He worked with me on a menu and he delivered my vision. Even with extreme circumstances (another vendor broke our garage door 24 hours before the event) Chef Peter and his crew took it in stride. They were on time and hauled their heavy equipment in and got straight to work. He was basically cooking/grilling on one side of our building (back patio), having to run back forth to the interior kitchen and sink. He and his crew worked SO hard that night. They are very professional. Every plate was perfect, they cleared the tables and made sure everything was spotless when they left. I also hired Jacob the Bartender (he works with Chef Peter) and WOW! Crafted cocktails and excellent service. Every person who was late to my party was sat and had a drink in their hand in less than a few minutes. Jacob was a pleasure to work with. Great bartender. I could not ask for a better duo for the night. Also big thanks to Tomas and Erick - their waitstaff. Amazing night they pulled off. I'm a perfectionist. Type A host. I'm very particular on how I throw my parties and Chef Peter surpassed my expectations & more. My entire firm will not shutup about how amazing the food and service was. The party was a hit and I believe it was because of the food & bar. I will 100% hire this team again for future events.

This review is long overdue!…read more Eric was a joy to work with. He was prompt with communication, and provided perfect recommendations for my private, birthday party dinner. His menu selections were top notch, and my husband and I were thrilled with the outcome. We did 3 appetizers before the 4 course meal began. We did the elote (street corn) appetizer, tuna tartare, and lamb chop. Of note, I don't eat lamb at all, but Eric's Lamb chop was AN AMAZING FLAVOR BOMB! I appreciated that him and his server showed up prepared with all of their supplies (and small plates for serving). For dinner, we had the heirloom tomato and burrata salad, followed by the char grilled octopus, then the Australian Wagyu steak with creme brûlée to finish. The menu was superb, Eric presented his gorgeous plates with detail and attention, and (of course) they cleaned up everything after! This was a PHENOMENAL experience, and we are already looking to book Eric again for my husband's birthday! Eric, you are an artist and amazing chef! Thank you for offering this wonderful experience and making my birthday memorable!

My wife had many questions regarding technique, knife types, and preparation for cooking that he answered diligently. The food, the FOOD, was amazing. The flavor complimented the portion size and the presentation was artistic. Afterwards, he cleaned and left no trace (beyond some Wagyu beef , and some of the deconstructed s'mores). We highly recommend Chef Brad Banan for any event.

The food was outstanding and elegantly presented, and his team -- including the bartender and three servers -- was equally impressive. We ordered breakfast for a board meeting, yet not just any breakfast…read more A few on our board follow the "Jain" practice when it comes to food restrictions. The Jain veggie diet is one of the most strict forms of religiously-motivated diet regulations. basically, nothing with a root. No onions, garlic, eggs, gelatin. The food cannot even be placed next to anything that differs from this type of eating. No fruit can be next to bacon, so on and so on. The religion is all about non-violence (when it comes to people, animals, plants) all about peace "in the short and long of it". So this can be a challenge to say the least. In cooperating this type of catering, can be difficult. Yet, what a surprise when the breakfast showed up, with a CA style breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon and potatoes. And two Quiches made with Tofu and a beautiful fruit platter, honestly you wouldn't even be able to tell they weren't made with eggs. I even had several people that are veggie only eaters, try the quiche and they were so impressed!!! I actually tried it, and I am a meat and potatoes kind of gal, and it was simply amazing! Not only did it taste wonderful, I can tell that some serious research went into making this breakfast! And it was so appreciated on our end. Thank you CK Catering for taking the time and getting this right!!!! Our board members loved the breakfast!

My wife called me a Groomzilla... But I just tell her I like things done right…read more My wife and I got married last weekend at the Ocean Institute. Creative Cuisine was 1 of 3 of the catering companies that was approved for this venue. Since I'm the fatty in the relationship, the wifey put me in charge of putting together a custom menu and working with the caterers. I wanted to put together a menu that represented the both of us. I'm from Maryland and she's from San Francisco, so I wanted to do food that was from our regions of the US. Our major judging criteria was Maryland Blue Crab Cakes and San Francisco Style Cioppino. These guys nailed it. It was hard finding someone in California that can make a decent crab cake. Other places had too much breading/mayo or not enough seasoning. Their crab cakes were very light, sweet, and fluffy... probably one of the best crab cakes I've tasted. Perfect for a summer wedding by the ocean. The Cioppiono was also done very well. The broth wasn't too thick or tomato-y and it had high quality seafood. We went with Mussels, Clams, Halibut, and Scallops. Originally, we also had shrimp, but decided against it to lower costs and not overload our guests with too much shrimp (ie, shrimp cocktails). One of my concerns was how it was going to be put together. Marguerite assured me that the seafood would be steamed a head of time, portioned, and put together onsite. EXACTLY what I wanted to hear. The day of the wedding Marguerite and her team was already in place and working their magic. She really had everything under control and everything went smoothly. The bonus was that the original 7 oz ribeye steaks that I specified were MUCH bigger the day of. People literally had porterhouse steaks on their plates. They also threw in shrimp and lump crab meat in the Cioppino. The servers they had were clean cut and very professional. The bartenders were AWESOME. Jon Beck gave me great tips on how much booze to buy, what kind of mixers to bring, etc. Although I was expecting him to take tips, he was declining tips from my guests all night. (That really classed up the wedding, in my opinion). Overall, Creative Cuisine did a fantastic job. My only small complaint is that the final invoice was 2,500 more than the original estimate. Of course if they have to stay longer to clean up or something, I get that I need to pay overtime. However, I was told that the "menu was very complex". Shouldn't that have that been accounted for when I was given the estimate? I let it slide, since we got some extra freebies and the guests raved about how good the food and service was. A little about my credentials: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky, engineering image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food.
