated from previous job as they told me. For a service that is charged by the hour, you shouldn't get a crew that extremely exhausted and taking their time. To top it off they were more than two hours late with no communication after I was told they would be at the house by 2. Furniture damaged and did not care nor apologized. Terrible experience. My move manager from this business, Pascual Pena, scheduled my packing for Monday on Memorial Day and then they would pick up the load the following day, Tuesday. I reminded Pascual Pena it was a holiday and he said it wasn't a problem. I called him the Friday before to confirm and he said his team would be there. I waited 3 hours, on Memorial Day, and no one showed. Contacted Pascual Pena who said he forgot to schedule packers but they would pack and load the following day and instead of sending the usual 3 packers, he would send 5. On Tuesday morning only 3 packers showed up. I called Pascual Pena and he said " Oh no, I said I would see how it goes and send 2 more men later." Two more packers showed up 3 hours later and did not even stay till the job was done. Pascual Pena told me my belongings were going to be packed and loaded onto a shuttle truck and taken to his business to be loaded on a semi trailer the same day. I was moving from Harlingen, TX to St. Louis, MO. I was given an 8-10 day window for my belongings to arrive in St. Louis, although Pascual Told me he has "never seen a load take more than three days." I emailed Pascual, at one point during this period,to touch base and he said that Bekins still had 3 days left to get my furniture to St Louis. What Pascual DIDN'T TELL ME IS MY BELONGINGS WERE STILL IN SAN BENITO (2 weeks later) SITTING IN HOT STORAGE BECAUSE THERE WAS NEVER A DRIVER ASSIGNED TO TAKE MY BELONGINGS TO ST LOUIS! I found this out the following day when I called Bekins corporate office. I asked why I was not informed of this and corporate told me it was my move manager's, Pascual Pena, responsibility. Bekins corporate only follows/manages loads over 5000 pounds. A driver was finally assigned to pick up my load, date and time were set. I personally spoke to the driver on multiple occasions who felt badly for me because of how I had been treated. He showed up at Pascual Pena's business at the established date and time but no one was there and no one answered the phone. He waited 3 hours and then called me to let me know he couldn't wait there for much longer. I was able to contact Pascual who said he would send someone to the business. Of course, once again, Pascual fabricated an excuse as to why no one was there. Very unprofessional business. I will never use them again. Even Bekins Corporate and the Bekins load driver told me the entire situation was not handled in a professional manner. We just moved from the Austin area to Harlingen. We needed some movers, there was no way we were moving a piano etc at our age. I looked on line for movers and most places wanted to do an itemized inventory. Every single box, shovel, chair, etc..... Your kidding me right? So when I contacted Gulf Moving System on line I got a call and text back within the day. I let him know the major pieces and how many rooms basically. He had a quote for me within a day or two. We scheduled a tennitive date based on my closing date. Being that we we're moving 5 hours away with 2 closing dates and having to be out of one house before we could get into the next house I asked if they could keep my stuff an extra day and they were gracious enough to oblige. I packed all my stuff up and had stuff at the house and a storage unit to load up. They came at 9:30am and loaded the house. Each item was carefully blanketed and packed. The men were very professional and careful. Even though we had double plastic wrapped the box springs and mattresses they had boxes they put them in also. After loading the house we drove to the storage unit and loaded that up too. By 3:30pm they were on the road. Two days later the men came and unloaded and reassembled. Got it done in 3 to 4 hours. They wore uniforms and were very professional, attentive, kind and did an awesome job. They told us when we got unpacked they would come pick up the boxes too. A week later we had a pickup full of broke down boxes and packing materials. Sure enough I let Eddie know we were ready and a couple hours later they picked it all up. PS after unpacking everything one t-cup was the only thing damaged. My bad packing, not even their fault. I would recommend this company to family and friends Eddie and the men were all great! read more
