OMG this library is so nice and new. *Heart eye emojis" I stopped by in order to do some work after a doctor's appointment nearby and since it has a few books I wanted to get. I was so surprised walking in! It's a really new facility and it has a ton of computers and plush seating, tables with outlets and a lot of study rooms. I was able to reserve one for two hours with the help of a librarian and took my conference calls from there. High ceilings, airy feel, lots of space and well-maintained. What's even better is that there's a Creamistry, poke place, and a 7 Leaves across the street!!!! Not to mention Cream Pan and Afters less than a half mile away! You could stay here all day. If I'm in the area, I would definitely make this my workspace. Yay libraries!!! read more

Beautiful open library full of resources. I recently used the Memory Lab and was blown away at the equipment available. I have bags of camcorder video cassette tapes and pictures and was able to work through 5 or 6 tapes, digitizing them and saving them onto a hard drive I brought with. There was a binder with step by step, clear, instructions printed to convert your media, but there were also "how to" videos on the computer available that really helped me feel comfortable working through my projects. They had equipment for 8mm, super8, pictures, negatives, documents, vhs, s-vhs, thay I can remover and potentially more I cant! read more

5 stars not because it is 5 star worthy but because this is probably the best library in the area. I've ventured far and wide in search of a library in this area of OC that I would be able to get some decent studying done and this is probably the best you can find. there are quiet sections (come in turn left) with desks to study and read, if you have 2 or more people you can request a study room, the AC is always on pretty strong so bring a jacket especially if you are going to use the study rooms the AC is even stronger in there. WIFI sucks though! Pretty nice staff and a pretty clean library overall the bathrooms always have weridos in them though! not sure why but they ALWAYS do read more

The best library in Irvine. Yes, I realized that this library is located in Tustin. Until Irvine decides to use it's wonderful tax payer money to build a massive new library, I recommend trying out the Tustin Library. I know you maybe be scared to travel north of Red Hill, but trust me this is worth the drive. I actually surprised by the number of low reviews. Honestly, I read them all and nothing they said made sense or relates to an average educated person. Pros: QUIET!. Its is quiet, just avoid the main library entrance, teen, and children area. -Quiet room for studying -Study/ Tutor room. Perfect for a middle school or elementary school kid to get help with homework. I'm not sure if they cover high school, but if they do I could use a review in basic calculus. -There are lot of chairs around the outside of the building. I love that most people will read or use their laptop on these chairs. This leaves the tables for people that need to study :). -Well lit with natural light. I can see my beautiful reflection on my glossy laptop screen. -Clean and new. -Outside seating area -Plenty of outlets for your laptop at most chairs and every table. -The library is quiet. I hard concept that a lot of kids today were not taught. -Ideal place for studying. -Free wifi. -Computer Lab. There are classes on how to use a computer. -A/C. So nice. Cons: Computer area is always packed. There are some 20 plus computers. Not a problem bring a laptop. -Sometimes people around me smell like smoke or other stuff. (rare) -Not really a con, but I'm iffy about leaving my stuff at the table to go to the bathroom. In Irvine or Newport I would probably risk it. I came to this library to study with my boyfriend. The library is nice, very spacious, and there is lots of natural lighting, which doesn't make you sleepy. There are lots of private study rooms as well. As I was doing some work, it took a long time to get on the internet. The internet is TERRIBLE here and sometimes, it won't even connect. Takes awhile to get from one page to the next. I would come here to read or study, but not to use their wifi to do work One thing that I do love about this library and would give just this section 5 stars would be the area where they sell books. I am a teacher so I am always looking for books and they sell children's books for 10 cents! What a deal! Make sure you bring cash! read more

And that is entirely true, the vast majority of the items we observed inside were books with a low amount of electronic material like DVDs. Inside the bookstore there was only about 50% of the quantity of DVDs and CDs available compared to the Katie Wheeler Library. We just bought a few books inside the bookstore. The person there was nice, but also rather by-the-book and bothered me for looking inside their back room. They seem to be happy taking donations, since I brought a huge donation here a long time ago and there were no complaints about it. It's close to Old Town Tustin so one can walk here from where all the Pokéstops inside Old Town Tustin are as well. read more

