I always love stopping in here! I've consigned some of my clothes for prices I think were fair, and I really love their store style.

Some good higher end stuff just not enough of it Prices are kinda high. I've seen a few items there that were priced too close to new.

My partner and I popped into Village Merchants on a whim -- and honestly, it turned out to be a…read moregreat little adventure. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how much stuff there was to look at. It's a big, sprawling thrift/consignment shop full of clothes, home stuff, accessories, shoes, random knick-knacks -- all sort of jumbled together in a way that makes browsing feel like treasure-hunting. We found ourselves drifting between aisles, poking through racks and shelves, and laughing at the weird, random stuff -- exactly the kind of spontaneous outing you want when you're with a partner and feeling casual. One review on Yelp summed it up perfectly: "This place has so much cool stuff, I had to really stop myself from buying everything lol." That's exactly how it felt -- part treasure-hunt, part nostalgia-trip, part bargain-hunting spree. What I loved about Village Merchants: * Variety: Clothes, jewelry, home goods, even old/outdoor items -- you never know what you'll find. * Budget-friendly: There were a lot of items at reasonable prices (or even "steals"), which made it fun to browse without worrying about overspending. * Good for pairs: Because there's so much to see and hunt through, it's a fun, low-pressure activity to do together. No rush, no expectations -- just exploring and chatting. Downsides / what to know: * It's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff. Half the fun is digging; half the challenge is picking what you actually want. * Not everything is "dupe-worthy": some items are random, mismatched, or just "meh." You need patience to sift through. My Verdict: Village Merchants is a surprisingly fun little escape for a budget-conscious couple who doesn't need fancy restaurants or parties -- just something chill, slightly quirky, and with a chance you'll score something cool. I'd totally go back again.

Service: friendly staff!…read more Selection: so much from 70's antique dishes, 80's and up. Antique toys, magazines, books, clothes & so much more. Value: I don't know about the value too much. I understand Antique but they has Ducks T-Shirts priced for $35... a bit steep. The only downtown was I bought a western like jacket and 2 rings... and they didn't pay attention to the price tag, as it was marked down from $76 to $62. I had already made it home before I noticed :( There's a lot to do here. Chess, photo opportunities and just tons of browsing! They have an area where you can grab coffee and some pastries & chill. A library you can rent for meetings. Bathrooms are upstairs and are co-ed.

Memory Den Antique Mall oh, where does one even begin to rhyme?…read moreA treasure trove frozen sweetly in time, each aisle a portal, each booth a clue, a maze of memories whispering, "Stay a minute... or maybe a few." You walk in thinking ten minutes will do, then suddenly an hour slips through because every trinket begs a second glance, every relic hums a quiet romance. Pick it up, read the tag, feel the age in your hand in the grand dusty stacks of "oldness," a hidden gem might take its stand. Classy as a Victorian clock and twice as charming, this place earns kudos for disarming. Bring a friend, bring your folks, bring whoever loves the dance of discovery because exploring these nostalgic nooks feels almost like flipping pages of history. It's a quaint little trip through the past, a daydream dressed in antique lace and shine; a cute way to spend the day, strolling backward through time, where even a forgotten story feels suddenly worth a dime.

Vast selection, the best vintage in Portland! When I visit, I plan on at least 45 minutes because there is so much to see! I walk around the entire footprint then turn around and walk the other direction because different items will catch your eye. If you are seeking an occasional chair, they have so many styles and cool pieces. Wish I had room for more! They just don't make these styles anymore or of the same quality. They usually have a large selection of couches also in shades of teal, orange, avocado just like on The Brady Bunch. Even plaid, if that's your thing. And of course boomerang shaped coffee tables to complete your seating area. There are so many unique one of a kind pieces too, like an upright piano transformed into a bar. OMG, I wish I had the space for it! What I always have room for is unique bar ware and glasses and they have lots to choose from. Lots of metal and sculptural wall art which really gives a room personality especially when complimenting paintings or prints. They have a large selection of table lamps but it's the hanging pendants that I really love. Perusing this store ignites so many memories! I see items that take me back to my childhood home, pieces I haven't thought about in years. My face lights up remembering a curved side table, a Sputnik light and metal flower wall art similar to what adorned our den. Or a set of whiskey sour glasses like the ones my dad drank from, prints on pillows that are in photographs in my family album. Furniture that over years made it's way to our basement and then probably a vintage shop like Hawthorne Modern! Love, love, love this place! They moved to SE Alder but the charm, the selection, the finds are all still there!
