We have used Steve Patrick Air for many years able to diagnose the problem with the unit. This was very important as our son is terminally ill and being in a home without AC when it is so hot is not a good thing. They understand the urgency and made every attempt to quickly rectify the problem. The part that was broken was under warranty. We had to wait until Monday to hear if they located a replacement. They did!!! They replaced and repaired the unit early Monday. The owner Steve and the service tech, Jose, were quick to respond to our questions and replied promptly. BEST, hands down, HVAC co in the land! I called a local company (Seven Air) who would never return my calls, then finally asked that I email only, so a sales rep would get back to me. I did this, got an email saying how much a new air unit and new furnace would cost, yet no mention of brand, size, or even what I needed for the size of my home. Balanced Air in Fresno sent out a dubious looking salesman who told me I needed all new ductwork ($15,000). I just laughed as I had the house inspected, ductwork was fine, and I personally went under the house to check! Steve Patrick's men were top notch professionals, got in and out same day, and even gave me a complimentary free inspection the following year. Oh, and did I mention they were much less expensive?! I got BOSCH equipment and the correct sizes to heat or chill my house down quickly. I even asked the tech guys to inspect my ductwork, and they said it was fine, no worries. You have to watch some of these shady businesses trying to take advantage of people. Maybe the sales people get a big commission on unnecessary work and their company doesn't know what they're doing. Our heat went out on a weekend. (Of course!) I called Saturday morning; Keal (the tech) arrived same day and identified the probable source of the problem. He also returned on Sunday with Steve, the owner, to verify the problem and the part needed. (It was complicated.) Keal tracked down the part on Monday morning as soon as the local Lennox warehouse opened, made sure it was covered by warranty and installed it promptly and efficiently by Monday afternoon. Steve Patrick has always serviced our HVAC twice a year and at 30 years old and I KNOW their professional upkeep kept the old unit running for as long as it did. They had just been out in May for our "before summer tune up" and Jose said "ok, this is really it, if something goes wrong it's replacement time". We've been milking it along for probably 5 years now. Sure enough that day came on Monday last week, during our 100+ degree burnfest. Ugh! I expected a long wait because face it, everyone is busy and over worked right now. I can only guess that maybe because we were a long term customer (decades) they fit us in the next day (Tuesday) and sure enough, its time for a new one. We were delighted with the bid we got because we'd heard the horror stories of what it costs now a days. They said it would be a day to get a new unit however due to their schedule it would be about a week and a half before they could get the crane (roof top) and installation. Time to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Well, God Bless them and our good fortune, because they were able to install the new unit on Thursday of the same week and it was just shy of an all day project. They even explained that they needed to put smoke alarms in all our bedrooms and a CO2 alarm between the kitchen and bedrooms due to Fresno County building code, and it was all included in the quote. Seriously? How delightful is that? As always, they were professional, prompt, and easy to work with from the office staff, owner, and servicemen. And I really like the fact that I get the same serviceman every time. He knows our unit and everything he's done to it. He even reminded me he gave me a quote 3-5 years ago for a new one. Milk it baby, milk it to keep it working. I know a lot of people want to have home warranties and you're inundated by the commercials however you don't always get the best in servicemen and companies and you are at their mercy as to when they can come out. I've heard horror stories of weeks and months of people waiting with no air conditioning. I'd rather save that monthly payment and give it to the local company that will treat me like family and make me feel safe and comfortable. As always, Thank you Steve Patrick and Company!! read more

I called Steve Patrick Air in 2018 they said I needed a new air conditioner so I purchased one, fast forward July 2023 called them to a different house that needed service once again they said I need a new air conditioner, so I called another company and they said it just needed to be serviced.I saved $14,000 because Steve Patrick didn't get to use his crane and sell me an overpriced unit. Good luck to anybody that uses them and make sure you get a second opinion. They are going to try to sell you a unit that comes with a rebate but it cost $14000 + or the tech will offer to fix it for $2500 on the spot. Watch these guys there shady. Once again, Steve Patrick came through HUGE for me today, on a Sunday. I got home from work late Saturday to a really nice surprise in 106 degree heat... my AC unit was blowing heat. NICE! The house got up to 90 degrees inside and I could barely sleep 3 hours and woke up soaked in sweat. I called Steve on Sunday and he had a technician named Jeff here in 30 minutes. I called about 10-12 different places claiming to have 24-hour emergency service, with each one saying they couldn't come out until the next day or later. They came out to see our AC unit two years ago. They couldn't help us get it going while we bought a new one. We paid them for coming out, and we called a different company. They came out and were able to press a button and got the air going for us. When I called the tech back, and he told me to go ahead a void the check since they hadn't done what the other company had done for us, so I did. I VOIDED the check. I did not put a Stop on it. Today we called them back to see if they could come out to take a look at our unit again, and the receptionist told us we had "stiffed" them and they were not coming back. I called back to tell her what had happened, and her answer??? "What difference does it make what I said? We're still not coming back. Steve was here when I told your husband that, and he was ok with it." Luckily for us we already had our technician taking a look, but words should matter when running a business, and accusing people of stealing should not be part of their business motto. read more

Steve Patrick A/C is great. They are honest and their prices are great too. Their staff and their onsite technicians were quality, courteous and their follow up was very good. I just had to replace my old R-22 A/C that was 15 years old. Every other company (most of the big names that advertise a lot) was going to charge me about $7K to $8K just for the new R-10 unit and evaporator coil. Steve Patrick's guy Darryl came out and took a look at it, and then they stated that the furnace (which was in good condition and working) had the blower in it which is the brains of the system was the same age as the A/C units, and even though they could do the A/C unit and Evaporator Coil and leave the furnace as everyone else would have, to really "take care of us" the right thing would be to upgrade the furnace too. They didn't know what I had been quoted before, they just went up and gave me a quote. I was out the door for $7500 for a complete 12 year system with new furnace. Everybody else was $7K or more just for the A/C and Evaporator Coil replacement. I got Rheem hardware which is great, and I saved a lot of money. Now I have a system that will last for the next 10-12 years no problem. These guys are great. read more

