Lets just say this..if you have an idea for a tattoo and discuss that idea with one of the artists, you would be floored when you see the ideas/creativity come to life! I wanted to do an add on for my left arm, already knew what I wanted with a favorite quote. I sent Betty an email with my current tattoo and what I wanted (anchor/saying) and said how would it look under the butterfly/combo and looking forward to the session. Oh my gosh, Betty's creativity and artistry was unbelievable! A very skilled, artistic, classy and down to earth gal! It was a great experience and I am looking forward to getting another tattoo and seeing the ideas placed on paper come to life :) The atmosphere in the shop was very welcoming and I loved the artwork on the walls. Very friendly staff and good vibes all around! While I was getting my tattoo done, I had the opportunity to watch the other artists at work. Nando's artwork of St. Michael slaying satan looked like a Renoir on the human canvas! The details were utterly amazing. Another down to earth artist, Camilo was on hand to observe and throw in ideas with my tattoo. You can see that everyone works as a team, sharing ideas and helping one another out. I have many tattoos by a variety of artists. But Betty is the ONLY Artist I am willing to drive far for. I posted on here paw print tattoos I had done somewhere else and was not willing to return there, even for a free touch up. Betty fixed it and it looks fantastic. She also did a half sleeve on my right arm of flowers. She came up with an idea to add forest spirits to the sleeve from the movie Princess Mononoke at the last minute because I saw the same tattooed on her arm and loved them. She also tattooed the chest burster from the movie Alien on my forearm with the face of Violator from the movie Spawn. All the tattoos by her I've sat at her station and say "I want something like this. Design it however you want and make it your own. Whatever you think will look amazing!" I have one arm sleeve by her, one forearm tattoo black shading, and one tattoo she fixed for me. Never have I been more impressed with such talent. Something I love about the environment there is EVERYONE has made their station their own. You can tell a little about all of them by the beautiful drawings and pictures on their walls. So much creativity and such a welcoming environment. I love Betty's creativity and imagination. I will be returning there in three weeks to have more work done. Pricing is EXCELLENT. Between me and my sister we've gotten something like 10 different piercings done by the wonderful and wonderfully talented Aly, and we definitely wouldn't go anywhere else! The actual shop is clean and inviting, and everyone is laid-back and chill. Aly herself is very clean and neat, as is her work space. She is very knowledgeable and skilled, all of my piercings have been perfectly executed and have healed nicely'; I had to take my lip ring out but she did the piercing so well my scar is almost invisible. She (or her apprentice/protege Topher) are both really nice and more than willing to answer any and all questions you might have and do not get frustrated when you have a billion of them :) The prices for the piercing services are totally reasonable and include the jewelry and an aftercare pamphlet, and there are CONSTANT specials/sales--my industrial was only $20 during a breast cancer fundraiser (did I mention they totally do stuff for charity?)! I can't speak personally about the tattoo artists (yet) but looking through their portfolios and seeing them in action around the shop I'd say they're awesome too, and once I finish designing my (first) piece I very much plan on going to them to get it done. read more

I visited Twisted Tattoo about two weeks ago. It was early on a Wednesday afternoon. I was a Walk-In. They weren't busy so they were able to tattoo me. The studio is a very nice place: clean, sanitary, comfortable, welcoming. All the people were very pleasant. Vanessa is the artist who tattooed me. She explained everything. I had a good idea of what I wanted and where, and Vanessa helped me decide exactly what I wanted: size, location, look, type font. The tattooing itself went very well. There was no problem with anything. The pain was not bad at all, and it was not lasting pain. When the tattoo was done the pain was over. My tattoo has healed. I didn't have any problem with it. The whole experience that I had with Vanessa and Twisted Tattoo was wonderful. I am really happy with them. I am a 74 year old man. This is my first tattoo. If I ever want another tattoo I certainly will go back to Twisted Tattoo. read more

Let me start by saying Topher is the man. I had a dermal anchor that my body had began pushing out. It was extremely uncomfortable. It wasn't painful. Just really annoying. I knew that it had to be removed so I called Twisted, the place I went to have it done. When I got to the shop happy folk music was playing and everyone was very friendly. I met with Topher, the piercer who was there and told him my situation. He escorted me to the area where they handle the piercings. Everything was very clean and sterile. The tools he used came out of new packaging. It took less than 10 minutes for him to remove the jewel top and 3 seconds to pull out the anchor itself. The best part? The removal was only $10!! Other places charge maybe $100 or they say you have to go to the doctor to have it surgically removed. LIES. Head to Twisted for all your piercing needs. Topher is the man. read more

This place rocks, hands down. I went in today for a nose piercing and was greeted by Kara, a new employee at Twisted but told me she has been piercing for 8 years. This was my first time getting any kind of piercing done besides my ear lobes, and I was a little nervous. She explained everything to me about care for the piercing, her process, and what to do during the piercing. The place is small but clean, and they make sure everything is totally sterile before doing anything. Kara made the overall experience ten times better than I was hoping for. She made it as painless as possible, and did it quick. And the price rocked too: $30 bucks for the piercing and the piece! I couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. If i ever get anything else done, I'm definitely going back to Twisted. read more

