This is our second time here and I am enjoying this place so close to home on the south side of Atlanta, although it's in DGV. Sherita welcomed us and served us well. Their servers come with recommendations and that makes the selection easier when the menu looks so good. Our food has been fresh hot and tasty! The food and wings were great!!! The flavor combo and cook was perfect. Nice vibe and area but the service was not great. For management 1. My plate was served wet. Great for pizza right? I can use a napkin to dry it but it's an avoidable complaint. 2. I ordered 6 wings which is the appetizer and got 5. I told the staff and they said it's supposed to be 5. I showed them the menu and it says 6. I'm not going to argue about a wing so I told them they may want to fix the menu and let it go. Plot twist - My receipt said I was charged for 6 wings. 3. I needed a refill but staff weren't paying attention so I raw dogged my medication with the spirit of ice. Three staff were sitting together by the window. Never got the refill. I will be back but I will take it to go 120%. No hard feelings to the staff. It's a team effort and as a group the cook minus the wing counting is holding up the team. I really wanted this to be a good place. We are new to the area and wanted something that was closer to our home that could be a place we could go often. This isn't it. First when we walked in the door you think that it's going to be nice/upscale pizza place. Then you hear from a server that is about to end her shift that she "don't want no mo tables she's ready to go!" We tried to joke with the server and the hostess but just wasn't a friendly vibe to kick it off. But no biggie my wife and I were sat at a two top closest to the door. We would've preferred to sit further back since there were many open tables further back that wouldn't have caused us to deal with the cold draft every time someone came in the door. We got a fairly inexperienced server which is understandable , everybody starts somewhere. But she has inattentive, non engaging, and at times didn't know basic things about the menu. We arrived around 7:30 and things we wanted were already "sold out" for the day. I ordered the house Peach Old Fashion and she didn't know what liquor came in it and told me to pick which one I wanted. I did but to my displeasure we had a $4 up charge on our bill for a terribly mixed "old fashion". I've had many and by far this is the worse. But again hey we are here for the food so we ordered a pizza because what else would we order. We got the meat lovers and a side of Brussel sprout. The pizza came out and it looked like a pizza you could buy at a local grocery store and they popped it into the microwave. The sprouts came out and they just drizzled some balsamic over the top of it but also seemed to be just popped into the microwave. This was my second visit to Twisted Pye. We came during happy hour and it wasn't busy. There was a dj playing and they had $5 specials. Our server was not attentive at all. We had to keep waving her down to get service. We ordered the 6 wing and fry special, the oxtail grilled cheese with truffle fries, and pepperoni pizza. TP is always bitter sweet. It's convenient, a neighborhood spot we need on this side of town. They have switched things up several times, but since I last went, it's more events, different mgmt even hookah which I thought hey, why not. I always want to give them a chance. I dined in at Twisted Pye on a Friday right before 6 PM. The restaurant is in the neighborhood with Tributary homes, and you want to make sure you choose free parking in the "retail" labeled spots that are adjacent to the restaurant and not "resident" labeled spots. While walking up, I noticed the patio with seating and tables and additional outdoor seating by the entrance, and thought that it may be nice to enjoy during those warm spring and fall days. Once inside, I went to the bar and Melanie was my server/bartender and she was great. It was Happy Hour & they had $5 lemon drops listed on their online menu, so I wanted to try one. Melanie let me know that they the lemon drops and hennessy margaritas were that price all day as a recent update! They were perfect as far as taste and strength. I ordered a few The happy hour menu had a few other $5 cocktails between 6 and 8 pm daily too. I had initially made a reservation for 2, but canceled it because I enjoyed the bar vibe & my husband arrived a bit after I did. The music included a nice blend of r&b hits from the 90s and 2000s. There were sports playing on the tvs. I ended up chatting with other people while at the bar and learned that the salads are pretty good & so are the pizza! One guest had the lemon pepper wings and she advised that they were a miss :( . Another regular let me know that the pizza and burgers were good, so I decided to try those. On their website it's list that they have live music on Fridays and Happy Hour until a certain time Well when we arrived there was no band and no happy hour. We asked about both and the waitress said the band "wasn't coming tonight" and that it was no longer happy hour even though the website say otherwise. We went there because it had vegan options and seemed like a great place