Our AC went out at 5pm on a Friday evening. Steve Patrick AC was the only company that would come out Saturday morning at a reasonable overtime rate. Daniel was the tech who came. We were given a timeframe of 8-9am. Daniel arrived at 8:20am which was amazing since most companies arrive near the end of a timeframe. Daniel was very knowledgeable and quick to discover the issue. Impressive & honest. These folks know their stuff. My A/C went out the other day and they had it fixed the same day. They have friendly staff. My first contact with Gloria and the technician, David that came out for the repair was refreshing. They called to give me the heads up that he was on the way, so I didn't have to hang out at the hot house all day. When David arrived, he knew immediately what the problem was and had had the motor with him to fix it. He was done in no time at all. We are happy with the service and with the repair. read more

They installed 2 AC/header dual packs (one on the house, one on an additional office+bathroom). They also replaced the duct work in the house section .. but not the addition section since it was much newer and in OK shape. Done in 2 days, plenty fast in my opinion, and I don't see any issue with quality of work on the house portion. The office portion was a disaster. They had to run a new thermostat wire, and prior to doing so I told both Steve Patrick and the crew that came out that there was no attic access to that portion of the house - and if they needed to get in there to tell me and I'd make an exterior entrance for them. They went in anyway, leaving me confused as to how they managed to get to that portion of the attic, but they assured me it was no problem. They turned on the AC, fan kicked on, concluded it worked and left. After leaving I found I had no air flow at all to the office vents. In fact the only vent still being fed was in the bathroom with tremendous air flow. So, I cut the attic entrance I had told them I would if they needed it and checked it out. The guy that ran the thermostat wire crawled through where I told him not to. The ducts were blocking the entrance, so he crushed all 3 of them flat. Fresh boot and knee prints on them. He also ripped the air return as he rounded a corner. Left it all just like that and told me it was "no problem getting in there". I replaced all the ducts myself. Now a couple months later it's winter and I find I have no heat. They never tested it and I didn't think to. Simple enough fix, the thermostat was configured wrong, but that's no surprise, after all it's my fault: they had me do the setup BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T KNOW HOW. I'm not kidding. Someone on that crew can do it because the house thermostat is set up correctly, but the two guys that were there on day 2 with the office thermostat didn't know how to set it up, so they asked me to do it, and I guessed at the options. Had to read the manual and reconfigure it to get it working. Talked to Steve personally a while back after replacing the duct work and wasn't very happy with that conversation either. He was apologetic and offered 4 times to "send someone first thing in the morning to fix it" - but I had told him repeatedly it's already fixed and I don't want his dishonest crew here again. I don't know what else I was expecting, but offering to come fix it is pretty pointless when I've told him it's already fixed. I notice he didn't offer to refund any money or cover the $220-ish that the new duct work cost me. There's also a foot long hole in my wall because one of the dummies couldn't figure out which studs to run the thermostat wire between, so I guess trenching is an acceptable solution, right? But to be fair they were going to come and repair that until I told them to stay away. So, my experience is that one guy on the crew is crooked and a couple others are lacking the knowledge they need to do the basics of their jobs. In the end the installation is quite nice but I've spent a couple days in the attic and reading a manual and checking wiring to get it working myself. I'd recommend looking for a more professional company. read more

My A/C had stopped blowing cold air, I was lucky enough to have a guy I know check the unit & he informed me of a major leak, that would cost almost as much as a new unit. I called several well known HVAC companies & all were professional & confirmed what the first guy told me. After getting several bids Steve was the best price and worked with me on the price. Once we shook hands on the deal he set up his guys to show up the following Saturday morning. His crew showed up on time and went to work straight away, they were professional, knowledgeable, clean & friendly. SO not impressed. I think this business used to be more professional but as of right now, I would never use them again or recommend them to anyone I know. The tech came out and wrote on the invoice that he basically plugged in a couple of things and replaced the air filter (that we provided) and then billed us for 90 minutes. The guy was only there for maybe 10-15 minutes. My dad is a licensed general contractor and has recommended this business for a long time but the new receptionist tried telling my dad that they don't have an account with them. It took quite awhile to figure that mess out. I don't know if they need to find a new receptionist or if they're just that incompetent. I know they used to be a good business but we were billed $127.50 for the tech to basically plug in a couple of things and install an air filter (which I could have done myself in 5 second.) I would love to revise my review once Steve Patrick gets things straightened out but at this point, I would definitely recommend that you find another HVAC business to work with. read more

Excellent service; fair price; very reliable/honest; and very determined in getting the job done right. Steve, the owner, is very responsive by text, too. His staff who answered the phone were very friendly. First, I had an HVAC (house heating) failure on a Saturday morning during a cold winter day; Steve answered the phone and said "I will get a technician to your house 'shortly.'" Within about an hour, Daniel, the technician, arrived, diagnosed the problem, and gave me options (one of our two [old] units was having a problem, and coincidentally, we were just about ready to shop for a new HVAC). Long story short, Steve gave prices for options, and was very attentive in personally following through the installation project to a timely completion. He was able to repair, rather than have to replace, our HVAC's old "economizer" (i.e., outdoor air intake through the HVAC for spring or fall AM/PM temps). I highly recommend Steve Patrick. read more
