Lavender Matcha Latte
Julia K.

Two Hands is a great place for brunch. The smoked salmon, fennel & poached egg on sourdough was fantastic and beautifully presented, and the addition of lavender to the matcha latte adds a delicious twist to an already great staple. The hummus with the kale salad was another standout. Reservations are a must - the place was packed until afternoon on a Sunday, which also leads to it being rather loud, but the friendly service makes up for that.

I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. We ordered the smoked salmon toast, lemon poppyseed waffle and salmon quinoa bowl. I really enjoyed my salmon toast. The herb cream cheese was the perfect savory to be added with the lox and pickled zucchini (which is different). The lemon poppyseed waffle was also super special with the mascarpone cream and strawberries. I could have ordered another one since we split it! My friend loved her salmon bowl and thought it was quite tasty. I'd absolutely be back and would want to try other items on the menu! We love Australian brunch.

Amazing place! I have visited Two hands every time in in NYC, no matter the occasion of travel, work of leisure. Their iced coffee is so good and their brekky even better! I love their avocado toasts, so delicious. Staff is always friendly, though at times the wait is long as this place popular we don't mind the wait since we like it. Sometimes it can get crowded but overall its always a nice experience.

Easy, fresh, delicious brunch. Service was quick and super friendly so it was a really nice time. This avocado toast HIT THE SPOT with the fresh avo, some acidity and these yummy peppers.

Came around 9:30a on Saturday, it's pretty empty. You definitely don't need a reservation if you come that early. Yummy healthy food, love the crunchy quinoa, flavorful mushrooms, and the added kimchi/chili oil. Minus 1 star since the drip coffee came in such a small size! Each refill also costs $1. The table base can use a little cleaning, they're sticky and my shoes kept getting stuck to it.

Chai. Good. Overpriced

Very good casual food. Also reasonably priced. We had a fancy chai (this is the only over-priced item), the chicken bowl (good portion, filling, flavorful, seemed healthy), and some breakfast dish that its name I ccan't emember (but was good) :) They did charge us for a piece of bread requested for the breakfast item. That was annoying. Oh well.

Breakfast Burrito

Solid! Nothing spectacular but definitely would return for consistent, enjoyable, and healthy options. Feels like exactly what you'd expect from an Australian brunch spot in NYC, both in food and in vibes. I always get a breakfast burrito and a flat white at Aussie brunch and I'd order this combo again next time.

Every now and then I stumble on a brunch place that I know will become a staple. Two hands is exactly that sort of place. I can't believe I didn't stop by earlier even though it has been on my list to try. This location is small. There is some seating inside, plus there is a covered eating area outside plus some seats on the sidewalk. I happened to come by relatively early so we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the recommendations were on-point. Here is what we ordered: - coffee with brown sugar cinnamon syrup. It was delicious 5/5 - breakfast burrito- this was really good and the dipping sauce on the side is excellent 5/5 - seasonal scramble- it was sooooo good!! It has fresh peas and feta and lemon 5/5 - banana walnut bread- it was so good, especially with the espresso mascarpone on top 5/5 - lemon poppyseed waffle- as someone who is normally not a fan of lemon desserts or poppyseed, I am surprised I liked this so much 5/5 I don't recall giving a 5/5 to every food I had- so this place definitely stands out.

i usually force myself to drink matcha because of the benefits, but I genuinely enjoyed this one. Amyar provided great service and helped with my selection. The open kitchen was a great experience too- I am satisfied ‍

Was supposed to go with a friend on a Sunday morning but she had to cancel last minute so I went by myself instead. They were super accommodating about the reservation, and I noticed a couple of other people eating alone as well! The mood was very lively. It was a little cramped but not too bad. Food was good - very standard burrito and banana bread. Didn't feel like the banana bread was super life changing but good nonetheless. Would come back to try the drinks next time

Chicken Salad Sandwich
Oliver L.

Stumbled into this place and what a stumble it was! I was pleasantly surprised with everything we ordered. I got the chicken salad sandwich. That was absolutely joyful. My wife got the chicken salad bowl. She was pleasantly happy the main event and absolute shocker to this meal was a delicious slice of their banana bread topped with an espresso mascarpone it was a taste treat like no other and definitely a staple that you must get, if you get to stumble into this place.

Smashed Avo Toast
Andrea S.

I liked the avocado toast, but it was kind of annoying to be seated next to the restroom especially because the seat is basically in front of the restroom. The lavender vanilla latte was good though.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

The pinwheel shape of the lasagna gives each bite that satisfying crispy edge. The fresh chrysanthemum leaves are topped with a mountain of parm, and the bright dressing just ties the whole dish together. The buffalo milk caramelle is a playful and memorable dish. Each candy-shaped pasta is coated with a sweet brown butter sauce and candied kumquats. I watched several videos on YouTube of their kitchen operations, and it is so impressive how they create each unique pattern on the pasta by hand. They were unfortunately sold out of the lobster by 7 pm, so we didn't get to try it. I would recommend booking an earlier dinner time to ensure that you get to order it if the lobster is a must. Other dishes were still phenomenal, including the Japanese sweet potatoes and the steak al limone, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Their take on a tiramisu was a delightful end to our meal. It had just the right amount of sweetness, and the crunchy wafer layers added a nice crispy texture. Reservations definitely require some planning since they open up seven days in advance. My husband and I set an alarm to log onto OpenTable. As soon as the clock struck 9 am EST, we clicked the slot we wanted. If you're quick, your slot will be held for about 10 minutes on OpenTable while you complete booking. When we refreshed the page, the reservations were gone within a matter of seconds/minutes. I think they do accept walk-ins, but expect to line up early or wait quite a while. The restaurant space is warmly lit by candlelight at dinner, creating an intimate, cozy ambiance. Perfect for a date night or a special occasion. Service was stellar. As an avid cookbook collector, I was excited that I could purchase their cookbook, signed by chef Angie and chef Scott, at the restaurant. Best souvenir on this trip! I am excited to try recreating their recipes at home. I will definitely make it a priority to return to Don Angie and to check out their sister restaurant, San Sabino, the next time we are in Manhattan.
