WOW. We have a 20+ year old house that is over 2600 sq/ft. We have had difficulty with temperature, both hot and cold for years. We called Tyson to evaluate our attic. We received an appointment very quickly. The evaluator said our insulation was low or non existent in most of the attic. He also recommended an attic fan. They installed the fan and blew in insulation. This happened in just a couple of weeks. The crew was quick, efficient, respectful of our home and us. We had constant communication and updates. We had our 1930's Tower home's attic renovated by Chris and his team a couple of years ago. It had a very old layer of perlite with disintegrated blown-in cellulose over that, which Chris came out to remove. While it was open, Chris came up into the attic with me and showed me that none of the top plates were air-sealed. As the walls of the home aren't insulated, this was a significant issue during winter where cool air could make its way down into the walls. I was also able to see a significant number of issues with the ductwork and electrical while it was cleared out. Chris was extremely kind and gave me the time I needed to finish this work myself as well as allow me to work beside his team while they did foam sealing prior to blowing in fresh cellulose. Chris really went above and beyond and even found me a part I needed to complete my work that was unavailable at local hardware stores. As I was up there, I watched every step of the process and I can say that Chris, and his workers, are very professional, easy to work with, and talk to. This job was worth the cost! read more

We needed additional insulation in our attic and our condo is over 40 years old. All the other companies wanted to blow insulation on top of the 40 year old stuff which just didn't seem right to me. An added bonus is strong communication that with clients that is virtually instantaneous. He also keeps a close eye on the work as it progresses, visiting the work site at least twice per day. I have several rental properties that I plan to gradually upgrade with the same kind of products and insulation. Chris Tyson is serious about his field. He keeps up on latest technologies and passes that knowledge along to his clients. We wanted a definite solution for our treehouse. In the summer on a 105 degree F day the unit is way too hot to use (125+ degrees F inside) and pretty chilly in the winter. Even using a powerful 17,000 BTU AC unit the coolest we could the treehouse was 98 on a hot day. We needed a year round solution. Chis presented several options and suggested what he thought would work best. We were surprised to see the materials as they were unconventional and inexpensive but we followed his suggestions and now we have a year round retreat! This is incredible as it allows us to rent the space 365 days a year. It's 107 outside today and with our new 12,000 BTU AC unit running it's a cool 64 degrees in there. Of course we won't keep it at 64 we just wanted to see if we could get it that cold. Effortless. After we moved into our new home we noticed the front of our home was always hot. So we called an AC company to check out the system to ensure nothing was wrong. After they checked everything the tech told us that we need to add insulation in our attic to help keep the heat out of our home. Now we had to find someone who installs insulation! I gave Chris from Tyson energy a call he was so help full by phone explain everything that his company does and what to look for when choosing a insulation company. Chris came out and went over in detail of what he would seal in the attic and showed us a thermal picture of where the heat was coming from and when he checked the attic out he found a hole in our ac duct which was blowing all our cold air into the attic. Not only did he find the hole in the duct he fixed it which was included in the cost for insulation. Chris also talked to us about a product that we could place on our windows that would help keep the heat out of our living. I was a bit skeptical about the effectiveness of this product but with the amount of heat coming through our front windows we decided to give this window treatment a try. After having the insulation blown into our attic our ac does not run all day. Without the insulation we could not get our home to go below 80, after he installed the insulation the house will cool down to 79 in 15 min. Amazing! I look forward to seeing our PG&E bills dropping since the ac does not have to run all day long. We were referred to Tyson Energy by Donald P Dick who does our AC. We have Energy Star Anlin Windows and Doors and a new AC unit & upgraded to all Energy Star appliances yet our bill is still not right where we wanted it & figured we were loosing energy somewhere else. I called and left a message for Chris and he called me back within 5-10minutes and schedule a time to meet with my husband. My husband r said Chris was full of knowledge and felt like we were working with a no BS company. He told us where we were (R12) & versus code (R38)and what he does that other companies don't such as laying down a heat resistant barrier I believe it was. He also used fiberglass instead of newspaper. We shopped around and found Chris had an extremely fair price and really was going above and beyond other companies in town. It was a no brained to go with Tyson. We schedule for the following two weeks and his guys showed up on time and got the job done. What really impressed me was they put barriers on all corners of all of our walls so the tube they brought in didn't scratch the baseboards or wall. Then they actually cleaned up the whole mess!! I was ready to vacuum after they left but when I came back he beat me to it and cleaned it up spotless! We paid cash and his employee was very professional making sure there was a paper trail of the cash given and even realized after he left we over paid by $10 and left it under our mat!
