New staff new manager! It's like night and day! Jonathan is the man! He runs it how it should and even went out his way for me!

I arrived at this location around 10:30 on a Sunday. I went in and asked someone to refill my propane tank. One employee was busy with a customer and one employee was worried about her breakfast order being incorrect. She told me she would be with me when she was finished. A third employee walked in and said he would be with me when he finished some paperwork for a customer. He told me to wait outside. I waited by the propane for about 20 minutes and no one came. When I went back in, the worker who said he would be with me was waiting on other customers who came after I did. When I asked when he was coming, he told me that I should wait back outside ... and that patience was a virtue. Another worker came outside and filled the tank. I was ignored and treated disrespectfully. I will find another place for propane. read more

Went to pick up the uhaul at 7:15 that we reserved online a couple days in advance. Got there and said no truck had been assigned. Waited 25 mins on hold for them to assign a truck. Then when we finally got the truck, it was blocked in by another. Didn't finally get out until 8:30. read more

I've rented from here at least 7 times since 2017. They've always been more or less friendly and helpful. Once they put me in a larger truck for the same price as they didn't have the size I had reserved. Here of late it's been younger folks working there who like to kid and play around a little , but hey, they get me out of there fast and the returns are always a snap. They've never overcharged more for anything, fuel etc. I've rented vans, pickup trucks, large trucks, all operated fine. If you're moving on a weekend RESERVE ahead of time online --Otherwise, they probably won't have anything at all. read more

This place was a breath of fresh air compared to the location we just came from! They were very disappointed to hear about the experience we had at another location and apologized for it. The staff was friendly and helpful. The guy that helped hook up the trailer was very helpful and nice. I saw him running around to help everyone! Overall, we got what we needed and had a better experience. At this location, they have a large section for storage, propane refill, packing supplies, trucks, vans, and trailers. We've rented from this location numerous times. The employees were on the quite side when we first came here several years ago. The last couple years the employees have been friendly, extremely helpful and very efficient. As you would expect they carry a large selection of various size packing boxes and accesories to get the job done. We purchase quite a few boxes from this location and I appreciate the numerous sizes. Not the cheapest boxes in town but the prices aren't outrageous when you only need a few specific sizes. The location is typically busy when we pickup and drop off the box truck. I would suggest calling ahead to make reservations especially in the Spring when so many folks are moving. Two weeks ago we had to rent from another location because we called a week in advance. All the truck sizes we needed were already reserved. Decent gas mileage and great side view mirrors. We'll certainly use this U-Haul location in the future. read more

In here to get a moving truck out to get out of Indy, door says wear a mask but yet the employees don't wear it. They are depending on the little cheap plexiglass to keep them safe. Customers are doing their part but they are not. Lines are more than 30 minutes, so risk of exposure is high. read more

When I picked up the U-Haul van and did the vehicle check: the inside of the van was full of dog hair and dirty; the low tire pressure light was on; the fuel tank was not full. U-Haul rep said the tire gauge light was broke and he just checked the tires - front at 50 and back at 80. Left for home and found out the rear passenger side turn signal didn't work. The location was closed, so I called U-Haul customer service to report it. Got home & checked the tire pressure, all 4 tires were low. Was told the rear tires were at 80 pounds, they were at 50. Filled up the tires and the light magically disappeared. Left for the trip and found out there was no windshield washer fluid. Upon return of the van, the U-Haul rep was extremely rude. Not even a thank you for using U-Haul. Not friendly at all. I put in a review with U-Haul and called customer service about the complaints. No response from anyone! read more

I have had the worst experience moving to Denver Colorado. I have visited three separate franchised U-Haul locations and this one has healed the wound of this whole ordeal. The facility is extremely clean and the staff extremely friendly. Thank you for turning my nightmare experience into a positive. read more

I've had the displeasure of renting from this place now on two occasions. The first time was several years ago and I had forgotten until I pulled into the place that I should avoid this place. I pulled into the parking lot and found a guy trying to back out across the entire parking lot which is a car and a half wide narrow lane. Little did I know that they intentionally block the other drive way with box truck (Jesse told me...that's what that truck is there for...to block the exit) ...because why would you want a customer to be able to enter or exit your business when renting large equipment with any type of ease. Jesse came out and started yelling at me as if I should know that they block 50% of their business access as I can see through buildings of course. The gentleman who helped me inside was nice. He was efficient and helpful. Regardless, never again. read more

This is the worst place for customer service. I would give negative stars if I could. Placed my order online for packing supplies in the morning. Asked for a text when they were ready. Requested they be ready by 330. No text so about 415 I went to the location. I was the 10th person in line. After waiting about 10 minutes I left. It appeared only 1 person was working the counter. I came back about 615. Same thing only 1 person. I was the 9th person in line. There is a customer service number posted on the front door. I called it and left a message. I got a text saying it was a wrong number. If I hadnt already paid for my supplies I would have left. I finally was out of there about 715. Do yourself a favor and drive on past this location. It will be worth the effort. read more

Darius and Michael went WAY above and beyond in the pouring rain to fix our hitch issue. The poor workmanship was done by another facility and these guys took care of it for us. This was after we had tried calling and leaving NUMEROUS messages over 6 days to get someone at the N. Michigan Rd location to call us back. No wonder this location was packed with people when we arrived. Service like this should never go without recognition!! read more

Decent product, less than decent customer service. I was planning to move from a 2 bedroom bedroom near Mass Ave over to a 1 bedroom apartment near the canal downtown. More than a month before the move was scheduled to take place, I made a reservation for the U-Haul at the N Illinois location. The day before we were scheduled to pick up the truck, they let us know that the truck we were scheduled to use had been damaged and that we would have to get a smaller truck or go to a different location. We ended up calling the Lafayette Rd location and getting a truck of the same size from there. However, U-Haul did very little to compensate for this inconvenient change. We were going to be driving an additional several miles in order to pick it up (and return it), which we had to pay for. The truck was extremely run down and quite old. They said that they applied the $50 insurance to our plan to compensate for the change, which we didn't request in the first place and proved useless to us. I would have much rather had them take $50 off of the end bill. I give them 2 stars because they got the job done, but I felt the customer service we experienced in this situation could have been much better, especially when we had nothing to do with the problem. It also ended up being pretty pricey. read more
