Shane and his team came and installed pot lights in one room and a ceiling light in the other bed room that they sourced and brought over. The whole process was relaxed and enjoyable, we were given options on the items we wanted installed. There was no clean up for my family at the end of the renovations. And we can't tell that anything was done Becuase the walls where they cut the holes for installation is clean sealed and painted for us. We also had our washroom fan installed, from the old noisy one, to this new quiet and high quality fan that makes little to no noise, and really takes out the smells. They fixed our kitchen sink when we asked, I didn't know this service was available! They installed dinner switches all over our apartment, and installed the lights in our kitchen and family room. Short version- professional, knowledgeable, great problem solving!…read moreLong Version- David demonstrated patience and problem solving in the extreme for an ongoing and challenging electrical problem in my son's bedroom. The breaker was intermittently and frequently tripping. We had paid another company 2 years prior, over $1000 to rewire my son's room including running new lines form the basement breaker because they couldn't seem to isolate the problem. We thought it was fixed, but 2 years later, the problem started again. The other company was too busy to come back to deal with the work they had done, so based on a referral, we called David. He tested everything, and was quickly able to isolate the plugs that were causing the issue (something the other company never did!). He suggested we leave them disconnected for a while to see if this was the cause of the problem. He was right! Because all the other plugs were working fine for the past 2 years, we never got around to calling him back to rerun the wires for those 2 plugs until this year, when we noticed a terrible smell coming from an outlet on the other side of my son's room. After opening and disconnecting the plug, he determined that there was probably a dead animal in the wall! David was kind enough to help us cut out the drywall to see what was there. For safety, he also disconnect all the other plugs on that line. Once that was done, he further helped us to open the wall, where we discovered a very smelly and disgusting mess! Squirrels had chewed a hole through our roof, got into the exterior wall of my son's room, then chewed a hole through the cement board and got into the insulation in the space between the cement board and the drywall. While they were in there, they also chewed the wires and electrocuted themselves. David went above and beyond in helping us to open up the wall and make sure we got everything out (4 dead squirrels- yuck!). He also made sure he disconnected all the plugs connected to the chewed wire on our upper level. He has now rerun all the wires, checked that it is all working. For insurance and safety, he also called an inspector to check everything. He will be reactivating the the plugs where the wires were replaced once the drywall is redone. He will also send pictures to the electrical inspector for final approval. We are very grateful that we finally had an electrician who was willing to stick with us to fully figure out the problem and fix it! We would highly recommend his services to anyone!

He sent out one of his electricians John. Very friendly, very professional. At the time, my kitchen light switch was arching. John said it was a loose ground, 15 minutes worth of work if that. John said he had to bill me the minimum service charge of $150. I paid for it in cash. The next time I went to use the switch was the next morning and it was still arching. I reached out to John who said, I apologize for that, I think the dimmer switch is faulty. I will make arrangments to come back and replace it. A week later, John comes back, with a colleague in tow. Dimmer switch changed out. I asked, how much do I owe, I said I would be happy to pay for the new dimmer switch. He said I owed nothing as he should have switched it out on the first service call. I thought, great guy, honest, trustworthy and professional against his workmanship. Positive experience. Two days later, I get a text message from his boss. I did not respond as I was taken aback by the request for an additional $150. I reached out to a family member who is a tradesperson and asked how I should respond. His advice was to pay for the dimmer and not the service call. This is exactly what I said to Mike. His response was, his normal service call is $285 plus HST. The dimmer switch would be $110. I paid. Transparency is what was missing from this experience. I think if John and Mike were on the same page in terms of customer service and pricing, I would not have taken the time to write this A-OK review but rather a 'Woohoo'.

The way Peter spoke about the work, the level of detail he provided, and the thoroughness of his explanations gave me confidence that this was a professional operation, so I decided to move forward. When they arrived at our home, they were very polite and took steps to protect the house before starting any work. They had clear procedures and you could see that they followed a system throughout the job. As they worked, there were multiple checks along the way to make sure everything was being done properly. Procedurally this company felt very different from what I expected based on my past skepticism about the industry. Their transparency also helped build confidence. They showed us before and after photos of the ducts so we could clearly see what had been inside the system and what had been removed. Our home had clearly accumulated years of dust from previous owners, and it was impressive to see how thoroughly they cleaned everything. They placed floor mats/sheets to prevent dirtying the floor. They suggested the best filter to purchase for our unit, taking into the consideration the size of the home and if kids or pets were present. They tested the unit after installation. And they did their best to clean up after the job was done. And later on, the owner came to inspect to ensure that everything was done properly. A1 business. They return your emails and phone calls in a very timely manner. They not only service our immediate town - but anywhere else in the surrounding GTA.

We got a quick and very reasonable quote from Surrge. Our condo board also required some information from/about the electrician in order to approve our renovation request, and we were able to get it promptly from Surrge as well. Once we got the approval, we were able to schedule a time for the electrician to come within a few days. On the day of installation, the electrician was available early and we were asked if he could start 2 hours prior to the scheduled time. We didn't mind one bit and it turned out to be a good thing. I guess we weren't clear about position of the electrical panel from the laundry room and how wires would need to be run in the ceiling to get there, but the electrician (Mike) pointed this out and said unfortunately it would have to be more than what we were quoted. Mike explained why, what would have to happen, how long it would take, and said it would be up to us if we wanted to proceed. He was very clear and friendly. No pressure what-so-ever. We proceeded and he ran to Home Depot to get some materials since he was expecting something different. About 45 minutes later he returned and started working. He tried his best to keep things neat and tidy as possible...and tried to keep the number of holes he would need to make in the ceiling to a minimum as well. He left the pucks to help with the drywall repair as well. Overall, the work was relatively quick, and we were very happy with it all. Afterwards, we were contacted with the final cost breakdown and paid online. Mike then contacted an inspector and scheduled time for him to come back and check on the work. He called to let me know immediately, and reminded me on the morning of the day the inspector came. The whole team is very professional and courteous. We will definitely be using them again for future projects, which we chatted with Mike about so that would could get some ideas about what's possible, etc. while he was here as well.
