I am a handicapped Disabled veteran and I cannot drive anywhere because my legs are no longer functioning. My wife has three times, on different day's, traveled to the Twin Liquors Store at 5401 South FM 1626 to purchase a very common Bourbon. Each time, with absolutely horrendous customer service told her that they were out of stock! There was also no suggestions on where to go at an alternative location to make the purchase. This is not the first time that this out of stock situation has occurred. If you have a business that only sell ONE PRODUCT, you would think that they would have some type of OUT OF STOCK PROTOCOL. I am no longer a Twin Liquors Customer and I will be taking my business to SPEC'S. My wife drove all the way to Slaughter Lane (SOUTH PARK MEADOWS) and they had 12 bottles of the liquor that I needed! Had an order delivered. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because their website showed a liquor I wanted in a smaller size only but I was ok with that. When it came time to deliver they called and they only had an even smaller size in stock. I know there are supply issues but I wish they would only post what they have available for sale/delivery. If there's an HEB, there's got to be a Twin Liquors nearby. I still remember that fancy phrase from 9th grade biology: symbiotic relationship. You know where the clownfish and the sea anemone take care of each other. This is the clown fish of the Texas strip mall. You can't leave without a smile on your face. Of all the Twin Liquors I've been two, this one is the standard small store with all of the basics. The difference here is that the staff is ALWAYS super friendly. Dora friendly without the dopiness. Employees here are rude and drink on the job. They refused me for no reason, even when I showed ID. CASTLE LIQUOR is much better.

This place is straight up the middle. Which these days is great. It may very well be great but I don't like nice things and I love crappy service. So it may be a 4 star for the average white. I am starting a simple system for rating liquor stores. I feel this is necessary for the good of the community. Can you buy Thunder Bird there?.... didn't check. This is a great store to go to if you enjoy arrogant employees who will volunteer their opinions on why you shouldn't buy whatever you chose, and even argue with you and tell you why you're wrong. The last time (and it was the very last time ever) I went there, I left my choices on the counter and walked out. It was really that bad. I was making the usual hour trek down to Kyle to grill some steaks and catch up with a friend. After searching the HEB section for some higher end wines, I decided to throw the groceries in the car and walk next door to Twin Liquors. Ever get that feeling when you walk past the threshold of a place, something is wrong.... That is the exact unwelcoming feeling I was given, after ignoring that I proceeded to look around. During my stroll through the isles I see an older gentleman with grey hair, owner/manager i guess.. (using the word gentleman and meaning the exact opposite) - I asked him if he had some certain wines in stock, after mocking my picks and calling them "overrated" he showed me his pick, Silver Oak, which by all means is a great wine, but if i wanted that I could have gotten that at HEB next door for cheaper and without an attitude by a much better looking blonde girl that was tending to the wine tastings... hmmmm.. ok.. back on track now... Let's not get me wrong here, I am a big believer in everyone having different tastes and I've had some excellent 17 dollar bottles of wine that can rival any 100+ bottle - But him treating me that way is unacceptable and then after I politely declined his wine offerings and started to walk out of the door with him saying "your wines are "overrated" again! is uncalled for. Sorry, I wanted some Caymus Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 to go with some Awesome steaks and start the night off right... Sorry, I asked the guy for a recommendation of any other stores in the area since I am not from Kyle. Sorry, I.... oh wait, not sorry anymore... walked back to HEB and found a bottle of Michael David - Cabernet Sauvignon Rapture... a grown man using the word Amazeballs sums up that bottle!!! It's soooo conveniently located next to the HEB Plus and Papa Murphy's. They have a discount area with freakishly infused spirits. Basically, crap no one wants to buy. Occasionally I'll find some chardonnay in there. The old guy and the young guy who work there are both friendly and will shoot the shit if they're not too busy. They have a small humidor with the standards: Romeo y Julieta, Macanudo, Montecristo, etc... Oh, and they have toothpicks. read more

