I had the most amazing experience at Twill Boutique! We stopped in just before they closed and instead of the expected, "Sorry, we're closing," Audra said, "come on in!" She explained that they were closed but would be happy to let me look around and try anything on. I explained how I've lost 70lbs this past year and I'm needing to replace just about everything. She was so excited for me that she started pulling countless items off the rack for me to try on. I felt like I had the VIP treatment as her and Kendall suggested beautiful items. We were there well over an hour. My husband sat in a comfy chair and was also treated so nicely. I will most certainly be coming back (still losing weight) for more quality clothes. I'm so happy with the half dozen items (including this awesome jacket) I purchased and there are at least another half dozen I'm excited to buy. read more

I so appreciate the customer service I received from Audra, the owner of Twill. She stands behind the items she sells in her boutique. I purchased a sweater there that I had an issue with and she graciously offered me store credit. When I could only find an item 2/3 of the original item, she offered to make it easy for me and just refunded the rest. I wandered into Twill by pure luck today for the first time and I'm so glad, because it's my new favorite store in Portland! I ended up finding so many cute and vibrant pieces, most of which were on sale (and really affordable!!) The two people working there were so helpful. Cute clothes. If my bank account wasn't struggling to stay afloat, I would have been tempted by many of the local designers (including cute bags). They also have petite jeans which is a huge plus to me. It's not generally super cheap, but my sister walked out with a really cute peacoat on sale for $30. read more

Pros. The staff and the owner are fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. The variety of apparel designs are also impressive. They sure do know how to buy fashion. I love how they always seem to have unique items and some impressive and locally made jewelry pieces. It's a small place so items are very limited but very unique. The cons. Prices. I'm not sure who these shoppers are that say the prices are reasonable but in many cases they are not. I am not on a budget but I cannot bring myself to purchase a $170 dress that was made in China. Not that I'm demanding locally made items, but if they were that would actually be a reasonable price. I purchased two adorable dresses (one was $100 and....made in China) yesterday and as always I browse their adorable collection of rings and trinkets before checking out. I picked up a TINY silver ring and was about to buy it when the gal says its $28. It was a simple silver band about a 1/4 of the width of a piece of yarn. Now come on. REALLY reasonably priced too, given that it's boutique. One little quibble: Twill gets pretty limited size runs, but I get it, it's a small shop. And there seems to be a lot of fast product turnover (I mean, I'm sure if I'd been here more than once I'd notice that.) And on the positive, you won't be running into anyone in SE wearing the same dress as you! Well, in your size anyway. I love this little gem. Its not a fancy place, but tucked in a cute hood on Division. The majority of the clothes are local and the price points are amazing. Not one thing over $100 and most items I spied and loved locally were betwen $40-50. I love the southern gal that owns it - she is so good at suggesting flattering wearables. I was impressed by the prices for being a boutique and also the staff was so friendly - even with quite a few people in there and it being one person at the register...she wandered around making actual conversations with people looking at things - suggestions, helpful comments...just wow...very impressive. That is the kind of person who makes you want to buy things. So bravo for hiring someone who clearly likes her job and is very good at it. The store is super cute too with things displayed very well. I had such a great experience at Twill. Audra, the owner, was extremely helpful to me when I called about a purse that I purchased there. It's a beautiful purse that looks like leather, was very reasonable and comes in many pretty colors. The strap started to show some wear so I called Audra. She called the manufacturer and was able to replace the strap for me. I sincerely appreciated all of her efforts and she was super nice throughout the process. Plus, their clothes are really cute. Twill is a cute store that is kind of ageless. I went in there and found a cute top, my sister found some huge beautiful earrings and meantime there were several other types of people shopping - a elderly woman, a plus size woman and a 30 something. A sunny day in late Spring '13, I noticed a new shop about a block my workplace on SE Belmont and decided to walk over and take a look. 45 minutes later, I left with a bag full of cute clothes and found new friends for life!! I can't say enough how much I love this store and the staff. The variety of styles and reasonable price ranges make it hard to leave empty handed. The owner and staff are amazing. They're friendly and know the stock incredibly well. I feel like I have personal shoppers every time I'm there. They are very honest about how things look when you try them on and never encourage you to buy something that doesn't look good. This is a quality I greatly appreciate--we can't see ourselves from every angle, right? They are also great at suggesting styles to fit my body type. More than once, they've recommended I try an item I was less than enthused about on hanger and I've found it looks fabulous. It's dangerous to work so close to store with such awesome ladies and a rapidly changing stock, but I love that I can pop in once a week and they always have something new to browse. Plus, the outdoor sale rack cannot be beat!! I love getting dressed in the morning and planning my outfits everyday and I love to tell people about Twill! read more

I don't shop for clothes often, but I like supporting small, neighborhood boutiques and this one is adorable. One of the owners is usually in the shop and offers great advice on styles and fit. It's a small selection, but I always find something I'm convinced would be key to my little wardrobe! Recently a skirt I bought and love had a seam come loose after just one wash. I went into this shop recently and had the best experience. I bought two cute and cozy wintertime frocks and some earrings and had a nice time with one of the owners who was darling and totally unintimidating. All of her suggestions for me to try on were dead-on (or nearly dead-on) for my style and figure. I'm "petite" in the small but curvy sense and felt right at home in this shop where most items were made in America and tended toward American sizing. That said, prices are very reasonable and a little lower than most boutique-y shops in town. Ladies, if you're on SE Division, stop in say hello to Twill. And if you're a teacher, let them know because they'll knock off 10%! read more

I found Twill when it was at the lower end of Division by Franklin High; now moved to the lower end, yet still retains the same great atmosphere and ease in clothing.
