I got a tattoo here in 2021, it was two snakes on my arm. Easy right? The artist was 2 hours late…read moreto my appointment, asked me if she could reschedule me which I explained that this was my only day off so she said she'd keep the store open for me. She then proceeded to bring out the incorrect design, which was an owl, then free handed the snakes on my arm. Sketch looked fine, so I said go ahead. I got my first tattoo here so I trusted the place. She proceeded to go too deep in multiple parts of my skin, causing multiple blowouts and scars all over the tattoo. Completely didn't do the shading that I wanted, and we couldn't even finish the tattoo because of how painful it was from her going too deep. Then she had the audacity to change me more for having to stay after close, even though it was her mistake. Never ever come here. They refused to do anything about it afterwards even though my skin is ruined.

Check out their events posted on social media - Instagram (greenlighttatoosandartgallery)!…read more I can't believe that I am the first person to review Green Light Tattoos and Art Gallery! They're one of the hottest destinations in Cleveland for tattoos, piercings, and artsy soirees! This business is located in the East Bank of Flats. I hear that they're the only tattoo studio in the Flats! They are proudly Black owned! The owners are two brothers super passionate about art in various mediums. Location: This studio is located in the Flats and is adjacent to 27 Club Coffee. In fact, the two businesses are connected by a door. It's very convenient when they collab on events on the same night. Or if you're specifically craving tattoos + coffee! The latter seems like a great splurge. Quality/Services: This parlor provides piercings and tattoos. They have limited walk-ins, appointments, and tattoo services during events. I sometimes see their flash sales on social media.I don't have any tattoos myself (can't commit to one!), but a few of my friends and fellow event attendees got inked here. The tattoos that I have seen were very simple and were tiny tattoos. I have heard great things about the quality of work. Few of my friends remarked that the work takes a long time (wait and appointment at events). I'd say that the latter is expected when there is a line at a popping event. Salon Layout: This studio has a very spacious main area. Most tattoo artists have chairs in this space. There are some nooks and rooms that certain artists have in the space. There is also a lobby and a small back room for socialization during events. Events: What really sets Greenlight apart is the love for art beyond the canvas of your body. All artists in the space create art in more than one medium. And so, you can periodically view their art displayed during art events. Art events seem to be hosted every few months. Events are announced on Instagram. You can secure tickets on Eventbrite. I have attended various events in this space such as Cleveland Vibes' Halloween Party, May Flowers Art Show, and others. These events feature permanent art at the studio, and exhibit-specific art. Most art is located right at the front where you can mingle and check out emotive pieces. My understanding is that every artist during their shows is an in-house tattoo artist. Based on my observation, most guests seem to be regulars and part of an in-crowd. It's hard to get a tour of the space, get introduced, mingle, or figure out how the services work. I feel that every experience at Greenlight fuels my creativity! It's such a cool venue for the creative community! Next time you're in the Flats or grabbing a cup of 27 Club Coffee, make Greenlight your destination. Whether you are seeking a new tattoo or want to see eclectic art, this is a place to be! Also, add all your tattoo photos on Yelp or I'll have to get one!

The piercer, a white woman with black hair, was unfriendly and came across as snarky and rude from the very beginning. Instead of taking my friend to a private area, she had her lift up her shirt in the lobby. She then had her sit on the couch, looked her up and down, shook her head, and told her she was "too fat" for a belly button piercing and that she didn't have the right anatomy. Whether or not someone is a candidate for a piercing, there is a respectful and professional way to communicate that. The way she spoke to my friend was humiliating and unnecessarily hurtful. My friend already struggles with body image, and hearing those comments from another woman left her feeling embarrassed and ashamed. Watching someone treat another person that way was upsetting. After leaving, we went to another piercing shop, where the piercer evaluated her professionally and completed the piercing without any issues. We were also told that the interaction we experienced at True Art Tattoo was handled in a very unprofessional manner. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend True Art Tattoo. We encountered rudeness, body shaming, and a complete lack of compassion and professionalism. No customer should leave feeling belittled over their body.

I was maybe 15/16 at the time, but it was sentimental. The owner completely killed my dream that day and humiliated me in front of everyone in that shop, telling me how horrible he thought it was artistic wise. Many years later... I'm an adult now, working at the hospital. I was struggling with my mental health a lot in that time and decided to go in and get a tattoo in support of mental health. I figured, surely that guy cannot still be there if he's been that rude to other people.... Spoiler.. he's there! Another artist did my actual tattoo, but the entire time he was sitting across from us just talking shit about everything. The tattoo, mental health, the placement, being a woman, being a "nurse." Just everything he had a problem with. Unfortunately I've hit another low point in my mental health, and I'm trying like hell to heal. So I'm taking steps to make myself better. I'd suggest to "Andy" to look for professional help as well, as you clearly have some kind of mommy issue going on. Peace and Love !