I honestly can't remember the last time I was in a public library, must be close to 4 years now and that was most likely just a visit to pass time. However my visit to this library may change all that! This library is huge compared to some of the others in the area. When you get your card you are allowed to keep your books and DVDs for up to three weeks at a time. That gives me plenty of time to finish the first novel in the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series (I want to ready the books to get caught up to the Game of Thrones series before it starts back up in March). If you are looking for a good read, need some Internet to use (I swear the elderly gentleman sitting next to me at the comp was browsing 9gag), or even want a DVD to take home, then come check this library out! read more

Well, the bigwig doesn't like the honesty of my words, so I'll have to change them. Hands down, the worst library in the OC system. Complete lack of respect, thought, and common sense for those concentrating on work in the adult and computer section when the rugrats have their morning (maybe other times of the day, too) music sessions. You'd think somebody (oh, I don't know, maybe the director) would put up a barrier between the kids section and the rest of the library, or at the very least, a sign warning patrons that their patience and ears will be tested. Also, they keep this place just about at freezer room temperature, so bring your parka like many do. Modern facility, but lacking outlets for charging devices. And the latest addition is the religious cult outside harassing patrons. Yeah, yeah, we all know...they apologize for the inconvenience. read more

So disappointed in the library. I've been coming here for years. Never really interact with the staff as I reserve my books, pick them up and self check out. Today, however, I had to interact with the gentleman at the front desk and it was not a pleasant experience. A few days ago my puppy ruined my borrowed book. I went and purchased the identical book at Amazon and brought it in to replace the ruined one. He refused to accept it saying folks have tried to defraud with replacement books. What?!?! Seriously?!?! Said I could donate it but it wouldn't replace the identical book. Then he proceeded to charge me $27 to replace a $14 book. So disappointing. read more

I really like this library, or I did until my holds started disappearing. I often have books and DVDs shipped from other libraries to this one, since I live nearby. It's great that they do that without charging, by the way. But they put all the hold items on shelves that are accessible to the general public, and many of my items were not there when I came to pick them up. "I don't know why people steal them since everything is free to check out," one of the librarians said to me as she returned from a fruitless search. Later, I looked closely at a DVD and saw that they do not have any anti-theft features. Either put the holds behind the counter or put RFID tags on stuff. To whoever stole my items: I hope you break out in an unhealable unsightly rash all over your body. read more

Great library however the WiFi is terrible ! It will take ages to load web pages so definitely not a good place if you're looking to use this. Orange Public Library has a great WiFi signal, so I have to go there when I need to study with a strong connection. Otherwise, the library itself is beautiful and clean. Good evening, This is a wonderful library so I am giving it a five-star review but in return, I am hoping someone will answer my message/be able to help me out. I am trying to get in contact with the social media coordinator for the library. I have a book that went past due two days ago. I am going to vacation to Hawaii tomorrow and I stopped by to return the book tonight and I cannot get to the drop box as it is closed for repairs. I also cannot go to www.ocpl.org as the website is not online. Please advise as to how I can get my book back without getting charged more/contact you guys as I am kind of stuck at this point. Great library, specially for small kids as 1/3 was built just for them. After repeated complaints they finally added desktop mounted outlets, no more crawling on your knees to plug into a trapdoor in the floor. Good luck if you were in a wheelchair, definitely an oversight of the ADA by the architect and the county. Biggest issue is the WiFi, everyone that walks in with a WiFi smartphone is immediately connected reducing available bandwidth. No signal repeaters means you're out of luck if you're sitting at the extremes of the building. When full the WiFi is constantly dropping weak connections in favor of new logins. Best times for using it is during the first couple to last couple of hours they're open. Other than that you can be connected with nothing going on at all until you're dropped. I'm half convinced someone has figured out how to hack the router Admin and turns off connects for their own benefit. On the bright side there are plenty of public internet PCs, over 50 total for adults, teens and kids. With a library card/account you can be on one for up to two hours per day with extensions, if no one's waiting with a reservation. It would be nice if they made the private "Study Rooms" available to less than two persons at a time... especially when they aren't in use during the mornings kids are in school. The staff does a good job keeping the permanent guests awake and not trying to live in the place. Something I didn't see mentioned are the outdoor spaces at this location. The large enclosed patios and adjacent picnic area and city courtyard are great during the summer and for planned events. read more

