Sunday morning I found myself without heat. I called Jackson & Sons Monday morning and they sent a…read moretechnician out that same day to evaluate my problem. The repair would have been about $700 for a system that's 15 years old so I decided to replace the system. A Comfort Consultant came out and reviewed units and payment plans with me and told me that the Install guys would be out today, Tuesday. The coldest day we've had since last March. The guys arrived on time, explained what they were going to do and went to work. They finished the exterior install, installed the thermostat and tested the unit. They showed me how to work the new thermostat and answered all of my questions with ease. This is a great company! I might have stumbled on them back in 2001 when I had problems with my old unit, but there is no way I'd take my heating/air business anywhere else.

After checking indoors, he went out to look things over. He came back and explained some things had had found out if the ordinary with the unit. We talked and he went to work. After completing his duties, he came back in. We talked and he assured me that things were working properly . We settled things up, shook hands and he departed. He's a super worker and a very good communicator. He's very likable and a very good asset to have in your company.

The first year, nothing was done since the furnace began to work when the temperature increased. The 2nd year, they said the thermostat was bad and replaced it, charging us for the labor to replace it. I paid this invoice believing the problem was solved. The 3rd year, the technician said that the exhaust ductwork was sloped toward the furnace causing the condensation to back up and shut down the furnace. I was invoiced a significant amount but I declined to pay since it was an installation mistake that should have been corrected earlier. After 4 years of trying to correct the problem, they are now refusing to correct the (continuing) problem and we were again without heat in the morning. I did an internet search to see if anybody else had this problem and found it was a common problem with gas furnaces installed in an attic. All that was required was to insulate the condensate drain outside. I purchased a $4 piece of insulation and installed it myself. We have had no problem since. Seems like a "professional" HVAC company should have known this type of problem and not corrected it earlier. It's sad that a company does not take pride in providing a professional quality service.
