We had a few quotes from other companies, which were all AI generated with no description of what we would actually be receiving. There was no soul behind the quotes or discussions on what we wanted to do. No one seemed to care about putting a personal touch to doing business with us. Then we spoke to Jamie Remelts from Knapp Valley. She showed attention to what we were looking for, explained her vision, and shed light on some information on some existing plants we had in our front yard. She seemed genuinely excited to transform our weed ridden front yard for us. The quote was detailed, explained the gameplan, and was a fair price for what we wanted. They also had a stellar warranty offer on any landscaping done, and even though some of the plants we received are struggling, Jamie has assured us if it comes to it, it will be covered and we can receive replacements if it arises. Anytime we've reached out to Jamie, she has been extremely responsive and timely, and has comforted us on any situations that came up. They accidentally knicked our internet line during the landscaping, causing our internet to go out, and offered to provide a replacement wire until we could get the new internet cable installed. They also came to pick it up, and made things right, and were apologetic about the predicament. I believe what matters most, is not how perfect an experience goes, but how mistakes or issues are resolved. And they really made things right on any issues that popped up. We were told payment would be once the job is complete, but didn't receive the invoice for a few weeks. Payment was easy, we just drove to the main store and talked to the front lobby people. If you are new into gardening/landscaping, I highly recommend Knapp Valley Gardens and to ask for Jamie. It is very exciting to see our plants budding, and I am excited to buy more plants from Knapp Valley Gardens to expand, and get our backyard landscaped in the future. I did not realize how enjoyable it would be to pick weeds out of our yard, and watch plants grow!

Stay far away from this company. We hired LHS to build out a bocce ball court, a beach and clean…read morethe weeds from the lake. It was a disappointment from the beginning. Number 1 (Bocce ball court): We paid this company to build a bocce ball court. The bocce ball court was noticeably smaller than a bocce ball court should be. Specifically the measurements were roughly 61to 68 inches in length. A simple Google search would've produced a result in indicating that bocce ball courts are no smaller than 35 feet long. Bocce ball court was incredibly unsafe. The walls were not secured into the ground, and simply fell over as soon as I put a simple nudge onto them. The logs were not in or locked, and they were not connected. They were also not held down into the ground. Also, the bocce ball court was not square and tapered in towards one side. There were lumps all over from not putting a barrier down or packing it. The bocce ball court was not measured correctly in width and had to make several adjustments with our oversight up until 8 p.m. Number Two (Beach): They simply laid the 4X4s on the ground without any stakes and adhering them into the ground. You could simply pick them up and carry them away. Not only did this pose a safety issue. One week after the project was "done" I already have grass and weeds coming through the sand as we found out they did not use an underlayment or barrier. This is not $13,000 worth of quality of work. Further the debris from excavation, including topsoil and concrete and bricks was not removed from the job site. We had to ask for this to be removed and even than pieces were left behind in the job site was left. Other issues: We had to micromanage the whole entire time not only telling exactly what we wanted, which is expected, but also remeasuring for the workers multiple times. Measurements of borders that were laid in the 4 x 4 were not level on both the horizontal in the vertical manner. And the bocce ball court was not severely packed down and level. There were boards missing that were simply packed with soil to fill in the gap which was incredibly unsafe. I should not have to go back and go through every minor detail to ensure it was correct as I am not the landscaper. It was incredibly exhausting and stressful to deal with. Would really appreciate in the future not over extending your services and what your team is able to do as it really just causes stress and unnecessary stress and lost time and frustration on the part of your customer that has to deal with it. Because of the failure to adequately handle this job, we then had to spend along with our family members on a holiday weekend fixing all of the issues and problems that were left behind.

One of the worst experiences I've had with a company in the Grand Rapids Area. I'm posting a email that I sent to the owner of the company explaining my overall experience and dissatisfaction with her company. She (Jonci Warner) never responded to my email. Hopefully my terrible experience helps someone else. Hello Jonci I just wanted to reach out to you about my experience with your company. I'll start from the beginning. I called your company and requested a quote for a drainage issue I was having in my backyard. Brent Lanser came to my house and I explained to him the problem I was having with water pooling in my backyard after heavy rains. We spoke about a couple options and eventually settled on a solution. Brent was personable and professional. He wrote up a proposal and sent it over to a Will Moseley who then emailed it to me April 16. I reached out to Brent personally April 30th to inform him that I was accepting his proposal for the work at my house. He told me that once I signed the work would be put on the schedule in the next couple weeks. I waited and waited and never heard back from Will or Brent. So on June 15th I called Brent to see when your company was coming out. Brent then informed he "Forgot" to schedule the job. You can understand my frustration hearing this considering I paid the deposit in late April and planned on the work being done in May. Irregardless the job was finally scheduled for mid July. Fast forward to the day of the job and the crew began working on the project. I was home until 1ish but had to leave and run some errands. Not long after I left I had your foreman Robert Churchill reach out and ask if I lost internet. Apparently Robert had severed a line in the front of my house. Not long after that text I receive a phone call from Robert saying he'd now severed another electrical line that goes to my garage. At this point I decide to head home and see if I have power in my garage. I come home and find out there is no power to the garage. Robert explains to me that the line he hit was a meaningless telephone line to the garage and the fix would be simple. The crew finished around 5ish and then left. This was on Monday July 13. I hear nothing from Brent or Will following up on the job that was performed at my home. Or the lines that were severed. I eventually call Brent on Friday July 17th wondering why I was never contacted and what we were going to do about the lines severed. In our phone call I was trying to explain the frustration I was experiencing with how no one reached out to me and Brent on multiple occasions began speaking over me. I had to stop and ask Brent who was the customer and how was the person providing service. I don't know if I've ever dealt with someone so unprofessional and rude in a business relationship. If I were ever to speak over a customer while they were talking id probably be terminated from my job immediately. After that unpleasant conversation Brent and Will decided to reach out to a electrician to come out and figure out what was wrong. Now in our emails Brent said he'd pay for the electrician to come and also pay for the damage done on the Companies part. Josh Reil came out and after some digging found out Robert and his crew hit a third electrical line that cut power to my garage. Brent had told me it was only two lines they had severed during our call that Friday July 17th. At this point Jonci I'm trying to understand how these electrical lines were not marked not only in the front but also in the back. Josh forwarded his quote to Will, Brent and I. Almost $1500 to repair what was damaged. Will emailed me a week later saying there was a miscommunication and that harder and warner was not responsible and it was up to me to pay for the work. What was meant to give me peace of mind with water issues has not only turned into a physical headache but also a financial headache.
