HORRRRIBLE!! I will never go to twin peaks dentistry again. I have been going to them for over 5 years, however once Dr shirazi became my dentist the quality of care has been greatly diminished. My mouth has never been the same since Dr shirazi worked on it. I have never in my life had teeth pain. EVER. I am 32 years old and I got my first two cavities, they were very minor but Dr shirazi said we should have them filled before it spreads to another tooth. When she was filling one of the teeth she didn't fill it all the way so when they did an x-ray she said she had to redrill the tooth she already filled. Well this severely irritated by tooth and bruised it. For 3 months I haven't been able to bite down on my left side without being in excruciating pain. I've never had teeth sensitivity before this but now I cannot have anything hot or anything cold it has to be completely neutral and just warm. Otherwise I feel it deep down in the root of my tooth which leads me to believe that she didn't fill it correctly again. I went back to her three times to try to fix this issue. Having four attempts to do the job correctly is not acceptable, I'm not going to give her a fifth try. read more

This is my regular office. On Thursday, May 2nd, 2018 I took my Granddaughter in to discuss Invisalign. Dr Shirazi was warm and welcoming and immediately started to examine my granddaughter. Robin and Cierra (could be spelling those names wrong) always greet me with a smile and kind words. They make me feel like they are truly happy to see me. I just came from Dr. Shirazi's office. I am very happy with the treatment. She did my full mouth exam, full set of x-rays, and a root canal. The office was immaculate. Dr. Shirazi and her staff were very nice and friendly. I did not have to wait to be seen. I was sited within 5-10 minutes, which I appreciated because of my busy schedule. Dr. Shirazi took her time to talk to me about my treatment because I was nervous with getting a root canal. The procedure was amazing and I didn't feel a thing. Her fees were very reasonable. Dr Beavers was recommended to me by a friend I trust. When I called to make an appointment to see him, Robin, who answers the phone told me that Dr Beavers is basically just an employee, and that Dr Shirazi is the owner of the business, and insists on seeing all new patients herself. I agreed to see Dr Shirazi. After thinking about it, I decided that I didn't really want to see a different dentist than the one my friend recommended. I called back and tried to explain this to Robin. She interrupted me several times and was so rude, I had to hang up. I was with this dentistry for many years. The dental team including the dentist is nothing short of excellent. My problem is the way the people in charge of billing and coding supposedly did their job. A few years ago it was recommended that I get Invisalign. We checked my insurance and I was assured that my co-pay would be a certain amount. Shortly thereafter the billing and coding person retired and they hired someone new. I believe this person was either incompetent or purposely trying to fraud the insurance company and/or myself. For almost 2 years there was a back-and-forth of this office trying to charge me different amounts for this procedure. In the beginning I was told that I absolutely owed a certain amount which I paid. Fortunately I inquired with my insurance company and they dug deeper and found that this office was trying to charge me different charges that did not apply. In the end I won my case. But of course when I contacted the owner to ask if I can still have dental services they said and I quote 'we don't think it would be a good fit'. Obviously they were upset or embarrassed that they either made mistakes or actually committed fraud. I would recommend you take your business for dental services to someone else. read more

