We moved from Olathe to San Diego and had U-Pack deliver a 26-foot trailer to our home. We're now in our new house and everything about this experience has been as promised and on time. If I have to move I'm definitely calling U-Pack again. read more

U-Pack not only provided excellent service, they saved me. My movers canceled day of and I was scrambling to find a solution. My friend recommended U-Pack and it added some logistics because I have to find loaders but they had availability to drop off my cube the next day! The whole process from ordering, getting a quote, delivery coordination, pick up coordination, transit progress, obtaining weight tickets, delivery coordination, deliver and pick up again was so smooth and flawless. Everyone that I dealt with was amazing from the original person who gave my quote, to someone who walked me through the process later of how to check the move plan, to the people at the dispatch centers and the drivers. Total pros and they have the system down! I highly recommend U-Pack. My whole move was on track thanks to them. read more

My fiance and I recently made the move from Kansas City to Portland, Oregon. We looked at multiple options for moving, including driving a u-haul and/or renting a moving van. The relocube through U-Pack was the best deal if you take into consideration cost and the process of driving 27 hours with a u-haul. We had a pretty tight timeline for unloading our cube in Portland, so we opted for the guaranteed delivery option and it arrived at 9:00am when they had given us a delivery window of 8:00am-12:00pm. Every step in the process was great. The customer service when we called to ask questions about reserving the cube was extremely friendly and helpful. The drivers that dropped the cubed off in both Kansas City and Portland were polite and friendly. We followed the packing instructions and were sure our cube was packed tight. Not a single thing moved or broke on the journey. The cube fit easily in my fiance's driveway in Kansas City and fit perfectly into a street parking spot at our new apartment in Portland. It was clean and spacious (the 8 foot height gives you a lot of room you don't initially realize). We fit a bed/box spring/frame/headboard, a couch, a kitchen table, a bike, 3 box wardrobes of clothes, 3 large boxes of personal belongings, and tons of boxes of wedding shower and wedding gifts into the cube. At the end, I was worried we would not have enough stuff to fill it tightly enough to prevent anything moving. I would definitely use U-Pack again! read more

U-Pack as the company is good. They will work with you and make things right if it is not. However, they partner with ABF Freight as their drivers. These guys are horrible. Lets begin. I have a guaranteed delivery of 8-10am. The morning of, i call to confirm delivery like i was asked to do just in case. I was told that she will have the driver load up my trailer and he will be there within the hour. That was at 7:30am. 9am rolls around. No trailer. So i wait. 9:45 rolls around. Still no truck. so i called them back. ABF freight says the trucker is loading up now and will be there. I told them about my guaranteed delivery time. They didnt know anything about it now. Surprisingly, the guaranteed time is now removed from my dashboard on the U-Pack site and now says 8am to 5pm. Again, promises it will be there. I call U-Pack. The guy tries to help me by calling ABF himself. he is told the same story. 10:30 rolls around. Still no truck. I call them back. I get an answer of the driver is still pumping fuel. he will be there soon. The trailer finally arrives at 10:50am. My movers that i paid by the hour were just sitting and waiting. lost of money for nothing. So i call U-Pack back. They made it right by crediting me 225.00 bucks off my move. So that was a good thing. Fast forward. I get to my new location which is many states away. I schedule for a drop off. On the day prior to my drop off, i get a call saying they cannot drop off my trailer. So i told them that i need my stuff as it is a friday and they dont do drop offs on a weekend. this means i would have to wait until Monday. This also throws off my movers. The lady was kind enough to pull strings and get my trailer to be dropped off on a saturday. Saturday comes around. The driver drops off my trailer. All is well? not so fast. ABF forgot to include a ramp. so we got no ramp to get our stuff off the trailer. The trailer is a really high trailer too i might add. The ramp is a MUST if you want your heavy items unloaded. So i call ABF back. The guy trys to wiggle his way out of it by saying how far i was from his location and that it would take at least 4 hours. i told him i dont have 4 hours. 4 hours is what i paid my movers and they are already 1 hour into it already. so the guy does some magic and finally gets a ramp to me within 2 hours. Better than nothing. So. now do you guys think this is good? not yet. now i cant get this damn trailer off my lot! they wont come pick it up. i call everyday and is told they will come today. same story everyday. nothing. as i am typing this review., the trailer is still sitting in my parking lot. how nice right? 3 days later. still nothing. Again, U-PACk is good. but ABF freight is a bunch of we dont care truckers who just blow you off and tell you what you want to hear. read more

Last year I performed this exact move without incident or delay, but this year is a HOT MESS w/Upack. My relocube was picked up in Utah on Monday Sept. 7th and according to the tracking had arrived in Kansas City, MO on the morning of Friday Sept. 11th. My cube has been sitting in Kansas City, MO since and it is now Tuesday Sept 15th with no change or movement. I contacted the customer service and they don't know why this has not moved forward. I am at my new home living out of a suitcase on the floor wondering if I have to drive to Kansas City, MO?! I could have moved this faster and easier myself this time... WHAT A HORRIBLE SERVICE! NEVER AGAIN! read more

