giving 2 stars instead of 1 because they were able to accommodate a walk-in. i came here since my go-to nail salon is in the opposite direction of where i needed to go after the nail salon & i was only looking to remove my nails rather than get a fill/new set. they charged me $25 for removal. they drilled off my toes (it was a very old set so half the nails had outgrown & didn't have polish) + drilled off the remaining builder gel off my nails after a short acetone "soak". i am not sure why they resorted to drilling immediately & initially trying to pry off the gel (as if they were in a rush) with a gel-x tip despite me telling them it was not gel-x. no one was waiting to be served & there was an extra nail tech available if someone else came in. my nails were healthy/thick and they now look & feel extremely thin and have been breaking off throughout the day. yet she kept telling me my nails were too thin... when THEY drilled it too much & now my nails feel/look bumpy! they also cut one of my nails too short and i noticed it had bled once i left the salon. read more

So I arrived at 12:00pm and asked if they would take a walk in. They said if I would wait. I said that's fine. Then around 12:58pm I told the lady that it may seem to late as I needed to be somewhere at 1:25pm. She said she would do it for me quick and I hesitated. As soon as she took my nail she trimmed over it and cut my finger. My finger is bleeding and it won't stop. It had continue to bleed through my bandaid. No apologies and no bandaids were given. I had to tell her what I needed to care for it. This is unacceptable and I will never come here again. My advise to them, don't rush and sacrifice safety over money. read more

$25 mani/pedi (anniversary special). My seat was by their back sink so I could watch carefully how the tools were handled. The pedi spas themselves are actually pretty clean, but I felt like they shortcut the sanitizing process for the tools. The manicurist finish the girl's toes (she was sitting next to me), brought the tools to the sink, rinsed them. He then put them in a jar of the blue sanitizing liquid, rustled them around for about 3 seconds, pulled them out and rinsed again. He then brought them over, put his same gloves on and started on my toes. I had to remind myself that at other places manicurists use their bare hands which can't be changed so him not changing gloves was okay, but I couldn't get past the yellow stains on the gloves (indicating they had been wet and reused too much). The male manicurist took his time and checked that I liked the shape of my nails which I appreciated. He had someone else polish my nails and she did it in such a hurry, they are sloppy with visible thin spots. They were very busy on a Friday afternoon and we were walk ins so we sat with our feet in the water for almost 30 minutes. They thanked us for waiting and were very nice. Really not sure what the negative reviews are about. I have been to this salon numerous times. Jenny has always done my fills, mani and pedi with gel. She is amazing. The male employee always helps her and is always super friendly and nice. Her work is flawless. And I am in and out of the salon in less than an hour! I recommend you make an appointment, she is usually booked solid. The salon is super clean and peaceful as well. Nice massage chairs and they offer numerous services. I was meeting a friend for dinner near Irvine Spectrum and came across this nail salon on Yelp. Alan, one of the owners, picked up the phone and was very friendly and accommodating. The nail salon is average size and fairly clean. They have between 4-5 employees. They were pretty busy during the afternoon hours with a steady stream of customers. They have a decent selection of nail brands and colors. I got a gel mani ($25) and regular pedi ($17) for $42 total. Only minus: it's a little pricer than I expected. FYI, they have a $1 surcharge for using your credit card. read more

I love coming to Twins! I went to the same nail salon for almost 10 years but they're always swamped so I tried out Twins...yay! They're always extremely friendly and respectful. They listen to what I ask for and check in throughout the services to make sure I'm happy. The staff is great except for one girl who I just had a recent experience with who gossiped in Vietnamese to the woman doing my nails which I felt was awkward. The prices are extremely reasonable and I don't really have any complaints. Overall, They do great work for a great price and that's what I feel is most important. read more

It has been several years since I came here last but came last week with my 91 year old mother for mani/pedis. They had a couple of people there but only waited a few minutes before they started. Pedicures were great. No problem. The manager worked on me. A very nice women started on my mother but used clear polish and then left her. She had asked for the same color on toes and fingers. The first problem. Then she had to go to the restroom but though they helped her down from the chair they did not remove the toe separation or help with her shoes so she had to walk on bare floor. The next problem was that I had to wait a bit for them to start my fingers and then when he was on my second hand, filing the nails, he left me for 20 minutes to work on someone who had just walked in with no appointment with a I'll be right back. And this was the manager. No apology, nothing. We were not in a rush but it was so rude. Obviously he did not care at all. We will never return. There are plenty of other places in the area. He also yelled at the employees in vietnamese so I don't know what he was saying but seemed to be blaming them for everything going wrong. A terrible experience read more

