I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I just walked in as a new customer. I had gotten my…read morenails done out of state at a different salon and during travel 1 broke. I understand fixing a nail is not an ideal service but could be a way to potentially get a new client. I work 5 mins away. Upon entering I was told by Jenny that she could fix the nail but it wouldn't match my other nails because of the chrome color on top. I told her that was completely fine and I understood but asked her to make it as close as she could. She first insisted I had gel x which I 100% did not have. I told her if that was what she could do though, I was fine with that. She seemed very annoyed and I was happy to get what I could. She proceeded w the gel X and I asked how long it typically lasts since I've never had it. I got an attitude and "I don't know because ive never done your nails" as a response. I'm sorry but you're a nail tech and you don't know the capabilities of the product you sell and work with daily? I said well acrylic typically lasts about 2 weeks is it about the same? She said yes, so you do know? Next she painted the French w no bottom coat other than clear and added the chrome and again with an attitude said see it looks different. Fully expecting it not to match 100%, I said well yes she put a nude color as a base to the French. She then said they use a pink base for French to which I replied well could you use a nude instead? She huffed and puffed to the nail color bar and came bank and proceeded to paint on funny bunny as a base to a French. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! I said just take the fb off (before it dried) she then got even more pissy and told me she couldn't do it and that I was done there. Must be nice to be the owners family and be able to treat new customers like that. Sad you're a nail tech and don't know how to do a simple French. You don't paint the white on a clear base. I mean talk about manicure 101. Time for a new profession. And maybe don't talk about clients in another language because the word Arizona (where I originally had my nails done) is the same in every language and it's obvious. Unless you've been going here for years these ppl can't help you. I'm disgusted.

After years of over-plucking my brows (hello 90s!) and some martial arts blows to the brow area, I was left with patchy and mismatched brows. Filling them in was the bane of my morning makeup routine and I inevitably was left with two fuller but still obviously mismatched and oddly-shaped brows. After an initial consultation, I made an appointment. I was nervous, mostly because it's a semi-permanent FACIAL tattoo. If I didn't like the results, there'd be no going back for quite awhile. Gina was patient with my nervousness and REALLY listened to what I wanted, and added her professional opinions of what would work for my face and how brows can alter your look. Gina's attention to detail was key in getting exactly the ***perfect*** brows for my face. I got up front the chair and it looked like I had had a face lift! My friends were floored in the change in my before and afters. Prettyology provides detailed instructions on before and after care for microblading, and has a beautiful salon on Newbury Street. I visited this salon in June, and 6 months later I am still dealing with the damage that was done…read moreto my hair. Out of respect for the stylist, I will not be sharing her name, however I feel I need to share what I have been dealing with so others don't go through the same experience. I went in for a full foil - a process that this stylist had done on my hair before, in addition to balayages and other processes involving bleach. I was at the salon for hours, which was abnormal, and walked out with hair damaged beyond belief after spending about $300. The underneath layers of my hair were melted off, and the rest of my hair was snapping and breaking off in clumps, to the point where I could hardly even comb my hair with a wide tooth comb without losing significant amounts of hair at a time. My roots were uneven, I had a large stripe on the back of my head, other areas had color banding, in addition to the irreversible damage that I had never experienced despite getting bleach processes done regularly for about 8 years. After this visit, I contacted the salon about my concerns, and the owner agreed to look at my hair. She told me it looked fine and that the damage was not as bad as I thought, despite the fact that she herself had never dealt with my hair before. Only after I repeatedly expressed my concerns did she agree to tone my roots, and I walked out for a second time with hair so damaged and nowhere close to what I had requested in my initial appointment. I then went to visit a different salon in the area, where the stylist that helped me informed me that I would likely be dealing with the repercussions of this damage for at least a year, if not longer. At this point, I contacted Allure again to get my money back. Despite getting my money back, I have spent a significant amount at this other salon trying to fix it, yet I still experience a lot of breakage that I never dealt with before my last appointment here. If you are looking to get a blonding or bleaching process here, I strongly suggest to look elsewhere. The damage that was done to my hair here was devastating, and has lasted for months with no end in sight.
