This salon is a hidden gem! I have been coming here regularly for the last year or so and will not go anywhere else. Everyone who works there is amazing and kind, no un-comfortability like some other salons. The gentleman working the front desk is incredibly friendly. Try to make an appointment but I usually walk in and get helped right away. They do your hands and feet at the same time. I've had all sorts of shapes, designs, airbrush, etc. and always leave so happy. I just show them what I want from Pinterest and they do such a good job replicating what I'm looking for. It's not the "fanciest" nail salon in OC but definitely the best service and has the most reasonable prices. Don't overpay somewhere else to sit in a fancier chair you don't use. What I ordered vs what I got. (I asked for them shorter for work) So I know I requested shorter & they don't look bad. Just not even close to what I asked for. The girl acted like she couldn't be bothered. She put primer on my nail & went in the back with her phone for 10 minutes. When it was time for the top coat she just goes, "you don't want the glitter, right?" I was hoping the very faint glitter in the pink would show more after the top coat like it does sometimes so I said "if you don't think it needs it". I didn't know it wasn't going to pop at all. I have been coming here for years and the guy in the front is horrible. I was in one week ago spent over $140 and one of my nails broke so I wanted to get it fixed. He argued with me on the phone that if i did not know which lady did my nails they wouldn't fix it, (I see someone new all the time) so I went in anyway. He charged me "only $5" in his words and asked if i wanted to tip which i was going too with cash for the nail lady so i declined to do so on my card. He then goes and does it anyway and leaves a $10 tip and thinks i wouldn't notice lol. I made him reverse it but that guy in the front is going to ruin there business. I needed a pedicure and my usual nail salon was booked for the day. I pretty much yelped "local nail shops"and MK Nails popped up I checked their reviews and called them. Lady who answered the phone was very nice and was able to schedule me within the hour. There is plenty of parking and they are located next to a CVS. I was attended to by the nail tech named Cindy, she was awesome! She did a great job on my pedicure even took care of a slight ingrown toenail that I had. Y'all should go to Taylor for your nails! She's the best - very detail oriented and patient. I came in late Friday evening and she wasn't in a rush at all even though everyone else left. She really cares and even said she wanted me to feel happy with pretty nails. Side note: it was late on Friday and they made a mistake when doing changes. I realized and called them on Saturday morning. They got my numbers and said they will get back to me after investigation. I went in today to get my gel nails removed and get a new gel set. I had two separate nail ladies taking care of me that day and the first nail lady taking care of me and getting my gel set removed was okay. The first thing that should've been a red flag to me was they just used a nail tip to peel off the original nail set which is damaging to my natural nails as opposed of doing a soak off but the service so far was okay so it didn't concern me much at that point. I told the lady that was removing my nails that I wanted gel for my new set. And then for whatever reason as soon as she finished removing my nails she left and another lady ended up doing my nails. Since the ladies were speaking to eachother in another language I assumed they probably communicated with eachother in between the switch what I wanted so I was not too concerned, I mean if you're switching tasks with someone else I feel like it's common sense to inform the other person what your client requested of you. Anywho this second lady starts working on my nails and she was just very uncommunicative. I'm a very shy person and I usually feel more comfortable when others start conversation and she just did not talk to me the entire time. She literally only spoke to me to ask about the shape and length and that's it. She was extremely rough with my hands and would passive aggressively toss and flick my hands and fingers around while she was doing my nails, again no communication. And she never once asked if the drill was burning or if she got my skin, and both of those things happened multiple times which was very uncomfortable. In between doing my nails she was also checking her phone which was also very unprofessional on top of not talking to me at all. It just made me feel like I was a nuisance during the whole thing. And to top it all off she ended up doing my nails in acrylic instead of gel like I had requested. I left the session really unhappy as my skin around my thumb had been clipped by her carelessness, I had multiple crooked nails, and the shape was absolutely off from the reference I showed her. And for a basic set it ended up being $75 pretip. I have never ever paid that much for a removal and basic set in my life. And there was absolutely no discussion about how much the nails would be at the beginning of this. Their website appears to be broken so there's no online price menu. And to add to that the front desk people keep the menus off to the side instead of right at the front where you can read and be aware of prices. I tried asking for a partial refund because I felt bad I do acknowledge that it takes time and energy to do nails and I asked for at least part of my money back and they also have a no refund policy which must be very convenient for their shady practices with hiding the menus and not specifying prices before starting a nail procedure. They kept trying to talk me into fixing the shape or redoing the set but honestly I just did not have time to do that and I was already so over it based off the way the whole ordeal went to begin with. I really would've just been happier if they gave me a partial refund, not even the full thing just part of it, but they couldn't do that for whatever shady reason. overall just the worst nail experience I've ever had, ever. I would not recommend this place to anybody. A good nail experience should include communication, discussion about prices at the beginning of the procedure, and making sure your client is comfortable with you, all of which was absolutely not happening. Don't let these people take advantage of your time and money. read more