I have been going to Twisted Tattoo for about a year and a half now. Off the bat, everyone in the store is totally cool and very professional. The people there are receptive and make you feel welcomed immediately upon coming in. Bottom line: The whole staff is just awesome. Anyways though, I have gotten about ten tattoos from this place so far. All of them from Marty. I cannot say how much I love going to this guy to get my ink done. Good pricing and the work he does is phenomenal. I trust him with anything I throw at him. He works out everything easily, great at making adjustments and really cares about what he does. Marty is a total perfectionist. I appreciate and enjoy every piece I had put on me, to the fullest. So without a doubt, I can say I enjoy this place. read more

I went in with a bunch of ideas that I had for Camilo for a half sleeve and he gave me great suggestions on placement and what he thought would look best. I had a clear idea on how I wanted my tattoo to look and Camilo was very patient and professional and the tattoo completely exceeded my expectations -- I love it. I already can't wait to go back and have him finish off my other half sleeve. Everyone at Twisted Tattoo were friendly and the shop was clean. Kudos to the staff for having Motorhead, Maiden, Anthrax, Slayer, etc. being played while I was there. It was my first time at Twisted Tattoo and won't be my last. I went into Twisted Tattoo about a week ago with my brother, just as a walk-in and got taken care of immediately and we both left with great work. I just wanted something simple and Mike Farrell was my artist. He sketched out some script for me within a few moments and were straight to working on it after that. The tattoo came out great and it only took about 20 minutes. Easiest tattoo of my life. Mike was a great guy, very patient, and we even talked about more ideas for a cover up. My brothers tattoo was done by Brian, i believe his name was, and the rifle came out superb. The detail was awesome. All in all, i'd definitely recommend this place and its staff. read more

I have gotten two tattoos by Brian Clutter, and he is the most amazing tattoo artist. He did an awesome job on both my foot that has a feather on it representing my uncle that past away and he did my mothers eye on my wrist just yesterday. I am so pleased to have found twisted tattoo and such a great tattoo artist. The shop is awesome and everyone is friendly in there, and makes you feel right at home. Brian draws out whatever you want and will make it just how you like it, it is personalized and he is an amazing artist that also attending art schools in indiana. Blair is AMAZING!!! If you're looking to get anything pierced she is your 100% your girl! Super knowledgeable, absolutely clean and careful, and does an amazingly perfect and painless job! She is great at piercings and you can tell she loves what she does! I got my ears pierced after many failed attempts with a piercing gun and entering a nearby gross tattoo places, but this one was this one was the only time my ear stayed pierced and not throbbing in pain. Great professional job. I could not recommend this place and Blair enough. Very happy I found her and this place before my wedding date! read more

I got my tattoo done by Camilo. Plain and simple he did an amazing job. He's definitely a talented guy. Took some sketches I had in mind and made it his own a little bit. Great detail with the shading. The atmosphere in the shop was very good and professional. With so many shops in the Chicago area it's hard to make a decision on who to choose, but I'm glad I chose Twisted Tattoo/Camilo. I have been getting work done at this shop for a few years now and have no complaints. I get tattooed there a few times a year and have gotten all of my recent piercings done there as well. Marty is my main artists, but I have had the privilege of being tattoed by Ben and Carlos as well. They are all beyond amazing at what they do! I've been working with Camilo on my arm piece for almost a year. He has taken my ideas and truly created each piece as individual art and tied them together beautifully. The consultations and sessions we've had have been very productive and I've valued his input on each piece. I treat and view my tattoos as art and he does as well. This place is by far the best studio to get work done.. I have known Nando for awhile now and I respect him as a person and an artist. Everyone at the studio makes you feel welcomed the minute you walk in the door. Ive been going to twisted tattoo since my FIRST tattoo and im on my 9th. They are so down to earth and cool. They give the best advice and recommend great ideas. Its very professional and defiantly CLEAN. They are people you can trust because thats what you need and want when you get a tattoo. I DEFIANTLY RECOMMEND them to go to for a tattoo. Went here on wim to get my tattoo fixed. My original tattoo was dull and did not include any of the red areas. Worked with Emilio Reyes. He was awesome at helping me express what I wanted. So after some consulting he came up with a plan. Was a 2 day session. Very reasonable prices in a comfortable environment. 2 four hour sessions didn't seem as long. Emilio was accommodating and responds very quick to texts. (When not working). Highly recommend him and Twisted. Will be getting more work done from him in the future. read more

This place is very,very good. Very clean, professional, welcoming, and comfortable. I personally go to Camilo, who has done quite a few of my friends, my younger brother and even my mother. He made her feel super comfortable about her first tattoo which was awesome. Very creative, takes your vision and COLLABORATES with you to make some beautiful pieces.
