I called them to get a second opinion about a failing AC unit. First company deemed the condenser as faulty and said it needs to be replaced, on site initial quote was $5000, which later turned into $12,000 replacement. Andrew from allbritten showed up and discover the whole issue was a chewed up data cable. He worked his wonders for few hours, restored the system and then worked his magic with his superiors to get us an amazing price !!!! I have hired many contractors before but never ever received such a service as this company provided. Beware of High Quotes for Simple Repairs I recently had an outdoor faucet break off, leaving the threaded portion stuck inside the pipe. While I'm not a plumber, I'm reasonably handy and felt it might be something I could fix with the proper tools. I contacted Allbritten and scheduled a service call. Pricing was not discussed beforehand because I was told the plumber would need to assess the work and use a company pricing system to determine the cost. The plumber arrived on time, was professional, courteous, and explained that he had performed this type of repair many times before. After evaluating the situation, he returned with a quote and described the work in great detail, comparing the complexity to a surgical procedure. I interrupted and simply asked what the repair would cost. I was given a price range of more than $500 on the low end and more than $800 on the high end. When I asked what would happen if the repair only took 10 minutes, I was told the company charges flat-rate pricing regardless of how long the work takes, although he could contact his supervisor to see if the price could be reduced. I declined the repair based solely on the quoted cost, paid the service-call fee, and we parted on good terms. Afterward, I went to Home Depot, purchased a pipe extractor kit for less than $15, and removed the broken pipe threads myself in under 10 minutes. My issue is not with the technician, who was polite and professional throughout the visit. My concern is with a pricing system that can result in a quote of $500 to $800+ for a repair that, in this case, required a simple tool and only a few minutes of work. Do not use them unless you decide to replace a brand new system. My A/C stopped blowing cool air. Paid for diagnostic fee for them to tell me that my system is too old and not worth to fix it because it's too expensive to do so. They quoted me $17k for repair. And told me the supervisor would contact me for a quote of new system. The guy said there was no guarantee my A/C will works after spend all these money fixing it. So it's better just get a new system. The supervisor called me said he was far away and could make it. He would stop by on weekend but never showed up. Never got a follow up call either. I found another place and they found two minor issues, capacitor and leak of Freon. They fixed it and now my A/C works again and no need for a quote of over 10k system. Do not, I do not recommend this place at all. They are air conditioner seller. They sell the system, they won't repair it. Albritten took over the business I used to deal with (Steve Patrick Mechanical) so I had them come out when my AC failed. They pretended to troubleshoot the system, looked at the blown booster capacitor and said 'That's your problem', gonna need to replace the compressor for $10K. Other option is to replace the whole system for $20-25K. Second company came out (Miggy's AC Service). What an excellent experience. Our air conditioner after 23 years quit. Some parts were not even available and a lot was wrong. Andrew was very thorough in filming the problems. Zack came out to my home and quickly assessed the situation and prescribed a solution. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the situation and took his time explaining the problem and remedy options. I would highly suggest contacting AllBritten for information about your plumbing issues. 2 stars for electrical services. I requested a quote for EV charger installation and was told it was impossible snd that my panel was overloaded and hazardous. I was then quoted four figures to either update the breakers or upgrade the entire panel. I obtained multiple quotes and they were the only company with these conclusions. It's of course possible the technician was less experienced than other providers or had limited knowkedge of my situation. The service would have been improved if he took the steps to analyze my panel more thoroughly as others did. I would definitely consider AllBritten for future plumbing services, but I would likely request one of their more experienced technicians for electrical services. read more

It's unfortunate that this company takes an aggressive sales stance. If you don't want this to happen to you. Don't ever call them. We started using Allbritten around 3 years ago. At first we were very happy with the plumbing service. However, from the first visit every employee was always trying to sell us on their Guardian membership which is currently $240/year and includes one heater, one A/C inspection and a percentage discount on plumbing work. We noticed that during every inspection upgrades were recommended. Some were very expensive. Last fall (2024), during our furnace inspection, our furnace filters were removed but only one was replaced. In spite of refusing the suggestions for upgrade, we received several texts and phone calls. It was impossible to simply ignore them. I had to call and tell them to stop. We still had one more pre paid A/C inspection. We again refused the additional work. We were again texted about it after the fact. I told them that all the texts and phone calls were an annoyance and if I wanted to contact them I would. The final nail in the coffin was the phone call today with a message left offering a, "free plumbing inspection." I called and told them no more phone calls and then wrote this revie. read more

