This place popped up right over the town line in Lawrence very cool decor cool twist with the umbrellas for the overhang and also next to some restaurants, easy parking . They serve Hershey's ice cream and Horchata's decided to get the strawberry for my daughter and a chocolate milkshake for myself to touch with a chocolate milkshake adding some syrup in there on the side really gives the chocolate a good pop if you're in the area definitely recommend a small place worth your time to check out.

What I love so much about this place is the variety of exotic homemade ice cream flavors they make. I love all the local favorites like Richardson's and Hodgie's, but Old Towne offers flavors you just don't find everywhere else. With my love for global cuisine and unique flavors, this place always hits the mark. On this visit, Cheryl and I tried a couple of their specialty flavors, and boy, they did not disappoint. The flavors were fresh, distinctive, and danced on the palate. If you love ice cream and want to try something a little different, take yourself over to Old Towne Ice Cream in Rowley and enjoy a sweet treat you'll be talking about long after the visit. They offer around 20 ice cream flavors with interesting ingredients, similar to Salt & Straw ice cream, plus waffle cones, waffle bowls and sundaes. They also sell several flavors of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream pints & quarts including special limited edition flavors like Maren Morris Orange & Vanilla Swirl. In 2024, the limited edition Sabrina Carpenter Espresso ice cream sold out very fast. I stopped by Van Leeuwen in Peabody after dinner. The friendly staff member offered me free samples of ice cream before I decided to get the Goodest ($9.60 plus tax) choice of 3 flavor scoops in a cup. I got the Earl Grey Tea, Vegan Summer Sweet Potato & Marshmallow Fluff and Sweet Corn & Blueberry Jam. They do not accept cash at checkout, but they have a cash to card converter machine in the back. There is limited seating inside the shop and outside patio tables & chairs in front of the store. I enjoyed the interesting flavors I chose for my dessert, not overly sweet, but light with robust flavors. The core flavors of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream are also in stock at my local Walmart in NH, but I still enjoy going to an actual Van Leeuwen Ice Cream scoop shop for the experience and a nice treat.
