I live in California, but have 2 properties in east Texas.at Holly Lake Ranch for future retirement. Until then we need to make them rentals. After reading Shy's glowing reviews of himself and his business we were excited to begin this new relationship. That excited feeling turned to disappointment rather quickly. He advertises account managers to help you or answer questions. These managers do not exist. He also says he has a maintenance staff which is a joke. He represents himself as a broker for Keller-Williams in Tyler at 6761 Old Jacksonville Hwy. I suggest you call them as I did.... They have never heard of Philip Lee (Shy) Shinalt. BTW. Shy is his sons name which he uses. Why? Because he is hiding the fact that he has been arrested for a felony. Look up Philip Lee Shinalt. I wish I did. There is no 'Online Owners Portal' or 'Centralized Accounting' and his claim to have 'Impeccable Ethics and Integrity' is an out rite LIE. I am going to follow Lisa Y's suggestion and file a complaint with TREC. We need to get this guy terminated. read more

Philip Shinalt aka Shy Shinalt stole from me and my tenants. We entered a contract for him to manage my duplex. He failed to respond to months of repeated contacts via phone email and certified mail. He finally submitted one payment to me after 4 months of management, and then once again was never heard from again. I subsequently did the online research I should have done originally and found a news report referencing a Phil Shinalt getting arrested for "fraudulent use of identifying information, a state jail felony," that I believe to be for the same person. Finally, I got in touch with both of my tenants since this time, and was told he had not responded to any of their maintenance requests or messages over the course of the last few months. I have also had the misfortune of using this man to manage a property of mine. He is a crook at best. I am a real estate agent and I am amazed that he still has a license. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Texas Real Estate Commission and I encourage you to do the same. He is licensed under the name Philip Lee Shinalt.
