If you live in the Clarence/East Amherst/Williamsville area and you need work done in your home and Brian at Two Ells isn't the first person you contact, you are doing it wrong. This dude does it right, does it well, and does it for reasonable prices. He works clean and is honest and trustworthy. If you hire him once it's pretty much a guarantee you will hire him again because he is really good at what he does. My 1st floor bathroom was devastatingly brown. Brown tile floor, brown wood vanity. Why would anyone choose to make a bathroom the color of poop I cannot reconcile to myself. I have been annoying my husband for two years since we moved in to the house with my rants about it. This year I convinced him to let me spend some of our tax return on changing that. Thanks to my raging addiction to HGTV I knew exactly what I wanted to do in there and contacted Brian about my vision in mind. He is the most laid back dude, super chill and easy to work with. Brian does beautiful tile work, he made some very helpful suggestions about the tile and how to lay it so it would look the nicest. Aside from the tile work, he also changed out the shower head, replaced the vanity sink and installed faucets and a new backsplash, replaced the mirror, light fixture and toilet. Oh! And he hung up some shelves and changed the light above the shower. He did an amazing job. My husband was very happy with the changes that were made, his only negative was "This is so nice now the rest of the house looks like crap". Ha! Back in the Spring when my family needed to hire someone to renovate our crumbling bathroom, I turned to Yelp to ask who knew a good contractor for this kind of work. Kelly B recommended Brian at Two Ells. I called him that day, left a message. He returned the message that day and we set up a time for an estimate. I love prompt responsiveness, and right off the bat, I had a good feeling about Brian. My parents haven't had any major work done in their 1980-built house since they moved in, circa 1984. Partly because they didn't want to spend the money and partly because it can be difficult finding an honest, affordable contractor, which has to do with the first reason really. Two of the several things I'm super grateful for regarding the way Brian works are his honesty and his ability to see projects in a cost-effective way. He is also extremely patient. My Mom had some health issues arise during our plans and Brian was so patient with us and having to push the date back (& our slacking on picking out materials, mostly because my mom is a perfectionist procrastinator). While we were waiting on the bathroom finalization, Brian painted our upstairs hallway and our family room and did a great job. He also replaced all of the gross fluorescent tube lighting in our kitchen and powder room with recessed lighting. I swear if you can only change one thing in a house built in the 70's-80's, the upgrade in lighting will make a WORLD of difference. My parents home only has one shower so it was VITAL that the tub and shower tile work was done relatively quickly. Brian and Bryce had the tub, tiles, and fixtures installed and ready to be used in 3.5 days. We were blown away with how quickly they worked and how beautiful the tile work turned out. The remainder of the bathroom work (new floor, new toilet, new lighting, painting, new doors, new vanity and counter top) took about 7-8 work days, at the most. We had a delay in getting the vanity and counter top from the materials supplier, but Brian checked in every couple of days to let us know what was going on. The project altogether probably took about 10 days. To remodel a full bathroom. Yay! I highly recommend Two Ells. Their pricing for our projects was SUPER reasonable and Brian is a really good, honest guy. He had great communication with us throughout our projects. We had estimates from a couple of other contractors initially but we got the best feeling from Brian and knew he was the man for our job! We look forward to working more with him in the future! I was referred to Brian of Two Ells Home Improvements from my sister, who worked with his wife at Hospice. I wanted to redo my very small bathroom and push into an unused closet to make it larger. I had never done any large renovation in my house, and I have to say I was scared to, as I am a single girl with no one to watch my back and make sure I am not being taken advantage. From the start, I felt comfortable having Brian here. He was nothing but professional, courteous, on time, patient and understanding. It took me a long time to pick out all of my supplies for this, and he did not pressure me to rush at all. He even referred me to a local bath supplies store and salesman there that was also a pleasure to work with. With this being my only full bath, he made sure to get the bath up and running for me to use, even if all of the bathroom was not done yet. Brian was detail oriented, and made sure to talk to me first before making any design decisions. I wanted to make my own vanity, and he helped my vision become a reality! I made a dresser into a vanity, and he helped me with the plumbing and attaching of the counter top of it. He was even so detail oriented to notice a pull out drawer in my kitchen wasn't aligned right, and surprised me by fixing it as well, without asking him! It's the little things like that, that made me realize I had a great person to work with in my home. We have utilized Two Ells for a variety of big and small jobs and have never been disappointed! We first hired Brian at Two Ells as the general contractor for a complete kitchen remodel. Brian met with us and and our cabinet maker prior to starting the remodel to collaborate and work out all the details so we could have the kitchen we'd dreamed of. Our old farm house provided plenty of challenges during the process. We were really impressed at the creative solutions Brian devised to address them. He did everything he could to get the main elements of the kitchen up and running quickly to minimize our down time. He was absolutely committed to making us happy. Brian and his crew showed up on time every day and cleaned up at the end of each day. Definitely the best home improvement experience we have had.
