My husband and I moved from Columbus, Ohio to Cape Coral, FL. We had no problems whatsoever. We did read several reviews before going with U-Pack. The drop off of the cube was seamless, the pick up and journey to my new destination went perfect. Nothing was damaged upon timely arrival. And once it was unloaded (1/2 the day) they came and picked it up the very next day. As long as you are timely and know how to pack you're things so that nothing shifts or moves to break during transit, you will be fine! We moved from Ohio to Texas. UPack was timely in their call responses, both deliveries, and pick up. They provide tracking which allows you to see where the truck is with your belongings as well as where the next stop will be - updated daily. Everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful. I appreciate the fact that they only store one residential household per truck. The rest of the space is used for pallets and what not; this made it easy to know we would not need to wait for other households to obtain their belongings before we had a chance. Heads up: pay attention to the packing recommendations they provide. We packed some of our boxes too heavy which caused those below to bend (our fault). Also, we did not use furniture blankets on some of our belongings which causes some scratches (again, our fault). read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful it was working with the amazing staff: management, drivers, schedulers, and basically, every person with whom I communicated in order to work out our somewhat difficult move. Though we chose to pack our own belongings since we were hoping to keep things from being broken, we were still amazed that absolutely everything arrived in perfect condition. Our biggest concern however, was having the very full trailer delivered to our new construction house' extremely tricky driveway located on a fairly steep incline at a right angle off of a VERY narrow, very curvy, and hilly 2 lane road with no shoulders. Though they could not guarantee that the truck could be parked in our driveway or if it could even come up our road, the local person in charge, Anthony, actually made a special trip out to do recon the day before delivery. Bottom line, they are not only wonderful to work with, but the drivers are clearly incredibly sckilled. I could go on and on.. but this to suffice.. moving is incredibly difficult.. these guys going the second mile made it so much easier. I would give them 10 stars if it were possible. read more

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to review ABF U-pack, but wanted to do it anyway. If you're moving, use U-pack. Every single person I dealt with, from the woman who gave me a quote quickly and without hassle over the phone, to the guys at dispatch arranging for truck pickup/dropoff to the truck drivers was exceedingly nice and helpful. For $1756 I got 10 linear feet of space in a semi truck to go from Columbus, OH to Bellingham WA. You tell them when you want the trailer dropped off at your house, they bring it, you have 3 days to load it up. Then you put up a partition wall, and if you use more or less than the space originally quoted they pro-rate additional feet. You call them and they come pick it up, they'll put other freight in the remaining space before arriving at your desination. In my case it took a full week because it was all the way across the US. They come to your new place and you repeat the process in reverse. Compare prices and conditions with any other moving company and U-haul (or Hertz, etc.) and you'll see why I tout them so highly. If you want a full-service move, do your own research, I'm not sure what's best. If you just want to pack up your stuff and have it get someplace else, go with ABF. read more

Not sure if this is the correct place to review ABF Upak but here it goes. While I feel everyone should do their own research prior to booking a long distance move this is merely my experience on a move from Austin to Columbus. The set up of the move was easy. They took care of everything including loading and unloading on both ends. By doing tbis through them I was ensured that they would take care of all large furniture including beds and load packed boxes. I was also told we would have full replacement insurance on our belongings. Delivery of the truck etc was efficient and all drivers were pleasant. Offload was great in Columbus. The reason for only one star is due to the fact that pretty much everything was damaged in transit due to horrible loading in Austin. Beds were ruined, antique furniture damaged, boxes crushed, etc. Dealing with their claims group was the worst experience with a company I ever had. They were truly horrible. I had to argue for MONTHS to get the money to fix furniture etc. They tried to get away with denying payment for almost everything. Bottom line is that I would never recommended them or use them again due to the amount of damage and the terrible customer service after the move was completed. read more

An hour after dropping up movings pods, they made the mistake of picking them back up an hour later to ship to our moving destination. After calling to ask them to bring them back, they drop them off without calling this time in the wrong location. The driver then lied about dropping them off in the correct spot and hung up on us on the phone. Then the company's solution was to ask us to pay an additional 150$ for the pods to be moved to the correct location. Customer service was rude and unhelpful. read more

Cube picked up on time and deliver 1200 miles away exactly when it was supposed to be...Florida to Ohio no problem. On Tuesday, June 12, 2018 Dee S. contacted me apologizing for this situation and they refunded the money that I had to pay for laborers. I have switched my review to three stars. The cost was good, the pick-up went smoothly, the drivers were always pleasant and helpful, our stuff was delivered on time, and their customer service was responsive. I was not pleased that we were not notified immediately that our card was declined and they held on to our stuff instead of calling us. I am also not happy that their Oakland office thought it would be okay to drop off our stuff without a ramp. Finally, the members of the Oakland office were friendly, but not responsive or reliable. For these reasons I give them three stars, but I would look into using them again for our future moves. read more

