I have been going to this place for years but now they have a new owner I think and my last experience is my last time there. Had a broken belt on my ram truck and they checked it out and said my a/c was broken and needed whole new unit $4500 and for some reason I didn't believe them so I went to Grayson County Diesel and found out my a/c was not broken and I needed a new alternator instead something that Texas Diesel replaced in February and it was still in warranty. Poor customer service, poor workmanship, and misleading customers. I have been here for the same few issues 8 times over the past 6 months and my issues are still not resolved. Every time I come back; they say they forgot a specific item during the previous visit, even after I always double check with them prior to leaving the shop. I'm currently in need to return for my 9th visit for an item that was supposedly fixed 2 weeks ago, but now they stated they never actually fixed the problem properly, so they will if I bring it back one more time. They are very misleading about using new parts vs. remanufactured parts, their invoices say new on parts that are actually remanufactured. I discovered this after parts were already installed because one of the mechanics accidentally made the comment while looking at the truck. I was told the remanufactured parts would be swapped for new ones, and this never happened, I was lied to. I have multiple inspection reports and repair invoices that do not match, they mention needed repairs but don't show where they were ever actually completed, I only had this by word of mouth which is why I am now ensuring I get everything in writing from them. read more

Our experience with Texas diesel began back in February when we had an unfortunate situation of needing a new engine. We ordered a long block from a engine builder in south Texas. We hired Texas diesel to complete the engine swap. This was the start of our nightmare. In a document wrote by Matt Canavan the owner himself when our truck was on the way out of their shop he states that when they removed the cab of our truck they noticed the transmission bell housing had a crack. They never once mentioned this to us before beginning any work on our truck. We had ordered a brand new custom engine to the tune of $5600 we would never have had them put this in knowing this about the transmission. However, this is not how it happened. What actually happened was they put in our brand new engine and incorrectly installed the flywheel. This wasn't evident right away. Once the new engine was in they told us that something was wrong and the truck wouldn't run without violently vibrating/shaking. This is how we know the transmission bell housing wasn't cracked initially because once the new engine was in if they knew about the transmission being cracked this is where this was the second opportunity to address this but again it wasn't mentioned. Instead they began trouble shooting the issue which included driving our diesel truck that was vibrating/shaking violently repeatedly even leaving it to idle for 3 hours. If Matt canavan knew our transmission bell housing was cracked why the hell would they drive our truck like this?!? They drove our truck repeatedly with it acting like this. It took them 5 months to finally throw in the towel and tell us our vehicle was inoperable. At this time we had towed to a transmission shop. He still never mentioned anything about them finding a crack in the transmission housing only that they thought our issue was with the transmission or with the engine harness. The only mention of a cracked bell housing was in the document wrote by Matt, this was wrote after they had our truck for 5 months Once at the transmission shop they noticed the crack and replaced the transmission. This vibrating/shaking was still present. The transmission shop had their mechanics dig deeper and that's when they noticed that our flywheel was installed incorrectly and once this was fixed the violent shaking/vibrating was gone. In the 5 months they had our truck we gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured since they were the professionals they would get it figured out. This was not our experience at all and now they refuse to own up to their mistakes. They also voided the warranty on our engine claiming that our new engine was unbalanced and when it was checked by a 3rd party they came back and said our new engine was perfect. Our expensive diesel truck was not treated with respect. They also kept a valve train from our engine core that was supposed to be returned but never was costing us an additional $200 off our core refund. We trusted this shop based on their reviews and our experience had been a living nightmare. Once we found the issue we tried to contact Matt via phone only to be given the run around multiple times until we personally showed up. Matt was not professional and treated us as if we are trying to rip them off. Mind you they also kept the $2500 that we paid them which at this time Matt told us "let's go to the bank and I'll give you $2500 to end this right now" we declined because we know without a doubt that our transmission was damaged while in their possession and they refused to own up to this. During this meeting Matt was argumentative and even told us to "sue him" at one point. We left the shop and they (Matt and his wife) called the transmission shop we used and told them they would pay for the transmission but had to pay the transmission shop directly. Because we had already paid them we asked for payment directly to us. They told us to go ahead and come into the shop when we did they again refused to pay for the transmission claiming they could only pay us half. read more

I have a 2004 Dodge Cummins. I've been to a few places in Texas (I recently moved here) A lot of shops didn't want to touch my truck. Because it's either "too old." or too "aftermarket." The first time I went this truck had a list of problems. They ordered the parts and about 4 days later went into the shop. I got it back 2 days later. For new lights, rotation of tires, tie rods, drag link, ball joints, radiator, etc. Most shops this truck has been too would take way over a week. Once I got my truck back I noticed something leaking so I called on a weekend waiting to get a voicemail, They picked up and gave me Rubens phone number and texted pictures of it figured it out that it was (Just water and my trucks fine)My FWD bearing is broken and old, They even offered to go to junk yards to find the part because no company makes them anymore because the truck is older. On the 4th of July weekend I called knowing they were closed but to leave a voicemail. They called me back when they're all off making sure that my trucks okay. My truck broke down a while after (completely unrelated) They got it in and fixed it with ordering parts right then and there I got it back three days later.
