After my Saturday experience, I have to take away one star. At 6:45pm I phoned for a take-out order to get only a busy signal. I was right around the corner, so I figured I'd just go there and place my order inside. I was told they are too busy and have all the orders they could handle from now until they closed at 9:00pm. No "I'm really sorry" or "Please try us again." I understand being busy, but I felt like I was not welcome here. If your kitchen gets swamped at 6:45 and you can't take any more orders for the next 2 hours and 15 minutes? You may want to consider getting a 3rd cousin to come here and help out. So I ended up going to Fortunato's on Starkey. They were also slammed, but their kitchen is a well-oiled machine and my pizza was ready in 30 minutes, as always. read more

I guess they had ownership turnover last year. We waited WAYYY too long for our food in this tiny restaurant. This food is absolutely terrible. I got the Chicken Marsala and the chicken looked boiled. Like with the pasta. And then chopped uncooked mushrooms on top. Someone got lasagna and most of it was still cold. Horrible. Hidden gem! I highly recommend this place for true authentic delicious Italian food. We ordered a pizza with 1/2 cheese and 1/2 meat lovers. We also got the chicken piccata which was delicious! Not much of a wine selection but that's ok. The food is so delicious and so worth the wait. It's a very small place. There is quite a bit of a wait so be prepared ...this is not fast food. We've been there twice and it was fantastic! The lunch buffet was great. Tonight we got a calzone and small pizza. Wonderful. I've only had crust like that in Italy. I don't usually care for calzones because they're too ' bread-y'. This was light but stayed firm. All the ingredients were fresh. And the owner is a class act. If you are lucky enough to get it, the food is GREAT.... but, unless you arrive at 4:00 when they open, don't expect to be seated. We had the good fortune of ordering pizza for take out ONCE in March 2022. Since then we have tried three times to eat in the restaurant or order carry out with no success. The first time we called and received a constant busy signal. Someone posted online they were IN the restaurant and the phone was left off the hook. Our second in-person visit was to take family there, and were told there would not be a table ready for an hour. It's a VERY small place, but they didn't seem to mind turning away customers. Our final attempt was at 7:00 last night . We saw there were only two tables occupied, and both looked like the check had already been paid. We waited patiently at the door for 5+minutes before anyone who worked there ever saw/greeted us. A man from the kitchen poked his head out to ask if we were there to pick up carry out. I explained no, we wanted a table to eat in the restaurant, and his response was that they closed in 15 minutes (they advertise they're open until 8:00 pm), but we could seat ourselves if we liked. We chose a booth, but after a few more minutes were still never greeted with menus or anything. We decided to leave and on the way out, a woman came out of the kitchen and asked if we wanted to order.... at the counter.. on the way out the door. I said, no, and the man from the kitchen said they were closing in 15 minutes. She tried to explain that just meant we needed to get our order IN by that time. For a business that has wonderful food, that is clearly in demand, they need to work on their customer service skills. Making a customer feel like they are a bother or an inconvenience by arriving an HOUR before the advertised closing time (when they are only open 4 hours a day!) is not how you build clientele. I get the vibe the man in the kitchen is the cook and owner, who cares about his food and HIS time, but clearly not about his customers or growing his business. He may not even care about a bad review, so I post it as a cautionary tale for those who are interested. read more

This place just opened a few weeks ago and it is about time we had an exceptional Italian restaurant in out area. They have a decent menu and the pizza is out of this world. This time we had the homemade lasagna, and it tasted homemade. Large portion with bread. Wished they would have offered a salad with it though. It was more than I could eat in one sitting. So I like to give praise where it is due, but also bring to light places that seem to not go through the effort. It used to be amazing before it was sold. We have been going there for about seven years or so. It was an Italian family owned joint before and like I said, it WAS amazing. We went there a couple of days ago and it no longer amazing. Much smaller portions for one thing. The marinara has changed and it not even close. The owner raves about his own food, but the Lasagna was barley ok and a tiny portion. The meatballs in the Spaghetti and meatballs were tasty, but much smaller and dry and also a much smaller portion. The garlic knots were tiny and mot much flavor also. The dress code is as if there is none for the employees and owner. The server was good though is all it really had going for it. It tasted as though most everything was microwaved also. What a shame. We now no longer have a true Italian restaurant less than a mile from us. We wont be eating there again. read more