We used ABF once before a few years ago and all went well as we recall. Our latest experience did not go well. Our move was from California to Ohio. The trailer was scheduled to be dropped off between 8 am and 4 pm. Eventually, it arrived at about 7 pm after a lot of hassle and multiple phone calls. All the time we were waiting to load it and had to delay our departure by a day. The driver pointed out that the inside of the trailer was dirty (which was an understatement) and cautioned us not to place any items like mattresses on the floor. We had to broom sweep the trailer just to remove wood chips from pallets that are often shipped in ABF trailers. We ended up covering the floor with plastic sheeting to protect our items from the dirt. The rear of the trailer had a fiberglass roof to let light in. It was patched in multiple places where it had been damaged. After I expressed concern, the driver told me that the trailer wasn't guaranteed to be waterproof! It was too late for me to do anything about it. The trailer was difficult to climb into without the ramp down. I bloodied my leg the first time I tried. The driver showed us how to deploy the "lightweight" ramp. It was very heavy and required two of us to handle it. The driver cautioned us to use two straps (not provided) to secure it to the trailer to prevent it from detaching as it just rested on the edge. U-haul ramps have latches that secure them in place. The door of the trailer did not function properly. It got stuck in the open position and took a lot of effort to close it. The delivery driver told me he had the same problem with it. The wooden partition that is used to seal off our items from additional items loaded by ABF was in poor shape and difficult to use. Some of the parts were missing and pieces were missing from the partition itself so the seal was not complete. The trailer looked like it was past retirement age. For delivery in Ohio we were given a time window of 8 am to 8 pm. We called in the afternoon to get an update and were told that deliveries were made after 4 pm - why not tell us ahead of time? The trailer arrived at about 7 pm. On unloading the trailer, we discovered that the roof had leaked and we had to deal with wet moving blankets and soggy cardboard boxes. Also, there was water damage to the top of a table. A number of the cardboard boxes and cardboard crates were crushed. We suspect heavy handling of the trailer. A couple of weeks earlier we drove a 20 foot U-haul ourselves on the same route with a similar load. Nothing was crushed or damaged. To cap off everything, a couple of days after unloading the trailer, we discovered a California king snake in our house. This snake is not native to Ohio or the area in California where the trailer originated. We think it was in pallets loaded by ABF and made it into our items because they were not sealed off completely from the pallets. read more

U Pack was fantastic! They were short staffed and still delivered my cube late in the evening. U Pack picked up my cube the next morning after I called at the end of the day. The cube was scheduled for a guaranteed delivery on a Monday, but we had to change to a Tuesday delivery, No Problem, very courteous and flexible. Delivered to exact location for easy unloading. Zero damages! Everything intact, moved our son from Ohio to California. I would definitely use U Pack again! Also I would recommend you start packing the week before your delivery date so the loading goes smoothly. read more

we had an excellent experience with U-pack for our move from Columbus, OH to Southwest FL. The process of reserving online and getting cubes delivered to a storage facility where we loaded was super easy and efficient. The driver who dropped off the cubes was friendly and courteous. On the destination end, we called customer service to let them know we were ready for delivery (which i noticed only the day we were arriving at our new home - my fault for not reading the entire document ahead of time). There is usually a 2-3 day delay in getting the cubes delivered from the facility to your home, but the customer service rep in Tampa was wonderful and was able to get our cubes delivered the morning after we arrived. Perfect timing because we had a short window of time with our unloading helpers. After we unloaded, I simply clicked a button on my phone to let them know the empty cubes were ready for pickup and they came the next day to take them. So easy. You do need to be extra careful in how you load. Things will shift. We used ropes and bungees to secure everything to the walls. We also used blankets and pads to cushion in between any gaps. I would recommend relo cubes for any move. read more