I really consider getting my nails done a huge treat! So when I get them done, I expect them to be better than what I can do at home. I've come here 5x, and I've never had nails done better than home some examples: 1. Came here before a wedding to get a basic gel manicure. The gel peeled the next day (I didn't clean, take a shower, etc. These shouldn't have peeled). 2. Came here for a regular mani with girlfriends (have done this twice). Nails were sloppy with polish all over my cuticles. Uneven polish application each time. Unacceptable. 3. Came here for a pedicure before a vacation. The polish design was cute, but the technician applied the nail polish SO THICK. The center of the nails was normal, but the polish pooled in the sides, and it was so bad. The polish chipped on the first day of my vacation. It was terrible. Now what they do well: 1. The callus removal is amazing. They really get those things off your feet! 2. The free champagne is a really nice perk that I always enjoy. I hope they take this feedback as an opportunity to improve. I have been coming here at the MK nail salon for about a year now, and I have never once thought of going anywhere else. The customer service is impeccable, every appointment they have surpassed my expectations, and the front desk lady is super sweet. Vicky, Jin, Van, and David are my go-to nail techs if you want some Poppin nails. Bring in any picture reference and they will do their absolute best to recreate the art. This place deserves more recognition because they are just the absolute sweetest. I've been coming back every 2-3 weeks and their acrylic nails last long and they're super strong, and upon request, they can make your nail bed much stronger. All in all, this place is a 10/10 rating and this place is the go-to place. Come during weekdays for less busy days !! Any requests, they will do their best also these bad reviews, are merely from people who are impatient and easily irritated with customer service. Recently the service here has been awful and the employees have terrible attitudes, especially Jin! I complained to him about my nails being crooked during the application of arcylics and instead of apologizing and fixing them he copped the biggest attitude and just walked away from me. I've also gotten gel nails done by him and all my nails broke the very next day. He has such a big attitude and I don't recommend him at all. The front desk receptionist aren't great either. No matter how many times I've made an appointment I've always had to wait for atleast 30 minutes to an hour before I'm seen. I called today to schedule an appointment with Vicky because she's the only reason I keep coming back (she's such a sweetheart) and I kept getting hung up on. I'm done giving this place a chance and will gladly take my business elsewhere. read more

I was told by the manager that a manicure is not supposed to last more than 24 hours and that I should've gotten a gel manicure. The picture shows my nails as I was about to attend a wedding 36 hours later. I washed my hands after the restroom, but did not do dishes or anything else that would have wrecked my nails, because of course I wanted my manicure to be nice for the event that I had my nails done for. Visited with a friend for a pedicure. On walking in, I was greeted straight away and asked to choose a nail color. The pedicure seats were large and comfortable with a built in massager for your back. The tubs were hygienic as they wrap it in plastic for each use. I opted for the Premium pedicure which included a scrub and 15 mins massage. The massage was more of an application of lotion rather than a massage. I asked for it to be stronger which she did for a couple of strokes and went back to being mild. The pedicure was good. I had to ask her to correct the slope of one of my nails as it wasn't even which she did willingly. read more

Got acrylics done here before my vacation to Mexico and I loved that they took the picture that I showed them and turned it into a reality. The women were patient, friendly, and gentle. I tried MK nails for the first time today and I am so pleased!! I had Taylor and she did a PHENOMENAL job on my nails. Every little detail is perfect. There really is not one thing I see that I don't like about my nails. She asked me every step of the way if I liked it to make sure she fixed it if I didn't. Her attention to detail was impeccable which makes since considering my nails turned out amazing. She also is the sweetest human! My appointment was at 6 they close at 7 and she stayed an hour and a half over to finish and didn't rush at all. She finished at 8:30 and told me sorry to keep me waiting!
