Da Toni. Im actually…read morequite surprised this is my first review for a business in my beautiful home town of EnseNasty. I always thought Fauna would be my first but hey, whatever. Here it goes! I've been coming to this restaurant for years, easily idk more than 6 or 7 y tengo que decir que señor Toni es un chingón and knows how to assemble a masterful beastly team in the kitchen. Regarding the owner and head chef, he's a cool dude and I very much enjoy shooting the shit with him every time I visit. Essentially, the food is always good, no one can deny that. Whether it's the long standing regular menu with the classics or the seasonal specials. I truly love how it's clearly an Italian restaurant that proudly incorporates local flavors & ingredients as well as slightly fuses other types of cuisines. You can definitely taste the Mexican influence in some of the dishes like in the spaghetti con pesto di Serrano e jalapeño. I absolutely love that dish, The flavors just pop and play together so eloquently. MARCA DIABLO as mi abuelito chichi would say. Italian hand emoji unlocked with essentially every dish I've had there. The rib eye I orders on my most recent visit around early November was a true highlight, best execution of any Da Toni visit and one of the best steaks I've had in Baja. Highly recommend this place. They recently switched over to another location which makes the restaurant improve drastically, not just the design and ambiance but also adds some much needed space that the other location really lacked. salute, denaro e amore

The…read moreprofessional open air kitchen has bustling sous chefs with the head executive chef/owner at the helm. Every plate comes out beautiful and delicious. It's not a surprise as the executive chef/owner worked in San Francisco restaurants before coming to Ensenada. The Tagliarini con Erizo de Mar (Tagliarini pasta with sea urchin) is absolutely amazing. Sea urchin tends to be on some Ensenada menus and I'm delightfully speculating that it's fresh from the region. Most diners have enjoyed sea urchin in sushi restaurants, but I've got to tell you, this preparation will expand your palate. If sea urchin isn't for you, there are other wonderful pasta plates, such as pasta with truffles, or main courses such as ribeye, branzino fish, a porterhouse and more. The service is impeccable and the ambiance reminds me of a trattoria in a small Italian city. Prices are reasonable and what you'd expect for elevated Italian food. A must visit for Ensenada.

Luckily, we were able to secure a table at Quercus. The waiter was prompt and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner. The chef was also quick to come and ensure that any questions we had about the menu were answered. The bread was served fresh with salsa - a combination I have not had before. Both the green and red salsa were not too spicy and to my surprise, went well with the toasted bread. For our main courses: 1. Grilled Octopus - 5 star presentation! Well seasoned and not chewy - which is something many other restaurants get wrong. The octopus still had a bite, but was still tender enough. It went well with the pickled onions and the guacamole that was served with the dish. 2. Ribeye - Again, excellent presentation befitting of fine dining. This was a huge portion, but well seasoned and not dry. We opted for the 500g (larger) size upon recommendation of our waiter, but probably could have gone for the smaller size. We could not finish it; perhaps if we had 3 people dining. Our meal was paired with an excellent white wine blend from one of the local wineries upon recommendation of our waiter. Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for a restaurant to have dinner at. If I were to describe this place: mediterranean food with a Mexican flare.

I have attached photos of most of the deliciousness! The cheese plate, the tomato soup, and the pork shank were my favorites. I did personally order the grilled octopus, it wasn't cleaned super properly and a lot of bits of it were over the top chewy but did have potential to be great! Also, with being sick I had ordered some hot tea and all I received was hot water with a sprig of mint lol. But all in all this place was amazing!

For groups larger than 7, they require a prix fixe menu (5 or 7 courses) with the option to add a wine pairing. We went with the 5 course + wine pairing, which included a welcome drink (gin + cucumber based and very refreshing). The pairing was supposed to include four wines, but we only ended up getting one red and one white with refills which was a bit of a bummer. That said, the red ended up being one of my favorites from the entire trip, so partial win there. Food: absolutely delicious. Everything came out family style, beautifully plated, and perfect for sharing with a big group. No complaints on flavor or execution! 4 stars (and not 5): a few frustrating misses for a high end spot. First... they were out of tequila. In Valle. At this restaurant. What? Lol. Second, we were required to select our main entree in advance (choices were rock fish or suckling pig), only to get a call about an hour before our reservation saying neither would be available. The replacements were a fish (I think salmon?) and pork belly. Don't get me wrong both were good but last min menu changes like that shouldn't really happen at this level. All that said, still a great experience overall. I would come back with a smaller group so I can actually order my own meal and avoid the prix fixe surprises.