At first I thought it was a good place, but there were just too many things that bothered me over time. 1. They were constantly trying to sell me on Invisalign (literally, every time I went in for anything) 2. Dr Mancuso has absolutely no "bedside manner". I don't need cuddly and warm, but my experience here left me feeling like "why did he even bother to come over". Dr Beavers on the other hand was much more interactive and good at answering questions and offering what seemed to be an honest opinion. 3. I had to cancel an appointment the morning of because my son was sick. This happened twice and they charged me $30. I get it, they have a business to run. I was a patient here for like seven years and they couldn't waive it for me? It was when I had my credit report run to purchase a home and saw a line on the report from them that really put me over the edge. They reported a $30 late fee?!!! WTF! There are just too many dentists around to have to deal with any/all of the above. In general, I think they could clean my teeth well... but why deal with any of the above when there are dozens of local dentists that can keep my teeth clean. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I saw both dentists here, dr mancuso and dr . Beavers. I was seeing Dr. Beavers at first and he made me feel so uncomfortable because he is not personable. I tried to explain something to him and he actually cut me off and it was so rude it made me laugh I couldn't believe it. He is a filling for me where I had 2 small cavities in the tooth. He only filled one of the small cavities on the tooth... So I switched to Dr. Mancuso. I didn't want to leave the office because they already had all of my X-rays on file. Dr. Mancuso was also very strange and not personable. He filled a cavity for me in one of my bottom molars and ever since he did that I've had sensitivity in that tooth. I just didn't trust these dentists at all. They ended up using up all of my insurance money for the work they did and then when I had to pay out of pocket they did not take a percentage of or anything (which my new dental office does and every other dental office does). We ended up paying a lot out of pocket and it was all for poorly done work. Also the cleanings there were TERRIBLE! The lady only used dental floss and she said the stains on my teeth were permanent and she said it's probably from "BAD HABITS". Excuse me?! "Bad habits"? The cleaning also only lasted 20mins. It's funny that my new dental office's cleanings last AN HOUR and they removed all of the "permanent" stains! Oh and they kept pushing invisalign. We pay so much for dental insurance, DO NOT waste your time or money here!! read more

Twin Peaks is the perfect little neighborhood dentist. While I do bring my son elsewhere that specializes in kids, both my hb and I have had nothing but positive experiences here. I'll admit, my interaction with Dr. Mancuso is minimal. He's your no nonsense kind of dentist. Not the sweet and cuddly kind, but the "your teeth look fine" kinda, man of few words. I really don't need sweet and cuddly when it comes to my teeth. I need fast and efficient, since I want out of there as soon as possible. (C'mon, it's the dentist!) I've seen his partner, Dr. Beavers around, but have never had to interact with him. I've heard him interact with other patients, and he seems very nice. Most of my interaction has been with the hygienists, and they are all amazing. I've seen 3 different ones, and they are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and do a fantastic job cleaning. The front desk staff are wonderful as well. They are quick and efficient. Not to mention, they send text reminders for appointments. I'm all about incorporating technology. Parking is always available, and you can always head over to Target when you're done. read more

Can I give 0 stars? I have been going here for over 20 years. Dr. Mancuso WAS the best! BUT he retired, and that's when things went downhill. Let's start with billing and copays, they say what you owe, and you PAY BEFORE you leave. Then 60 days later, they send an UNEXPECTED BILL and say its overdue. WAIT, WHAT, I shouldn't owe anything!!! The last work I had done, there was really no pain, BUT it was RECOMMENDED that I replace ALL my silver fillings. So I let them do it, I was charged EXTRA for desensitization because they were deeper than they projected, and have been IN CONSTANT pain ever since (for 6 months now). When they recommended and did the procedure they knew I was losing my dental coverage at the end of the month (last January). Not only did they get my money TWICE, and my insurance companies money, they gave me pain I didn't have before and now have no coverage to find another dentist to fix what she has done to me. Be careful, find someone else for your dental needs, learn from my mistake!! read more

When I called for my initial appointment, they told me I had to come in the very next day early in the morning to get a cleaning special. I told them I had an appointment mid-morning and would there be enough time and they assured me they would make it work. I again reminded them of my mid-morning appointment and they took me in and gave me the cleaning paying no attention to my next appointment. I had to leave before we could talk about a treatment plan but I assured them that I would get back to them about the treatment plan. I was late for my next appointment. After that they wouldn't take my calls. I called four times and they always said they would call me back or email . But I never heard from them. From this experience I went away with they're broken promise, their rudeness and arrogance. There are plenty of dentist you can go to. Stay away from Twin Peaks Dental... I have to add however, Dr Robert Beavers is as good a dentist as you're ever going to find anywhere. Thorough, great bedside manner, excellent technician. He donates his Mondays to a low income medical and dental practice in Ramona . A very good man... I'm sad to be losing him as my dentist. I went in for my routine cleaning and x-rays and my bill more than doubled what it ever was before. No warning it was going to be so much more expensive. If I could give this place 0 stars I would ... in the time of corona virus they are giving my father such a hard time ( and he's on chemo ) by giving him a set price for a crown and then charging him almost 4 times that amount without letting him know (keep in mind, both of my parents have worked in healthcare for over 30 years and have amazing insurance coverage and would never have agreed to the treatment without getting the pricing first, and would not have agreed to the bizarre pricing. Also, a couple years back, they made nasty comments to my mother for not wanting a dentist to remove my sister's wisdom teeth ( which is a giant red flag- if you can, always have an oral surgeon do it ) and then tried to make me schedule an apt to get mine taken out by them and when I said I needed to discuss it with my parents first, the front desk lady proceeded to tell me, " well you are over 18. You don't need their permission"... this place isn't a dentistry it is a money making scam, we have been going here for over 20 years and they still decide to treat us like this!Smh... Here's a tip when getting billed- ask for an itemized list. Sickening. Plenty of other dentistry's in San Diego ... do yourself a favor and go to a different one. read more

