Joe was LOVELY, made sure we were comfortable, and was very skilled, leading to a (relatively) pain-free experience. They also have a good variety of jewelry in the store. I also have to shout out their incredibly reasonable rates; my daith was 30 (before tip), as was my friend's tragus, which is better than any other shop I've seen post-COVID. I've had excellent service in the past from not only the piercer Joe but the artist Victoria. Today I took the relationship a step further and entrusted them with piercing my granddaughter's ears. Went to get my second nostril piercing done (to have one on either side) and to get a jewelry change. Piercer seemed really nice and charismatic but when going to get the piercing done he dipped the sterile needle into a topical numbing cream and pierced me with it, numbing cream and all. When asking him why he did that, he responded with "that's just how i do it", he didn't even ask me if numbing cream was something i wanted to use. He had more than enough time to put the numbing cream on my nose and let it soak in while doing my jewelry change. Extremely unprofessional. read more

Seems sanitary but their piercing jewelry is "surgical steel" (not a verifiable metal, should be titanium or gold) and externally threaded, which irritates the piercing hole anytime you take it out to clean (after its all the way healed). Joe FIXED my butchered belly piercing!! I got my belly piercing done at another shop (All Tattoos, Strongsville) and my piercing was done wrong! It was way too deep into my navel cavity. I went back to that shop because I was having severe swelling, the shop exchanged the bar for me. After two days it was worst than ever! So I knew I needed a second opinion, I went to go see Joe at Tattoo Cafe and he re-pierced my belly to make sure the belly ring was positioned correctly. Considering the amount of swelling and how tender my belly button was - it was almost painless!! Moral of the story, Joe fixed my belly button piercing and I'm forever grateful. read more

Only giving 3 stars for the cheap prices and nice staff. I did a walk-in for a normal septum piercing, they weren't busy and had no problem servicing me, but the man did the piercing so quickly and didn't pay much attention at all. Needless to say my septum is extremely crooked, but it was only $15 so i really can't complain much. I'm just going to live with it. read more

I was happy with the customer service, but the piercer completely messed up my vertical labret (lip) piercing. He pierced it too low on the bottom and it began to migrate up. Per my usual piercer, I took the piercing out as 1) the quality of jewelry was not allowing it to heal properly and 2) the migration and rejection of of the placement won't allow it to heal. I now have to wait two weeks for it to heal to have it done properly. read more

I've been to this place twice now, once to gauge my septum and to pierce and gauge my ears, pierced with an 8, so it's awesome already. They were extremely professional, clean and sterile. I have 7 piercings (all on my ears) that were done by Joe, the owner. He's a super kind guy and very much experienced! He cleans all the jewelry and uses new needles straight out of the package every time. I've had cartilage piercings, triple forward helix, and daith done by him & going back to get more soon. This place was recommended to me by my best friend, who had the place recommended to her by her other friend. I recommended this place to about 3 other friends and now all my friends and I go here for piercings!!! Lol. Prices are amazing as well!!! Every piercing is $20. I was a walk-in, there to get a piercing. I called ahead to ask about Tattoo Cafe's covid precautions. They assured me that they had a mask and physical distancing policy in place. When I got there, I was told I'd wait about 10-15 minutes for my piercing. I ended up waiting 25+ minutes, during which, I saw employees without their masks on, and crowds of patrons not practicing social distancing. The place reeked of cannabis, and all their piercing jewelry was made of "surgical steel," which isn't a real, endorsed classification for biosafe materials. The artists seem talented, but there are many cleaner, safer places to get body modifications done in Cleveland. After seeing several employees without their masks on, I decided to take my business elsewhere. If they can't enforce best-practice during a pandemic, do you really want to trust them with blood-borne pathogen or aspetic precautions? read more

I have been researching Daith piercings. Found Tattoo Cafe and Joe! My sis and I have had migraines since 5yrs old, dad & grandma had them. I refused daily meds for them and botox. Went in and yes, I had a mild migraine. Once Joe pierced through the cartilage - BOOM - my migraine was gone. The relief was overwhelming that I started crying and I hope I didn't freak Joe out, but that was unbelievably quick relief. I can only akin it to when I have a 3 day migraine and I have to go to the ER and get my shot of high dose pain meds. I would recommend this to anyone with migraines and Tattoo Cafe is the only name on my list to have it done by! read more

Artist Nick has done work on me prior which I was pleased with. So when I was ready to get my next larger detailed piece, I naturally wanted him. I went in the cafe on Saturday to show him the design I wanted, place a deposit and I was given a appointment on Monday at 5:00 pm. Upon arriving, after I changed into shorts, I was then told by Nick that he double booked & was setting up to do another persons tattoo. I then asked him if I could at lease see the art work, which he informed me he didn't have ready. He asked me to come back tomorrow again at 5:00 pm...I then changed & left. What bothers me the most I NEVER received a phone call of this issue. I felt I was dumped on, and quietly left. I dwelled on this issue a bit, and I thought to myself, I did nothing wrong. This was very un-business like and I should have received a call earlier in the day. 5 stars all the way! This place rocks we stopped in for the glitter effect cancer benifit they were kind enough to host. We never would of expected the place to be so nice. They have a huge bar where the crowd of over 60 people were comfortably spread out. The bar served coffee and soda with several booths and televisions to view. They have such a large place comfortable booths for those who just wanted to watch. I have several piercings and tattoos so being in tattoo shops all around the city I have never seen as much jewelery in one place as well as the enormous selection pricing was the best I've seen by far. Talking to the staff they are expanding the store to more than double its size in the spring. The tattoos we got were amazing and all for a great cause we can't wait to come back. read more