A previous customer of Steve Patrick who retired and referred us to Allbritten. They replaced our hvac but it wasn't operating (if I was understanding correctly) that my unit was a new Trane unit and that this particular unit they thought it was a part that was the problem so they got the new part and it wasn't the issue of not operating but rather it involved connecting certain wires which fixed it after they consulted with the manufacturer( that was the AC part but a couple of weeks later I turned on the heat because the house was a little chilly but no fan kicked on so I called and they sent out a technician and he said the first guys didn't finish the connection and what they did connect was wrong for this unit. Just to clarify the first installers were not able to finish it because of the aforementioned issues which they encountered for this unit and that is when the first tech got it straightened out with the manufacturer of my unit BUT although they got the Ac operating he didn't check out the heat portion so we thought all was good so when they sent out the other technician he went up into the attic and saw it not connected as of yet so basically everything got mixed up and confused but they got it straightened out finally and so far it is operating properly. We haven't had to use the heat or ac because of the weather being nice so we really didn't notice anything until we went to use the heater. The employees were very nice and respectful. I guess if there were any cons about it it would be the fiasco of the aforementioned installation and I really would prefer a time narrowed down to when to expect them rather than just saying" go about your day" which is not easy if I have to go somewhere and have no idea as to when you are coming. As recommendations they are not the most expensive but not the cheapest either. Also in between these problems I had an issue with my toilet and called them and they gave me a slight discount and had me pay right upfront before they even started the service and then I went to my desk and saw that I had a coupon for $75 off and asked the tech if that was applied because he said there would be a discount but it but I found out later that the coupon was not applied. My fault, I should've handed it to him and told him to refund the original amount. read more

I was a loyal customer to Steve Patrick air-conditioning and he retired and had all of his clients transferred over. I was contacted and made aware of the transition and I said that was fine then came the harassing phone calls as to oh well want to come out and do a complementary check of stuff on your house and I was like well. I don't really need that but I'm OK and then they continued the phone call so I was like OK fine I'll schedule something so I went for a particular date in particular time and the was a two hour timeframe and so it was just about the time where the guy should be coming and so I actually have two properties next-door to each other but they're technically different streets and he was like well. I'm going to a different property first and I said no I want you to come to my main property first and he's like oh I think they're having a different technician go and I said that makes no sense. I'm one properties. It's the way it's been in a long story short we went The technician said that they were going to call the main office get it cleared and they were on their way out over an hour later still nobody had showed up. I called the main office. I said what's happening and he's like oh well I was getting ready to dispatch somebody. They'll be there in about 45 minutes the communication wasn't the meantime I was looking up stuff online and they are running specials and so they were trying to get my water system redone and then they questions on the phone about different things and there was no pure intention there obviously they really need to sell stuff and I get how businesses work but Steve Patrick never called and like advertising or sales. It was very casual laid-back you need me. I'll be there. Call me for any questions and then I'd ask for the manager or Owner to call me to sit down and have like a business a business talk woman to woman and she never reached out and anyway super perform. Allbritten installed a new HVAC system at our home two and a half years ago. The project was suppose to take two days, it took seven days. The crew had difficulty installing it. They installed it wrong because we spent two years having them come out to fix the problem each time not being successful. We never heard from a manager. This was never on anyone's radar that they were coming out to the same house for two years and the problem continued. Considering our attic is relatively cramped and the weather was hot, they worked very efficiently. My wife and I really appreciated their use of drop-cloths on all our floors and the fact that they neatly moved some of our belongings from their work area so they wouldn't get damaged. They came to my house and diagnosed the issue with my plug. But, the space must have been too tight for the guy, because he wanted to widen the hole that led to the plug through the cabinet. So, he had a few quotes done and I agreed to have the job done at that agreed price. About 2 weeks later and I had not been contacted by the service coordinator. So, I had to get another electrician. A decade ago, we needed significant work on the heating and air conditioning in our house to improve energy efficiency. We had several companies come out and give us quotes. Allbritten was the only one that could do the job that we wanted, so we hired them. They did great work and quickly. Since then we have used them for all of our HVAC and plumbing. They have always been responsive, done good work, and charged reasonable prices. But a few months ago we called them about a broken garbage disposal in our kitchen. Again they came out quickly, and did the work quickly. While they were there, I was not home. They told my wife that they needed to replace the disposal, that they could do it then and there, and that it would cost $745. She called me and, because it was near the end of the day, and I was busy, and it needed to be done, and I assumed that most of that was for the cost of a garbage disposal, I said sure, go ahead. The work was done within MINUTES. I thought, sure, that makes sense--probably about $500 for a disposal, and $245 a quick service call. Then later I looked at the invoice and decided to see what the cost of that equipment really was. The disposal they installed RETAILS for $145. That means they charged us, presumably, no more than $145 for parts and $600 for MINUTES of labor, which is absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. I reached out to their main office and it took several tries over several days for someone finally to call me back. I received a call from a guy, whose name I forget, who claimed to be in charge of all plumbing at Allbritten. I demanded a reduction in price, because $600 for a few minutes of labor is ridiculous. He refused and claimed that they only do flat fees for labor because some guys can do the job quickly and others take a long time. He would not give me a reduction but claimed he would take another look at what they charge for that particular service. He was calling me on a weekend and said he would call me again during the workweek. He never did. Nobody at Allbritten has ever explained to me how $600 for a few MINUTES of labor is remotely fair. I'm a lawyer and even the expensive corporate lawyers in San Francisco and Los Angeles that I deal with sometimes are charging in the range of $1,200 for a full hour. There is no way in any reasonable world that a plumber doing a few minutes of work should be charging $600 when an expensive big city lawyer costs $1,200 for a full hour. Also, I do not for a second buy the plumbing manager's rationale that he sets the price of that service based on some kind of average speed. Assuming a reasonable hourly rate for a plumber even up to $200, that would mean he has a significant number of guys that are taking more than three hours to swap out a garbage disposal, and some guys that can do it in minutes. That just is not credible. Not REMOTELY credible. And if you have guys that are taking that long to do what some guys can do in minutes, then what you have is a YOU problem--you need to train your guys. Until now I have been satisfied with Allbritten. Now I do not trust them and they have done exactly zero to earn my trust back, even though I tried to get some satisfaction. Update as of 9/4: I didn't want to disclose Buckley Air Conditioning and Heating until I got through the summer and could be sure my AC was really holding up. Now that it's been running strong, I can say with confidence: this is the place to use. Buckley came in after the failed Allbritten visit, quickly saw what had gone wrong, and got my older system working exactly as it should. Since their service, the unit has been reliable -- just like it always was before. The difference was obvious. Buckley's tech didn't push for a sale, didn't dismiss my older unit, and didn't try to scare me into a replacement. They focused on honest service, explained things clearly, and gave me the support I was looking for. When the time comes to replace this AC, Buckley is the company I'll call. If you have an older unit or just want straightforward service, go with Buckley Air Conditioning and Heating. read more

