A great place to support local! We were driving through and wanted a quick lunch that wasn't fast food and Two Slices was perfect! When you walk in you are greeted by plants and beautiful paintings. The space is welcoming and calm. I ordered the grilled cheese with cheddar cheese on country white bread with a side of tomato soup and it was delicious. I really liked the quality of the bread! The person who was with me ordered the turkey sandwich with aioli and it was a very generous size! I tried the sandwich and it was very tasteful and made with quality meat and veggies. The restaurant also had a grab and go cooler of a few pre-made sandwiches. This is a great idea for people who are on a time schedule. The restaurant also has a small bakery case full of cookies and other various pastries. The only thing that I would prefer is that I could've refilled my cup of water. It was a super busy Friday afternoon when we visited and I felt bad asking a worker to refill my water while they were taking orders. (You order/pay at the counter, someone brings it out to you, you take care of your tray/trash when finished, there is no waitress service which is totally fine!) Two Slices was absolutely fantastic and I am so glad I found it. We stopped by for lunch on our way back to Grand Rapids and grabbed a couple sandwiches, but as we were checking out, we noticed the display of cookies that the owner said were freshly baked. Just yelping the area for something quick after we got off the boat and stumbled onto this GEM. First, we had the Beef Sandwhich and the Turkey bacon ranch. Both phenomenal in their own way. First the bread...did they wake up at 3 am to make this? I mean it's that soft and fresh. The toast they got on the turkey sandwich was golden. They were not lying. The beef, well they pry cooked that while baking that bread. Everything was purposeful in the sandwhich. Ingredients finely chopped, dressings homemade, quality of meat was excellent. I HIGHLY recommend this bakery for wedding cake. I gave her several pictures and explained my vision over the phone and she nailed it perfectly! It had that WOW factor!!! Cake and frosting were moist and flavorful. I asked for dark chocolate with raspberry between the layers. Divine! Usually cakes dry out but this cake is still moist and yummy for leftovers three days after the wedding. We are still enjoying it. I can't say thank you enough for such a gorgeous cake!!! Two Slices has become our Manistee lunch go-to. Walk through the door and you'll find yourself in one of the most spotlessly clean restaurants, but by no means sterile looking. The walls are a pleasant color, with interesting works of art, almost entirely by the owner. The food's why we're there, though. The menu is a nicely sized assortment of mostly sandwiches (hence the name). Every one has been delicious. The Papastrami was my latest discovery yesterday. Served hot or cold (I went for hot), the meat was excellent and extremely flavorful, with the right amount of mustard. Every sandwich comes with a pickle and a bag of Great Lakes chips. The owner locally sources as much as possible, and all the products appear to be Michigan made. Service has always been reasonably quick, and always friendly. They're happy to answer any questions about the food. And the price is quite reasonable. read more

While waiting in line you have plenty of freedom to observe the healthy, diverse choices on the menu. Should you choose to get a combo, there is plenty of natural sodas and drinks, as well as a choice of chips or fruit with your meal. I opted for an almond creamer cold brew (delicious), a chocolate chip and walnut cookie (moist and chewy), and a cup of chicken chili (light spice and hearty). Stopped by here for lunch during a road trip back from Traverse City and it was one of the most enjoyable sandwich places I've ever been to. The place is off the highway, so you have to explore the town a bit to find this spot but it is totally worth checking in and grabbing a bite.