Cost effective? Yes! Pleasant to deal with? Yes! Reliable as to when your truck may show up so you can schedule your movers? Uh... questionable. I love that you have the time to pack and load the trailer. I love that I don't have to try to drive a huge ass truck and kill innocent bystander vehicles on the roadways of America. But here's where things got weird. I had a unique situation where I had to get half of my load into an apartment and the other half in storage. It cost me a little bit extra to make that happen, but it was necessary and worth it to do it that way. But the problem is, I couldn't tell the movers when to arrive because I was unable to get a time from the dispatch as to when the trailer was going to arrive to unload. The driver Mark however was a Godsend and helped me move a lot of items out of the truck and stayed over two hours while we waited forever for the movers to arrive because I wasn't able to give them a precise time to arrive... and naturally they got stuck in the heavy traffic of Nashville. So kudos to Mark. He was magnificent. The other negative is that when the trailer arrived, we didn't have a ramp. For some reason it was taken out of the truck, which made the unloading process a little more difficult to manage for the movers. Other than that everything was fine and worked out pretty well. I just wish there was a better way to determine when your trailer was going to arrive. read more

We moved from Kansas City to San Diego. It took us 4 months to find a home, so our belongings were stored on a truck in a storage lot until we were ready to move into our home. It was the hottest days of late summer and the coldest days of early fall before we recieved our things in California. Not one single thing was broken, lost or damaged. Everything was packed so well and the truck protected everything from all kinds of weather, heat and cold. I could not have been more satisfied. Pickup and delivery of the trailer was so easy and prompt. I also really had wonderful luck with the affiliate moving company recommended by UPack: Miving Staffers. Both the loading and unloading process was very quick, efficient and seamless. I highly recommend UPack and Moving Staffers. read more

The drivers were wonderful & very knowledgeable. The emphasis does need to be made, (if you want a delivery of the cube) to make that appointment in 24hrs advance, regardless if your cube did not make to the terminal. I was not able to get my cube until 48 hrs later! Once they sent the text my cube was there, it was already after hours, Very inconvenient. read more

This location was the starting point for my 2,000 mile move. The gentleman who delivers boxes for the Kansas City terminal was exceptionally helpful and pleasant. He helped us get a box next day so that we could start packing immediately for our short-notice move, and was incredibly accommodating when our apartment complex kept changing their minds about where to put it. The online quote system and follow-up call with U-Pack's 1-800 number was quick and easy, and I was pleasantly surprised not to find any hidden fees on my final bill. I was charged exactly what I was originally quoted online, right down to the last penny! Finally, and by far the most important thing for us, U-Pack said they could complete our cross-country move in 4-6 business days, versus 6-10 for Pods, U-Box, or Pack Rat. Amazingly, they beat their own estimate. Three business days after pick-up, I received a notice that our box had arrived at the destination terminal and could be scheduled for delivery. I couldn't be happier with ABF U-Pack, and I would choose them again over any other moving box company. read more

Super impressed with this company. After going back and forth trying to decide between using a full blown moving company or upack, I'm so glad I chose the upack and I'll use it again if I ever have to move states again. Everyone was on time with drop offs and pick ups, the company contacted me with confirmation phone calls on both ends, and the employees who dropped off and picked up the upack were all very helpful and friendly. Out of my entire move, I had 1 old lamp that broke...and I moved halfway across the country. The upacks are deceiving- they hold a lot! This was way more convenient because it fits in a parking spot so it was super close to my apartments to load and unload. Moving companies gave me huge windows of when they might have my stuff dropped off. This company gives you a shorter timeframe. You have the option to pay a bit more for a specific date and time....I did that and it was still cheaper (and easier!) then a full blown moving company. I simply hired help on either end to help load and unload. Really, it's a no-brainer. read more