The setting alone is worth the visit wide open views, rustic-modern design, and so many photo worthy spots you'll find yourself snapping pictures all throughout your visit. Whether it's the hillside views, the outdoor seating, or the golden hour lighting, this place is made for unforgettable moments. Now the food... incredible. Th ecachete is packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the pulpo is hands down one of the best I've had tender, smoky, and seasoned just right. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated without losing that Baja charm. The drinks also deserve a shoutout great mixed drinks that are refreshing, well-balanced, and perfect to sip while taking in the views. Overall, Finca Altozano delivers on all fronts: amazing food, killer drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere with plenty of photo ops. Definitely a 5-star experience and a spot I'll keep coming back to

It's mostly outdoors but fully covered, with heaters to keep you warm, which made it very comfortable.. We arrived around sunset, and the timing was perfect: it was still light when we got there and turned into nighttime by the time we left, making the views and ambiance even more magical... Our server was very helpful and attentive.. He walked us through the menu, explained how different dishes were prepared, pointed out popular items, and also gave us great drink recommendations. Everything we ordered was very tasty and definitely lived up to the hype. We came on a Sunday night, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly, and the food came out fast, which was a nice bonus. Overall, the food was good, the ambiance was beautiful, and the vibe was very romantic, perfect for a date night. There's also space to walk around the property, although by the time we finished eating it was already dark and we were ready to head home... If you're visiting Valle de Guadalupe, this spot is definitely worth checking out for the views, the atmosphere, and a solid meal...

Suculenta - I got a ribeye steak and it had these little ribeye steak tips on it I forget what they call them and fresh vegetables

Right now the jury is out. This place has been renamed as the Serengeti…read more It needs to be updated on Yelp. It has been remodeled and it's beautiful and they are accommodating here but the timing of the food and a few more things need some work. The prices have gone up quite a bit but I got a steak it was their ribeye about 15 oz with please french fries mixed with vegetables and extra vegetables on the side. When I got the plate I took a taste at the steak and the seasoning was delicious but it was very lukewarm and I like my food hot. I sent it back just the steak for her to put it on the grill for a little longer and when it got back it was not as tender and it didn't have that same delicious taste and it was only grilled for a minute more which makes me think they probably put it under a broiler because the grilling didn't do anything for it it was slightly warmer but now I'm eating a so-so steak at quite a price. The servers are very nice. There's only me and one other table in here so I don't know why it took so long to get my food they might still be training or something I don't know. The coffee is they're organic Mexican coffee but it seems like it's different from what I remember it used to be darker roast and a little stronger this one seems kind of weak and you can get plain milk or powdered stuff for it and I prefer half and half or heavy cream. I had sparkling water which here is called minerale. Is decorated for Christmas right now so it's very pretty the updated look is nice. The televisions in here reflect the things going on at the restaurant and at the whole park they show the features of the park and the different drinks they make here and such. One Saving Grace is that they let my little service dog come in he helps me with detecting a possible PTSD episode and they didn't give me too much problem even though dogs are not really allowed. Some places in Mexico just welcomed dogs in others don't want them and some restaurants down here don't know about dogs that are therapy or service dogs. So I appreciated that. Though this is not a high rating I still think it's worth checking out because this could be one of those one-time things it is a lovely atmosphere. The kitchen might need a little work the server was accommodating and I appreciate that my family has come here before me and enjoyed it so what I experienced with the kitchen might be an anomaly. I recommend that you at least try it out and maybe if you have particular things you want say it ahead of time like you want to make sure that the meat is warm or hot not served lukewarm that kind of thing. If they have Specific Instructions beforehand they will probably be good if there is any doubt about how things will come out I'm sure people who come here really enjoy it. Again the new name is Serengeti and it is located at the entertainment and animal park called Pai Pai.

We were the only people in there and it took forever for the food and even the drinks to arrive. I ordered a mojito that was so syrupy sweet as to be undrinkable. The bartender fixed it with more lime juice and rum and was able to drink after it had been watered down with ice. My friend's Margarita while decent, came without salt, so that too had to be sent back. The pizzas come in two sizes, individual and family. I assumed I was getting an individual as two people were having dinner and ordered different entrees. But no, I am presented with a huge family size pizza. Waiter said, sorry that's my fault, guess I should have asked. Nonetheless, I ate 2 pieces and we were billed for a family size pizza. (Note to restaurants, if you are going to play "fleece the gringo" make sure the gringos are tourists and not residents or you cheat yourself out of future business.). I had been here one time previously, for a cappuccino to go. It had virtually no flavor of coffee and was undrinkable. I gave them another chance after that as I have heard great things and thought maybe I was there at an off time or something. But they blew it again. Were it not for the quality of the fish on the fish and chips, this place would have gotten 1 star. Bad dining experience all around.