What a fantastic find! We tried: the chicken Marsala, baked ziti, garlic knots, meatballs, eggplant parm, homemade tiramisu and cheesecake. All the food is made to order and I quote (from my mother in law) "best chicken Marsala I've had in 68 years!" Inside is super cozy, with Italian decor. They have italian music playing that wasn't too loud, which is great because we were able to hear each other from across the booth. Came here and picked up a carry out order. Everyone was very friendly and it seemed like a nice family-owned restaurant. I ordered garlic knots and a pepperoni pizza. Garlic knots were ok but didn't have too much flavor. And they were loaded with butter, like sitting in a pool of butter. Decent but not spectacular. The pizza was extremely bland and they skimped a little on the pepperoni. It may have been one of the most flavorless pizzas I've ever had. Almost as if somebody took a branding iron to my tongue and burnt off my taste buds. It wasn't disgusting, just boring. Sauce had absolutely no kick. I do, however, want to go back and try the lasagna, but that was the first and last time I'll ever order the pizza. I'll let you know how the lasagna is! read more

This is the best Italian food we have found in the area. I haven't tried the pizza, but the pasta dishes are out of this world. Huge portions, piping hot, fresh out of the oven! The antipasto salad is a must every time we go, and it's bit enough for the table to share. The red/tomato sauce on the pasta dishes is so delicious and flavorful. The bread is freshly made - crusty on the outside and soft on the inside like it should be, and is served with a dish of oil for dipping. The aroma of garlic hits you in the face (in a good way) as soon as you walk in the door. Claudia is amazing. She treats you like family! It's a small place, so if you have more than 4 in your party, expect a wait for a table, especially on the weekend. But it is SO worth the wait. read more

We ordered delivery, had no problem with the wait time or our delivery server, he was very polite. Opening our food, our stromboli and boneless wings were so black, they were burnt to a crisp. The canoli so yummy. We ate the desserts so fast I didn't take a pic of them. I eat like a pig every time we go. Just found the place 1 month ago been there 5 times. Eat there if you can hot and fresh oh I'd go right now if I could. Service is so friendly and nice. Sit relax enjoy. I honostly can say this place is great I really enjoy the food. The cheesy garlic bread did not look like the picture when I got it, it was undercooked. The pizza is ok. I think the crust is not scratch in house, it always looks like a pre-made shell. Maybe this place is better for dine in than carry out because I always carry out and though I live 3 min away, it still seems that things cooled down too fast. Either way, westshore and mamas is probably a better bet for me as far as quality goes. read more

NY style pizza . Garlic knots to die for. Someone criticized the garlic butter sauce which is beyond me, because that's what gives those hot, crispy nuggets their awesome flavor. There is no denying the quality of the food is excellent. However, their business practices have been declining for years. Many times I have called and they have said their delivery driver didn't show up so they can't deliver. Today was the final straw. First, once again the delivery driver didn't show up. Ok, inconvenient but I can deal with it. The part that made me decide to not go back is that the price I was given didn't sound right. I asked for a breakdown and the items I ordered were all above the prices on their website. When I told them, they refused to honor the advertised prices on their website. They offered excuses such as they don't maintain their website. Well, if you don't update your own website and refuse to honor the prices you advertise then you don't deserve my business. It's sad, but this is why this business is declining so much even with good food. read more

Very simply put, this is a solid spot for pie. It's not insane , but it's really solid. The dough has a nice light flakiness to it, and they are consistent with the food they put out. The wings are clearly baked , and really fall off the bone because of that. The hot and mild are both great. The wings her really do kill it as far as how they are prepared. It's really all about what you are looking for, and knowing what to order and where to order it from. Here I would say get a large pep and hot wings. It's not a gourmet Italian spot, it's just a super solid family establishment that has the nicest people and the same food consistently day in and day out.