I can relate to anyone out there deciding which moving company would be the best for their moving situation. There are companies where you hire movers to help you move and they pack on their truck or companies that you pack and they move your belongings. Again, there are a lot of factors that play in your selection. For my family, we moved from Kansas City, MO to Greenville, SC. I have 4 children, with 1 year old twins. It was important that I drive with my family and select a moving company to move my belongings. I contemplated the various other companies and needed something affordable. I selected u-Pack, based on the quote, amount of space I needed, and most importantly, the positive reviews online. The only negative comments I saw, were related to broken items during the move. However, I realize that you are the one responsible packing your items securely. You must pack your belonging yourself and ensure that everything is secure, tied down very well. I discovered that PODS charges 3,000.00 for a 16 ft x 8 x 8 storage container...when UPACK quoted me 2,400.00 for 23'ft x 8 x8 trailer. Everyone I worked with was very polite, informative and went the extra mile. You have up to 3 days loading the trailer (which does not include holidays or weekends). I had them drop it to my driveway. The trailer fit nicely and comes with a ramp to move your belongings in. I packed the "front" with my heavy and least important belongs first. You can fill it up to the top and there are places along the side for straps and ropes. Then you call them to tell them when to pick up the trailer for delivery to your destination location. One of the last items is a "bulk head", which is a wall that you attach at the very end of your belongs to help keep them secure and this is where they will measure how many feet you used. They only charge you for the amount of length of the trailer you used. So, I ended up saving ~300.00 since I used only 20 feet. You can track the trailer online at their website. The told me 3-5 business days and it arrived at our destination location on-time. When i opened it up, all my belongings were fine, because they were securely packed. The drivers at both locations were very polite and knowledgeable. Efficiently delivered the trailer with out any issues. The dispatchers will call you when the trailer arrives and set up a day that is mutually agreeable. Very accommodating. The will charge your credit card once it arrives at the destination location when they call you to discuss a delivery time. It was the easiest, affordable and best moving decision based on our needs. I would highly recommend them if you decide to move long distance. Only concerns: 1. It's a 28 ft trailer that will be parked on your street or driveway, it fit my driveway just perfect. 2. When they are going to park that trailer in a residential neighborhood, be sure to let your neighbors know to not park on the street to make it easier for the driver 3. Secure your belongings--get straps, rope, 2 x 4 lengths and a dolly to help pack your belongings. read more

I paid $300 for guaranteed delivery and was told the trailer would arrive between 8 and 12. I scheduled movers for 1pm to unload it based on their assurance that it would be there. When I called around 11:30 I was told it would be arriving around 1:30, at 1:30 it was 2:30, then 4, it finally arrived around 4:40. And they forgot to put a ramp on, the driver offered to go back and get one but the terminal was an hour each away and it was rush hour so we told him to forget it since we would be done before he got back. So all in all I paid $300 extra for guaranteed delivery, paid my movers hundreds more for waiting around, and had to tip them extra for getting everything off without a ramp. They sent me a feedback survey after the move saying that a manager reviews all feedback and would contact me if I was unhappy, but I have not heard back. I used them once before and it went well but this experience was terrible. Update- After a couple weeks I was finally contact by customer service who reviewed the calls that had been recorded with the terminal and offered to refund the guaranteed delivery fee. Didn't set me straight financially or make up for all the aggravation on moving day, but I appreciate that the company cared enough to make the effort and if I use them in the future I will be sure not to schedule movers until the day after they deliver the trailer. read more

I had a very good experience with U-Pack. ABF dropped off the Relocubes and the 28-ft. trailer on schedule, and picked them up within a few hours after my phone call. They were stored at the KC facility, and delivered on time at our new house. After unpacking, the empty trailer and cubes were picked up within an hour! Everyone I dealt with was very pleasant and made sure I was satisfied. We evaluated PODS and U-Haul U-boxes but U-Pack was clearly the best deal for our move. The only catch is that you need to load the Relocubes/trailer within three days, but if you're organized that shouldn't be a problem. Moving is a traumatic experience but U-Pack made things very easy. I highly recommend them. read more

We used Upack for a complicated cross-country move and we were VERY happy with the service! We used one trailer from Arlington VA and then another one from Springhill, KS--both delivered to Eugene, OR. The whole move worked excellently. When we changed our order, they had no problem, trucks arrived as scheduled, when we had a little glitch with the wall, they fixed it appropriately, and they were extra flexible with our pick up time in Eugene. Every time I called Cecil or another ABF dispatcher, they answered the phone quickly or called back quickly, and were always courteous and professional. The business is efficiently run with low stress. The price was great, and it ended up $100 LESS than what they had quoted to me, but they honored it. I would recommend ABF to anyone with a big move. read more

Great service, great price. I'm really glad my friend recommended it to me. I would definitely use U-Pack again.

We had an easy, seamless, and reliable moving experience on both ends. My parents were shipping a piano and various large furniture items from KS to DC. Both interactions on the phone as well during pickup/drop off were pleasant and helpful. They delivered on time and were responsive when I tried to change a delivery time belatedly. read more

This is the second time I have used ABF U-pack for a cross-county move. Although, I hope to stay put for a while, using ABF U-Pack was worth every penny. In addition, their quoting system had a computer glitch with an extremely low quote if we loaded terminal-to-terminal (great for us, bad for them) but they honored it. If the quote weren't such a great deal, I would have paid a bit extra for the door-to-door like we have done in the past, but we are talking thousands of dollars in savings. We are now in our new city, and our bill was exactly as quoted. Our Relocubes arrived in 2 business days, which was 3 earlier than the earliest quoted day. You can follow your entire shipment online but our boxes actually arrived before we did, so didn't even get a chance to look. The entire process was smooth, and everything arrived safely and in a timely manner. We are so pleased! Thanks ABF U-pack! By the way, it's not just their location in Kansas City, MO is great. I have had great success in Colorado Springs, CO and Portland, OR, as well. This is a great, credible company. If you are moving a lot, the trailer is more convenient and does hold more than the boxes but the Relocubes work great, too. read more