I used ABF UPACK twice actually. The first time was when my wife had to start her job before we had the house ready to list and the second was after the house was sold and I was ready to move. Our move was from Las Vegas, NV to Newark, OH. The first time we had loaders and unloaders. They were friendly and courteous at least the loaders were we never met the unloaders but my dad said they were nice as he was there and we weren't. When we did arrive I found a dresser was smashed and nearly every bolt in my grill was gone and it couldn't be moved or it would fall apart. I know things happen during a move and I was busy with other things so I just thought I'll fix it later. So we decided to use them again for my move thinking "things happen". This time I was going to load and unload it to save money and I've loaded moving trucks before so no big deal right?! I put all the heavy stuff on the bottom arranged it so things were well padded locked in the bulk heads and they drove it away! I'm not sure where they took the truck. Possibly off road through the depths of hell, rolled the truck off one of the mountains in Colorado, possibly an obstacle course for moving trucks but I couldn't believe how it looked when it got here! Crushed boxes, ripped apart document boxes, important papers everywhere, items in multiple little pieces. Needless to say I was disappointed. I haven't found anything broken beyond repair yet but it wasn't from lack of trying on their part. The people there in customer service were nice but that doesn't make up for the terrible driving that got it here. WARNING: OVERNIGHT STORAGE OF TRUCK/CUBES REQUIRED. EDITED: they do disclose on the website in the FAQ that same-day pickup is up to the local terminal. Apparently this is not an option at the Columbus location despite the fact that U-Pack is actually listed as on of the "moving partners" for my storage facility. Original Review: We were seriously considering them for an interstate move from Columbus, OH but after numerous phone calls trying to finalize our reservation we discovered that we could not use them because our possessions are at a storage facility. The storage facility wont let them leave the truck or the cubes there overnight and the gentleman from U-Pack on the phone said they absolutely do not do same day pick -up, even though their website says they do... we were even considering hiring them for labor but apparently they just drop the truck off and leave, no chance of coming back later that day and the labor guys are completely different. I don't know where the driver goes, or where the labor guys come from, but the gentleman from U-Pack actually suggested we just hire movers to move everything out of storage to some other location and then hire U-pack to move from there to our new house. Seriously? Even with their pricing (which is admittedly great) there's no way its cost effective for us to pay for two moves, nor the hassle of dealing with two different moving companies. U-pack: seriously consider supporting same-day drop-off and pick up... especially if you are being hired for the moving labor, I don't see how it makes any sense for a driver to drop off a truck, leave (without the truck somehow), have two moving guys show up and pack everything in 2 hours, leave, and then wait 24 hours before the driver comes back to move the truck. To be clear, we asked 3 times on the phone and each time got a "no we don't do same day drop-off and pick-up". If this isn't possible at least make this clear up front so customers don't waste their time. read more

Called today to schedule pick up tomorrow and I was yelled at for keeping the cube one more day. The guy works in dispatchers yelled at me and then hang up the phone without telling how or when they will come and pick the cube up. Felt like he took this too personal and I'm about to file an official complaint on paper later this week. This is not what I should be treated and not what I read about U Pack. Moving can be a real hassle. The planning. The scheduling. The packing. And yes, the cost. But when your move goes from across town to across the country and your treasured belongings are in someone else's hands, it's all the more reason to make a well-informed decision about the company you go with. Some years ago I moved from Columbus to Seattle and pared everything down in order to go lean and mean, and I saw rates on U-Pack's relocube, a 6x7x8' lockable container. At the time my quote was $825 (all fuel charges and fees included), which seemed far too low (PODS was charging four times that), but after reading multiple reviews and seeing the BBB had nothing but praise for them, I was sold. I opted for a station to station move (you need a truck to do the local moves) but for a few more hundred you can choose their door to door service. Every aspect of the process was quick and simple, and their timetable was so accurate I could have set my watch to it. Dealing with U-Pack was a joy. In the starkest of contrasts, my recent move back to Columbus was a completely different story. Stay tuned for my next review, where I rip Cardinal Moving a new one! read more

We moved all of our stuff from Columbus OH to Los Angeles CA for $1800. And everyone along the way at ABF was helpful and friendly. The truck was dropped off right when they said it would be, got picked up an hour after we called, and waited for us even after we got delayed in our move. We had a "live unload" at our destination, and the driver never pressured us to finish or anything. Great experience for much cheaper than any other service. Of course, to get this deal, you have to do the work yourself or hire another company. Keep that in mind. read more

I used upack for my recent move in this month. The initial delivery and pickup of cubes at original location was on time and the staff was super friendly. I was very satisfied with the service at the origin. However at the destination the service was pathetic, I told them to drop the cubes at my new home destination at the specified time on a delivery date 3 days head of time. I started at 4am to reach at my new home destination to present in person when they deliver the cubes, but upack at destination could not meet the promised time and staff said we dont hv drivers to deliver cubes at my scheduled time and said it is upto u if you want it to deliver at late night. I started driving at 4am for 7 hours just because upack said they can deliver cubes in the afternoon. Staff not pleasant and they finally delivered at 11pm and I told to them pick up the cubes by EOD Friday as my new community won't allow to keep them for 2 nights, but upack couldn't even pick the cubes on Friday as informed at the destination. So service at destination is not good and they couldn't live up to customers convinience. read more