I am so happy with Allbritten and the placement of my new Heating/AC unit. I have been having a rough year and had just gotten out of the hospital after being there close to 4 months. I came home right before Thanksgiving and the night before Thanksgiving my heating would not work. It was so cold in my house, in the 50's and already not feeling well did not help. It was late, dark and cold, even still they sent someone out to check my unit even though they had to climb up on the roof in the dark. My unit was over 20yrs old and really could not be saved. So they sent Matt Lomonaco over , at this time it was probably 9pm or later. He showed me the difference options and after I picked one I thought would be best for me. He said they would start on it Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving day I ended up back in the hospital for a couple more weeks. I called to reschedule the new unit until I got home and Matt said they could get started on it as scheduled so when I came home it wouldn't be to a cold house. I have used Allbritten many times without any problems and I trusted them completely to enter my house when I was not home to complete the setup, they trusted me with the payment after all. I came home to a nice warm house, new thermostat that I love, even all new smoke and CO2 detectors, and delicious cookies left for me. Besides Matt the other technicians were , Ronnie Levan , Ryan Thomas and Zach Lopez. Thank you were the excellent work and for completing this so I did not have to come home to a cold house. This unit is a big improvement over my old one, I can definitely tell the difference. read more

My heater went out this winter so I called Allbritten on a Monday. They would not come out in the rain for safety reasons so I had to wait until Friday. I was not offered a block of time and sat and waited until 4 pm for someone to show up. it took about 15 minutes to assess the problem but it couldn't be fixed because their parts department closed at 4pm I was told they would get it done the next Monday. After waiting most of the day Monday I called, no one knew about any additional work or parts needed they would have someone call me to find out if they had the part, no one ever called. It has now been another week and I have not heard from the company. I called another company who was at my house in 2 hours and had the work completed in a total of 4 hours. read more
