Saw the post from the Orlando Asian Foodie Facebook and find out this location serves Ube and Pandan ice cream. I was very happy that I tried. The Ube ice cream was very nice and flavorful, just like what I had back in Asia. My friends also ordered the Cookie Monster and Crispy Treats sundae. They said both of them were delicious. The brownie sundae we had was delicious but the price was $6+ which seemed a little high for the small bowl it was in and it was more whipped cream than ice cream. The lady serving was very nice! They could use some updating and have the menu and the toppings on the same side. Twistee Treat is a great destination for soft serve ice cream. They are pretty easy to find, just look for the building shaped like a giant ice cream cone. Twistee Treat is a pleasant nod to the past in a world where we are seeing more and more upscale versions of ice cream shops. This is definitely an old school pipe ice cream shop, everything from the architecture to the soft serve ice cream is a nod to the past and that is a big chunk of the charm of Twistee Treat. The service here is friendly and the ice cream brings me back to those innocent summers growing up in New Jersey for a visit to the ice cream shop was pretty special and magical. Now that I no longer live in New Jersey, but rather Florida, where summer is a year-round thing, a trip to the ice cream shop it's pretty much available anytime I feel like it. First Friday in Clermont and we drove right in, parked and walked right to the windowsill without any others there and it took 5 minutes to get 3 small icecream cups and 2 small twist cones. When we arrived in line at the drive thru until we received our order of 2 banana splits was 35 minutes. At the window 3 teenage kids working and they waited until we were at the window to actually start the 2 banana splits. They were all going back and forth from the back of the store and didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to help The customers. Asked the male teenager how long should it take to get ice cream and asked to speak to manager and he said she doesn't work on site and we can't help it that it takes so long. The manager would be there this Thursday and could not give out her number as she has asked that they don't give out her information and there is no way to reach a manager. I stopped by Twistee Treat with my grandson after a afternoon of running errands. I ordered my favorite.....chocolate and vanilla swirl cone with sprinkles and my grandson wanted a kids strawberry and chocolate sundae with whipped cream and a cherry. Sadly they're either understaffed or just really slow. Four cars on drive thru and it took nearly thirty minutes to get two cones. We have really liked other twistee treats in the past, and we tried this location a couple of times. The service is terrible and so slow. When going through the drive through, they don't even start making your order until you get to the window and pay. Which makes the whole process so much longer and with multiple cars in front of you, a quick stop for ice cream turns into an hour trip! I can't recommend this place at all. read more

This twistee treat is the worst one I have ever been too, moved here a year ago, and I've given this place multiple tries but the ladies working here are god awful at simply making ice cream cones. With 3 cars infront of me it took over 25 minutes to get 2 milkshakes. I see why they work here. Do better twistee treat. read more

They have soft serve ice cream, shakes, floats, waffle cones, chocolate dipped waffle cones, yum, yum and yum. We have been missing out on this gem. I love the nostalgic feeling you get from the novelty building structure. Outdoor seating with a few tables. Had no idea that it also has a drive thru window, which is convenient. We had the cookies n cream soft serve and the coffee soft serve. We both enjoyed it, cold, tasty, generous servings! Price for the large was around $3-4 (sorry, can't remember the exact price). The Clermont Twistee Treat is - by far - the worst that we've ever visited. The kid's cup is extremely small, about 4 bites of ice cream. Unlike any of the 4 other TT's we've visited in Central FL. If you asked for a side of ketchup at a restaurant and they brought it in a small 2 oz styrofoam cup - you just received the same size & amount that we were given. We also ordered small chocolate & vanilla cones and the actual ice cream consistency was different between the two. Really strange to have creamy vanilla paired with an icy chocolate which was slightly thicker. I wish we had just skipped this and gone to Culver's instead. Lesson learned! read more

This is such a neat place to stop and get a cone, a shake, a banana boat or any thing made with ice cream/frozen yogurt. :) There are a variety of flavors and it's a great treat for those hot Florida days and evenings. I'd recommend asking for an Ice Cream Club stamp card --for every 8 ice cream items purchased you get a free medium cone or cup. Also if you check your circulars, there is usually a buy 1 get 1 free cone coupon. They have small outside seating or you can go through the drive thru. Some days the lines are pretty long but it's neat to order your ice cream from a building in the shape an ice cream cone. I mean seriously, how often do you see that anymore? I've read previous reviews stating that they've seen the the cashiers be rude to the customers but I've never seen it or experienced it. read more

I realize there are numerous negative reviews, but as for my personal experience, I've never been displeased with this Twistee Treat. Granted, the location is inconvenient, and the ice cream seems to melt too quickly, but I've always had great desserts there. Plus, the staff is always comprised of really cute and sweet girls, and they have a rewards card system where you earn a free ice cream cone after eight visits. There are always long lines at both the walk-up counter and the drive-thru, which can mean that either it's very popular or the staff is overwhelmed...it's probably both. We tried to use our reward number but they informed us they are independently owned. They have their own system. It's ice cream.... I think that twisty treats corporation should hold the independent owners to a higher standard for they had a third of the menu as others, ice cream wasn't as good and portion (size) were small.