I'm finally getting around to writing this review, after having neglected my teeth due to my last bad experience here. I give two stars for a friendly demeanor and staff, but I did not have a good experience with Dr. Beavers on two of my visits. This was a couple of years ago, when I went in for some work. In the process of routine cleaning, the cleaner chipped off the covering on two of my crowns, in three places, revealing the silver underlining of the crown. She apologized, but said it was a "natural" thing that happens sometimes because of the sonic vibrations, and there was nothing she could do about it. I wasn't happy about all of a sudden seeing silver (the tooth covering was strictly cosmetic, not structural), but decided to bring it up with Dr. Beavers. When I saw him and asked about the damage done during cleaning, he shrugged it off saying "it happens" and not to worry about it too much because it was on the inside of the lower teeth (presumably less visible). I asked whether he would repair it, and he said no. After leaving, and not being happy with this answer, I asked a dentist friend of mine from out of the area. He said that wasn't acceptable, and that they should have taken responsibility for the damage. If nothing else, they should have offered some discount on a repair, or a free repair. Dr. Beavers did neither. When I was later called and asked about scheduling my next visit, I told the receptionist why I would not be returning (at least she showed some empathy), she told me that she would share this information with Dr. Beavers. I never received a call, email or any communication after that. Either expressing regret, willingness to discuss it further, or to resolve it. It seemed like I had found a decent dentist, but in the end, I found one who really didn't have that much concern for good customer service. I've moved on. read more

We used to live in Poway but have since moved, we still choose to drive the extra miles for many reasons, Dr. Mancuso never tries to sell us anything we don't need, I trust him completely, he is thorough and performed my implant with no complications, the staff is always courteous and professional. I agree worst experience ever at a dental office. Neither of my kids liked the office or Dr Mancuso. Also he suggested Invisalign for my daughter which I paid over $5000 for. My daughter hated going there so much that she stopped going after just a few months of useless treatment. When I tried to transfer her care I was told we couldn't. Needless to say I was never refunded a single penny. Since then she has seen two other dentist who both said she was not a candidate for Invisalign because of the amount of work she needs done and that she never should have been told that . Both me and my two daughters have gone here for over a year. I honestly have no complaints and gave my recommend-a-friend card to my sister so she can start going there as well. They make a point of getting to know you as a person and remembering things that you tell time at each appt. My kids are somewhat picky about things and my youngest who was only 3 at the time, felt compelled to hug the dentist after the appt was over! I would recommend this to any adult or parent with children as they are very kid friendly. I wrongfully tried to change dentists because I thought it would make more sense to go to somewhere closer to my house or work. I live near downtown and Twin Peak Dentistry (Dr. Mancuso and Beaver) are in Poway. That was a terrible idea. I tried an awful place called Town Center Dentistry in Santee. That experience made realize how great I already had it. Twin Peaks dentistry is more than worth the extra 15 minutes drive. They have an amazing, friendly, and helpful staff. Super professional and always accommodating in scheduling. Dr. Beaver came in on a Saturday during a holiday weekend because I was in severe pain. He got me out of pain instantly. You can really tell that he is a healer and wants to help people feel better. I don't know what I would've done without him that weekend. The hygienists are super thorough and informative. Their prices are reasonable market rates and they are super transparent about everything. Twin Peaks dentistry is proof that when you find great service you should just stick with it.