I hate to leave a negative comment because they are so nice but save your money. The first time I went Mindy did a great job on my nails. The next couple of times they did a mediocre job. I noticed that if you are seated and they get walk-ins they do whatever it takes to rush you out. I've been to this nail salon many times and it is just okay. They do a decent job, but never good enough for the nail polish to stick more than a week. But it is fairly cheap, the girls are friendly--and if I am being 100% honest--it is in walking distance of my husband's preferred sport clips. But after my last visit, I won't be back. Long story short, this is one of those places that always says they have time for you, but really just puts you in a chair (with cold water) and promptly leaves you there for 30 minutes until someone is free. Normally, that irritates me, but doesn't anger me. Today, they pushed me over the edge. Here's the story, I called and made an appointment; they called me back a few minutes later asking me to come in 30 minutes earlier. I said okay. I get there 5 minutes before the new appointment time. They have a full house, but put me in the chair and promptly forget about me. Now, normally this is just irritating, but now it is really frustrating--why did I come in 30 minutes early to just sit in a chair, with my feet in cold water, and not have anyone work on me? After 15 minutes, i just got up and left. When the owner realized he was losing my business, he shouted at the girls--and suddenly--it was my turn. But I know this place, they will work as quickly as possible and do a terrible job. It isn't worth the $60 (plus $10 in tips) for it. So, I walked out and won't come back. The quality isnt there. The service isn't there. And they don't respect you. read more

I have been a customer of Twin Nails for a couple of years now, and I appreciate both the excellent customer service and the wonderful job they always do on my nails. All of the women who have helped me have been so friendly, and I like the idea of supporting a small business-- Jenny and Alan are the best! After being a customer for so long I thought it was time to finally write a review after a recent experience that exceeded my expectations. I recently had a gel manicure and pedicure, and decided to try sparkles as a top coat for a little change. Unfortunately, due to no fault of my manicurist, I didn't like the way it looked on my nails. I paid and then left the salon, not sure if I should say anything. Ultimately I decided to call back, and spoke to Alan. I let him know that I wasn't happy with the color and that I'd like to come back the next day to have it redone. I told him I would pay for it as it was not a reflection of their work. I came back the next day, spoke with Jenny, and after some discussion we agreed that she would redo the manicure. She offered to let me try the "dip"-- a new technique that I was curious about. She did an immaculate job, took her time, and I was so pleased with the result. But the surprising part was that she refused to let me pay for the service. That proved to me that my business is important to them, and that they take great pride in their work. I will definitely continue being their customer, and will refer them to everyone I know. Customer service seems to be a lost art nowadays but not at Twin Nails. Yay another first ^_- That's what I love about trying new places! The fact that I get to be the first to Yelp about it! No I am not in love with Yelp. **looks away innocently** ^_^ So after lunch today we were looking for a great place to get a Pedicure but for a reasonable price! Sadly I think a lot of places are closed permanently! Which makes sense b/c it's a luxury and should be one of the first things to be cut down on... sigh After Black Friday we saw this place and was thinking about coming here but shopping was WAY MORE important lol. So finally today we were able to stop by and try them only if they are priced well. It's $15 for a pedi and $25 for both... which I find ridiculous so I only did my pedi. They don't have much staff so one started on me first b/c I want to paint them nicely and drive so I need to dry first. At first I thought the lady didn't do a great job cutting but she was very nice and asked if everything was to my liking. What really made them better was that they actually massaged my leg and feet for a while. The whole time I was sitting there, I was afraid that I would get charged extra! Lol That's how much massaging she did, which is nice. She did a good job painting my toes and following my orders. I always do weird combos to make it looks better and it turned out really well. So shiny and pretty! Thank goodness I did my color combo or the color would have been hideous but everything turned out great! I am ready for the holidays! ^_^ read more
