Had a party at my home with 100 plus people for me and my wife's 60th BDays and 35 years together. Found him online and saw some positive reviews. I also got quotes from a couple other catering companies. Jeff was competitive in price, but what sold me on him was him coming to my home prior to scope the venue, providing great ideas for not only the menu, but all his logistical expertise. In addition, he provided himself, 3 other servers for passed hor dourves, and a bartender and a bar back. Other catering companies were not providing as much help for relatively the same price. Chef Jeff catered a birthday event for us over the weekend. With having much experience with private chefs over the the decade our expectations were basic. Chef Jeff was anything but basic. We had Jeff at our wedding for about 170 people and could not believe how good the food was. We had multiple people tell us that it was the best wedding food they had (I highly recommend the salmon cakes and the chilean sea bass-they were such a hit.) Also, the portions were huge (someone told me this was the first wedding that he did not go home hungry.) More importantly, Jeff truly was able to deliver a personal touch that a lot of larger food vendors don't offer. I shopped around with different caterers and had meetings with the front desk/catering manager but with his company I spoke to him directly. This proved to be a godsend because the week of my wedding, it was forecasted to rain. The day of coordinator and event coordinator were MIA, but Jeff personally called me and guided me on rain contingency plans and even reached out to a rental company himself to help me. He also provided bar services (under Violet who was also amazing) and the drinks were WONDERFUL. Another pro about going through him rather than a larger company, is that we got flexibility and personalized touches. I wanted a larger food tasting with 8 family members and he was able to do this for us! Furthermore, I know when I spoke to another company, they said we could not alter any of their entree choices. For Jeff, he was able to give me options when I wanted to swap out sauces or swap out the sides. We had such a wonderful experience when Jeff catered our wedding 10 years ago that Jeff was the first person who came to mind when my husband was planning my party. It was a wonderful dinner! Jeff catered our Christmas Party and what can I say except Exceptional, Excellent, Amazing Food, and Amazing Service. Jeff and his staff created an experience for our guests and made it so easy for me. When they arrived he asked a few questions and I was sent to my room to get ready. They lit the candles 15 minutes before the party started and the evening was a well orchestrated dance. Jeff catered my post-wedding brunch for 80 guests at our community clubhouse. The selection and quality of the foods Jeff provided was fresh and delicious. It was a better brunch than we would have received at a restaurant. The omelette and mimosa stations were crowd pleasers. Jeff and his crew arrived early, provided beautiful linens, and incorporated the flowers from my wedding into the decor. His special french toast was exceptional! His staff was very professional and courteous to all guests. When the brunch was over, he packed up any leftover food and brought it back to our house and did a thorough clean-up at the clubhouse. I can't even begin to express how much I loved my experience with Chef Jeff. To start with, when I first reached out to Chef, my wedding was about 2-1/2 months away and in a somewhat remote location. We scheduled a meeting at the venue and luckily for us, he was blown away. It did not take him long to assess everything that was at his disposal, shared what he thought would be the best set up, and agree that he would like to be part of our special day. After a few emails, couple of phone conversations, we came up with a menu. And it was everything that we hoped for. So many compliments from our guests about the quality of the food. Flavors were spot on, appearance was beautiful, perfect. Appetizers were delish, with the seared tuna being a favorite. The rosemary tri-tip kabobs were seasoned so perfectly and the chicken with pesto was spot on (and they weren't skinny chicken breasts!!), the salad...I don't know what he did with this salad, but the husband ate it up and said he even liked the pears (he does not like pears at all) and thought the dressing was incredible. I asked my husband what his thoughts were, and they were simple: professional; easy going; reasonably priced; great food; nice; great appearance; easy to work with; great crew; etc. Needless to say, if we are ever in need of a caterer, this is who we are going to call first. We can't say enough about him! BTW, he was one of the first people to see me in my wedding dress that day and the way he complimented me made me feel special. Jeff recently catered our Housewarming Party for 70 people, and he was the best decision I've ever made in party planning! You can see these photos of his food and read how delicious it is, but the real MVP status is in his knowledge and ability to plan and adjust. Our counts changed over time, and he adjusted - we took away, we added - when the day came, he and his team perfectly orchestrated 4 hours of passing trays of perfect and delicious bites to every single guest. At the end of the day nearly every bite had been consumed, without having run out early or having lots left over! Jeff knows everything there is to know about how to feed your guests perfectly. I reached out to Jeff for my wedding at the recommendation of the reception venue's owner, a chef herself. Having contacted him a little more than a year in advanced, I had the pleasure of enjoying each step of planning everything food and rentals with him. Although my wedding was at a venue he was familiar with, he faced a challenge of fitting about double the amount of people he was used to in there. Not once did Jeff seem uncomfortable with the idea, and went out of his way to make it work. He visited the venue multiple times to measure, remeasure, and even measured once more the week of the wedding just to make sure we maximized the space as best as possible. He always had good ideas and recommendations when it came to color and style to help make my theme come to life. Now, the food. We did things in reverse, and had selected a menu to go on our RSVPs before we actually tasted anything. Although he came highly recommended, I still was a little nervous for the tasting. Our tasting was not just an ordinary tasting. Jeff came to my parents' house and cooked us a private dinner! He served us our three menu options (beef, fish, and a vegan option) plus the salad we had selected. This was done by plating one of each entree to show us how it would be served at the wedding, and