Dropped in to get a few things for a party. I was greeted and offered assistance right away. I was quickly shown to what I was looking for. She offered recommendations but wasn't pushy at all. She was so kind that she carried the bottles to the counter for me. As she rang up my order I shared with her the Yelp reviews. How do you ruin an otherwise positive experience? You have a nosey and opinionated employee step in on a conversation between three customers. (11/14/2015 @ 5:45pm) I was very impressed with Marissa, who knew her wines and was very helpful. While at the counter, a customer brought up the incident in Paris this weekend in the context of having bought an expensive bottle of French wine. In this conversation, three customers were lamenting the fact that terrorists came from the refugees that came out of Syria. All of a sudden - heavy-set blonde employee accused the customer of ''hate-mongering'' and ''spreading hate.'' She then went on to rush the customers out of the line and out the door which angered a well dressed man and a man in line who was handicapped and walking with a cane. I found her behavior reprehensible. No matter what it is - if two customers are talking to one another, she has no position whatsoever to step in and bark and accuse customers of ''hate mongering.'' If she represents what Twin Liquors is all about, I say 'no thanks.' No employee - anywhere - anytime -and anyplace - should step in on a conversation unless specifically asked. I personally didn't agree with her liberal ideology - (and few people in Kyle/Buda would) but that was less of my issue than the fact she was so blatantly rude and condescending without having any reason to engage the customers. Stick to selling liquor and leave the opinions to educated people. I will NOT be going back. read more

I am unabashedly a regular patron. I used to not be crazy about the staff, but have recently noted a change. Now, when I go, the staff is friendly and gives KNOWLEDGEABLE recommendations. The "vibe " (for lack of a better word) has completely changed, and I feel like I always leave smiling. Good job on the staff/management changes. read more

I went in to look for a couple bourbons my dad wanted to try as the last item on my Christmas list. I expected just to walk in and look around, as my pleasant but not outstanding experience at other Twin Liquors has been. Kristen saw me looking and immediately started helping me. She made a great recommendation of a Texas bourbon based on what I was looking for (which I bought), and pointed out that they could gift wrap for me. They were busy but she stepped up to the front and did a really good job on wrapping the two bottles I purchased. Made it easy, and the gift wrapping looked fantastic. read more

So I'm not a negative person and I always try to be polite when dealing with people. The lady who manages this place ABSOLUTELY tries to be as rude as she can. I honestly don't get it. You are in the service industry, you are supposed to be polite to customers. I was at GW liquor across the street the other day and mentioned her and the clerk told me that so many people come there and start telling them how terrible she is and they won't go back. Twin liquors has strict rules, which I completely understand and have no problem with. But I just don't understand why she is so so so so incredibly rude. I'm shocked she has a job there. Please just be nicer lady. Really, I wish her the best but I just hope she gets nicer or goes away. I don't think she needs to work with people. Or maybe she would fit in so perfect at the DMV. This place is awesome! They are so much better than they were just a few months ago. They seemed to have cleaned up their act and now have a whole new staff that are friendly and actually knowledgeable. I went in looking for a wine that would pair well with a dish I was making, because I couldn't get any help from the wine person at HEB. So, I have patronized this liquor store for years.... I was turned off when mike (owner) used to make off comment remarks about my wine selections zzz it was clear that he wanted me to spend more money on a bottle of wine. I know wine and I know I can get an amazing red from South America or Spain at a reasonable price... Fast forward to a birthday party.... We ordered a bunch of alcohol and he was really accommodating.... I guess he got that we were dumping a bunch of cash on a party.... Things went well or a while them I walked in there a few months ago... The regular guy who would hold my favorite wine for me was no longer their.. He didn't even know what I was talking about... So I was cool and tried to purchase his fav beer.... Real ale pale ale.... It was the third time that they had expired beer on their shelf... I took the beer up to Ryan and left him know it was expired.... He responded rudely by asking what I wanted him to do with it.... Really? I walked out and went to HEB to get unexpired beer and no attitude.... Fast forward a few moths later... Walked in and saw the same guy working.... Walked out... 2 months later I walked in and saw same guy working.... Went up to the owner and he was short with me about the wine I was looking for..... Ryane was trying to pitch other wines to me and of course I didn't want to even exchange a word with him.....
