Review #491…read more Saturday - 8/31/2024 Drum Roll In The City Of Drums! I'm still reviewing in PA after visiting family for 2 Birthday celebrations, so was also here to Cheer & Dine at Evan's for the first time. But Will Be Back here in Drums Again! 5 stars for Food, Service and Ambiance ! ***** My cousins live in Mountain Top and every year or twice a year depending on our schedules we visit each other in our states 10 hours away! My dear and wonderful cousins Donna & Steve D. always likes to surprise Me with a new and different place to eat inside especially since they know what to expect for a excellent dining experience for lunch or dinner. We all stopped here for dinner on Friday August 9th since being in town for Aunt Peg's surprise 90th Birthday Party on Saturday the 10th. Note this restaurant establishment does NOT accept reservations but there's plenty of room inside in front, back at the bar and a private dining room for groups and special occasions. Upon entering the door is that hometown feeling where locals dine more frequently than a Michigander as Myself but that's okay cuz Steve picked Evan's Roadhouse as a "You will Love their chicken and Philly steak sandwiches and those beer battered fries. So I said You are the King of Food! Our server was Katy and she was very welcoming to seat us all in the Private Dining Room... maybe she thought to keep us quiet away from others? We are happy and loud gabbers! lol The menu has many delicious and tasty food items to try. (Photos attached) They also offer a Happy FOOD Hour too so eat after work or just early ! The BAR Menus we talked about 1st of course and throughout our long dining visit the 6 of us drank 3 rounds of cocktails to celebrate Steve's birthday and just being together for our Summer visit. I certainly enjoyed My cocktail called a Blue Hawaiian although it was green after mixing in Malibu Rum, Blue Curacao, Pineapple & Lime Juice. I ordered the shaved chicken wrap sandwich and it was loaded with meat, cheese, peppers and onions plus filled with flavor and YES I ate the whole thing with Evan's famous tasty beer battered seasoned fries. Another great place to eat in Drums, PA (Near Aunt Peg's apartment and My cousins house 10 minutes down the hill in Mountain Top. Prices are reasonable although another visiting family member took the bill to pay so I didn't see the total although the bar tab was thirsty to say ! $$$ Thank YOU TO KATY our server that was attentive, pleasant and helpful with suggestions to our questions and with ideas as well. Love the painted etch windows where I ate showing several scary movie characters to brighten up one's views at all table and booths. Hours: Monday - Sunday 11:30 AM till 9 PM Call for Carry-Out: Before 8:30 PM (570) 788-8888 What a satisfying visit here at Evans to chat, sip, cheer and have an enjoyable dinner for 2 hours off 309 and Honey Hole Rd. (YES another review coming) Sincerely, Karen N. SpecialK :-) Macomb, MI.

It was a Sunday evening so we went in search of a place that had the NFL football games, beer and good food and we found it right here! Danielle was working behind the bar and you couldn't find a better bartender and great personality ... She turned an unexpected break down into a pleasant enjoyable evening. We started with their bruschetta which was a little different than the others we've had before in that it had black olives in it, but was very good. It was a large portion and came with plenty of toast points to enjoy it on. For dinner we split the fireside special which was a 6 ounce New York strip on Italian bread with fried onions & peppers. We opted for a mixture of hot and sweet peppers and oh my were the hot peppers HOT! But the sandwich was very good and all the ingredients were fresh. We met Ron, who I believe is the owner ... He was extremely nice about our predicament and even extended a recommendation on who to contact at the dealership that I believe helped us out the following day with our mechanical issue. It was definitely the service and friendliness of the staff at the bar that pushed this review up to a four star. The people of Hazelton are lucky to have such a nice establishment and great people in their area.

Ample parking with plenty of handicapped accessibility. As a disabled veteran, I truly appreciate this consideration. 8. Comfortable seating according to guest preferences--booths, tables with pull-in chairs, and bar stools. Accommodating all sizes of people. The seating and tables align with the beautiful decor throughout this establishment. 7. CLEAN restrooms!! What more can I say about this? 6. Local nostalgic decor to stir up great memories of Penn State Highacres, Angela Park, Eckley Miner's Village, and more. I remember ferris wheels at several local amusement parks and fairs, like the ferris wheel photo mural on one wall. Days spent on campus at Highacres as a student, community member, diehard Nittany Lions fan, and daughter of a dedicated Penn State employee (my Dad). We sat in front of the miners' photo mural, and think about my hard-working maternal grandfather who labored in Schuylkill County anthracite coal mines. 5. Specials. Special creepy (think gummy eyeball in your drink) adult beverages around Halloween. Dollaritas. Happy Hour for late-night munching and thirst-quenching. Today's salute to veterans was extra-special. Gift card specials, too. Staff are knowledgeable. 4. Well-stocked bar. Mom had a tasty Manhattan cocktail, I enjoyed a chardonnay spritzer. If you like fruity drinks, there are plenty of alcohol-laden and alcohol-free options. Frozen and on-the-rocks margaritas are super. This location's bartender--Albert--created our adult beverages, and they were PERFECT! 3. Military recognition. Most recently (tonight!), Veteran's Day free meal, with various options from a special menu. Choices included entrees of Asian salad, 6 ounce sirloin steak, breaded shrimp, cheeseburger, chicken fingers, and more. 2. Excellent food. We love the artichoke dip. Just the right balance of ingredients, tortilla chips, and tomato salsa to start our dining experience. Mom loved her medium-rare sirloin accompanied by broccoli and mashed potatoes. I savored crispy shrimp, fresh-cut seasoned fries, and chunky Cole slaw. We had enough for to-go containers. As a big supporter of reuse, reduce (waste), repurpose, and recycle, thank you for the plastic carryout containers. The clear lid eases selection of mine versus Mom's leftovers, although we'll likely share! The carryout brown paper bag is the right size and has appropriate length, sturdy carrying straps. 1. The TEAM that comprises West Hazleton Applebee's! You are super-duper! While you amply saluted veterans tonight, we salute you for making our visit top-notch! Our server, Ashley, is so personable, helpful, and efficient. Albert makes terrific beverages. Julie is such a warm, welcoming hostess who greets all visitors. Manager on duty Erica is professional and seeks feedback from customers. Thank you for an outstanding visit to our neighborhood Applebee's!! Keep up the great work! We'll return soon.