then placing the rest on a platter so we could all take some for our own plate. He cooked us so much, we had leftovers for the rest of the week! And of course, the food was AMAZING. We had multiple guests with special dietary restrictions beyond what the vegan dish provided, but Jeff was not fazed by it. When I asked him if I needed to put a special indicator on the name cards, he told me there was no need, and that as long as I provided him with a cheat sheet, he would ensure his staff got the right food to everyone. And true to his word, he made it happen. One of my aunts mentioned how she appreciated that my uncle, who has a nut allergy, was served a walnut-free salad without any extra indicators or someone saying something to the staff. The day of the wedding, I did bridal portraits at the venue before the ceremony, and even though the cocktail hour was at 4:30pm, Jeff was there in the morning, helping to coordinate the rentals and directing his staff for the setup. They were ready to go before the very first guests arrived. Throughout the wedding, his staff was very attentive and would frequently check up on our sweetheart table to ensure we were eating and had drinks. They even came to us during our table visits to let us know that our food had arrived! Even Jeff came out to check up on us, which was very sweet. We had a small hiccup with one of the harder to reach tables not being served drinks, but as soon as we alerted the staff to it, they went out of their way to make sure that table got attention. After the wedding, I had family ask to speak with Jeff to compliment his food. I didn't get to try the appetizers we picked, but I'm told they went fast, and even people who do not usually eat the appetizers were chasing the servers to get more. There was also a small change in our potato selection, but everyone told me they loved the potatoes they were served. In the days after the wedding, I was told by family that the food was among the best wedding food they've ever had, that the food felt as if it was customized to them, and that the quality of food and service felt as if they had been ordering at a high class restaurant! I've even had at least one aunt ask multiple times who did the food, because she wanted to remember for future events. Even after we made our grand exit, Jeff and his staff assisted my family in the teardown. He was true to his word that he does not leave until everything is cleaned up and the venue was how he found it. My dad told me that thanks to Jeff and his staff, everything went smoothly and fast. Although he may cost a little more than your average wedding caterer, Jeff works with you to fit your budget and does so without pressuring you into paying more than you're comfortable with. Payment was easy, and even with a small card problem, he was very professional in alerting me to it. Overall, Jeff was amazing to work with! He was a planner, coordinator, and chef rolled into one! It's obvious he takes pride in his events, and goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy. Our last phone call was bittersweet, because it was like saying goodbye to an old friend. After this experience, I have a hard time thinking about using any other caterer because of how spoiled I was by Jeff. Jeff will definitely be at the top of my list for any future special events I may have, and I have a feeling family members will be wanting to hold events with him as well. Hire Jeff! I was blown away by our entire "Silent Chef" experience.  His dedication, expertise and culinary talents were so appreciated by our guests and he got some rave reviews from a usually critical crowd.  He was wonderful to work with from the moment we connected by phone.  He asked to tour the venue beforehand so he could get a sense of how things would work on the day of the event. The best decision I've made in a long time was to hire Jeff to cater my mom's 75th birthday party. Let's start with the food. Weeks before the party, Jeff came over to my house, and he developed a menu that I knew my guests would love. He had great ideas for mixing and matching foods, where to place the buffet and how to arrange for comfortable seating for all. All the while, he was mindful of my budget and even came in under budget for me. On to the night of the party: Jeff and his server extraordinaire Shannon were right on time. They helped me set up the bar, arranged everything on the buffet, helped me move my dogs' kiddie pool-sized water bowl and repaired the cake I managed to smush on the way home from the bakery. A wonderful wedding supplemented by great food from Jeff the Silent Chef! The wedding was a very intimate experience and warmed up the heart, while the food warmed up my stomach. The appetizers or hors d'oeuvre was filled with delicious items such as Tuna Sashimi with Cilantro Corn Salad, Smoked Salmon Mousse with Caviar, Crab Cakes, and Beef Satay with Plum Sauce. Each item has its unique flavors, but my favorite has to be the smoked salmon mousse. The balance between the smoked salmon and the cucumber was just awesome. The soup was a Wild Mushroom Cream Soup. One of the best mushroom soup I've tasted. My wife laughed at me as I finished the piping hot soup when others are only 1/3 way done with theirs. Others at my table even tried to ask for seconds! The entree has three parts: Apple Stuff Chicken, Rolled Sole with Lobster Crab Cake Stuffing, and Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes. When my friend told me that the entree would be surf and turf months before the wedding, I was expecting the usual steak and lobster, but this is way better. The portion of each item was perfect. The Mashed Potatoes were as any great mashed potatoes would taste like, creamy and tasty without any clumps. My favorite is the chicken. Many catered chicken or even restaurant chicken would be dried or without flavor, not this one. This chicken is filled with flavor and surprises. The cream sauce inside the chicken was spectacular. (Note: I didn't mention the surf or seafood side of the entree because I gave it to my wife, who is a pescatarian. She did say that it was delicious.) Now the Trio of Desserts: Creme Brulee, Cheese Cake, and Dark Chocolate Pyramid. YUM. I usually don't eat desserts, but when I had one spoonful of my wife's Creme Brulee I had to get one of each for myself. The Cheese Cake and the Chocolate Pyramid has the perfect blend of flavor and sweetness. If they open up a dessert shop, I think my wife would definitely visit every week. We have used Jeff on two different occasions and could not be any happier with both Jeff and his amazing staff. He is a pleasure to work with, very organized, professional and most important, his food is amazing! He developed different menus for our two events and they were both delicious, unique and fresh.