within an apartment community. Wrong! The short girl who finally greeted us acted like she was dumb and mute as she pointed to various places we could sit. When she took our order, we inquired about a vegan option, which she went to ask about herself. She came back and said, "We are out of every plant-based item on the menu". Wanted a cool place to chill, but instead didn't get any kind of welcoming service. First, I walked through the entrance seeing a sign that read "Wait to be Seated". Since this was my first time there, I wanted to know what my options were. 2 bartenders were behind the bar. They both see me but say nothing. I'm looking around trying to decide where I might want to sit. I stood there for about 2-3 mins, but felt longer, no greeting from anyone. No one showed up at the host entrance desk. The venture to this new spot in Douglasville was a mixed bag of experiences. First the wait time was shorter that stated, nice. The ambiance from the dining area, staff, and the live jazz was awesome. Now the food... appetizers we ordered were wings, buffalo style-mild sauce. They were a disaster!!!! Have were freshly cooked and the other half were overcooked and dry. Probably been sitting under a heat lamp. Someone added hot sauce to the dry ones to cover it. Sad! But the pizza, well that truly saved the food for the evening. We ordered the 10" Shawty which came out shortly after the wings and it was hot, fresh an awesome! So, I've been to Twisted Pye about 4 times now and I've enjoyed it each time! The atmosphere and location is great! The staff is wonderful. My first time going Hydia was our server and I've asked for her each time since (she's amazing!). Here's what I've tried and loved: Shawty Pizza: It's soooooo good! And consistently good! Hot Honey Wings: I love wings and eat them regularly from different places. I thoroughly enjoy wings from TP. One of my visits were on a Sunday before 4 PM and they only offer brunch before 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. It was good although interesting to order a lobster omelette and shrimp & grits from a pizza place. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the brunch. read more

I met some friends here for dinner and we had a ball. We all chose different items to share and everyone was happy. The food was served hot and fresh. Our server was so helpful and kind. The space was super cute and the music playing was a whole vibe. You couldn't help singing along to your favorite songs. We did order drinks and they were delicious. They're located in an area where there is an apartment community and a few businesses, so parking was tricky. Since we were there at night all of the businesses were closed. I did keep checking on my car because I don't have time to get booted in Atlanta. Getting to the restaurant was tricky too because the road my GPS had me on were really dark at night. The oxtail pizza was so good and so were the wings. I was very excited to visit this marvelous restaurant owned by Keith Sweat. We arrived around 2:30 pm. Again, ample parking spaces. We were seated right away. I wouldn't arrive after 4 pm as the crowd was coming in groups of 4-6. We ordered our food and it came out in a timely manner hot and fresh. Not a fan of the dark wings that were supposed to be mild, not sure if they added a BBQ sauce to them. Me, my spouse, and daughter recently attempted to dine at Twisted Pye, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Upon arrival, the hostess informed us that she couldn't provide an estimated wait time for seating, which was frustrating and a little confusing. She encouraged us to order takeout instead. To our dismay, the takeout took over 40 minutes to prepare. Adding to the disappointment, their system failed to send a text notification, as promised, to inform us when our food was ready. I was standing outside the restaurant. The lack of communication and efficiency made for a very negative dine in attempt overall. One of the owners and other managers were sitting outside and I kindly shared my frustrations. The owner listened and seemed to care but did nothing to make it right. If he had extended anything to us to come back and earn their trust I'd probably be giving a 4 star. The good customer service is just lacking. I give a 3 star review because of the food. My only gripe was that it was a bit warm inside on the day I visited. Other than that, I highly recommend this spot. The oxtail pizza is absolutely amazing! My food came out quickly which is a big plus. The owners are super friendly and make you feel right at home. There was a saxophone player performing when I was there, and it was such a refreshing experience to enjoy a casual meal without the typical overpowering scent of hookah or blaring trap music. What a compliment to Douglasville. My hubby and I are hooked. They know us by name now. A shame for some but gracious for us. We can't get enough of this place. The good, service and atmosphere are top tier. We order the oxtail pizza and bread sticks every time because we are hooked. I can't say enough about this place but I'm scared it will become too popular. Great for the restaurant but maybe not so much for us lol. We are on our way again today.