The kids area is spacious and they have coloring, puzzles, blocks and other little activities. PROS: It's not nearly as crowded as any of the Irvine libraries! We were able to actually get seats and plenty of outlets for our laptops!! I saved myself $4 bucks by not having to go to Starbucks. They have these programs where you can win prizes and stuff all in an effort to encourage reading during the summer. Very interesting! CONS: Don't bother asking any questions to the dude with the stache working the information desk. Ask the lady...WAAAY nicer! Saw her very sweetly explaining to family in front of me with somewhat limited English skills how the summer reading program worked. Very thorough and seemed to get the kid very excited about joining. Now that's service! Then jerk off came back from break and dammit, I'm next in line. It was a simple question really followed by his terribly condescending response. WTF! Methinks he should go on a permanent break. Will I be back? Absolutely! Will I ever ask that dude a question? Never. And you shouldn't either. For that, they get 4 stars instead of 5. I believe in quality service and I don't care if you're paid or a volunteer. If you're there on your own accord to do a job - then do it. read more

I come here mostly to get DVD's. They've got whole seasons of I Love Lucy, other shows too & old classics like An American In Paris, Hitchcock films & lots &lots of newer stuff like Gladiator, 5th Element, The Mummy, Catch Me If You Can...PLUS they've got cartoons like the old Micky Mouse cartoons that I remember watching when I was a kid...I miss those. Oh and if you want to see something in particular, go on OCPL.ORG cuz you can search for it in the catalog & it will show you at what branch it's at...so you can either go there, or choose to have it sent to that branch & pay a quarter....its usually cheaper to do that than to use the gas to drive to a further branch. read more

A very nice, spacious library with tons of room to study. There isn't a wide variety of books available but since I mainly come in to study I don't mind. They have study rooms for group study sessions or quiet rooms for anyone who wants to just study, complete with tables and chargers (both USB and plug chargers). They have sections for children, teens, and adults, each with their own seating area and tables for the children and adults. The adult tables are really great, with individual lights per table (which seat about four) as well as charging ports. What I really love about this library is that it has a ton of windows which lets in a lot of natural light. It's always bright and makes me less groggy. Every time I've been the wifi has been good, which was great since I had a ton of online homework. They also have a friends of the library bookstore (a used bookstore) built into it which I really loved because not only was their a ton of variety and the books cheap, but they were very well organized. Overall I love this library and will be coming back to get studying done. read more

absolutely love this place. If you need an alternative place to study, this is your spot. Sometimes, Im too lazy to drive to campus, and sometimes I dont want to pay for parking at other college campuses, and sometimes the library at certain campuses are horrible. If you said yes to any of the above, come here! Parking is easy and usually open. The place is clean, and most importantly...QUIET! There are outlets all over the place if you need to plug in your laptops, there are desktops available for use, lots of tables, and most importantly...a PROPER STUDYING ENVIRONMENT. In addition, you are also allowed to use there FREE WIFI service. GREAT PLACE TO STUDY! Will definitely be coming back if Im too lazy to go to campus...or just need a place to be away. I like coming to this location! While my fiance was studying for his license exam we would come work/study together at this location. It offers small conference/study rooms which is so convenient to block out the outside noise. Service is amazing, staff that work here were quite friendly and always willing to help! Library is kept keep and organized - I usually judge places based on the cleanliness of the restrooms and they are kept tidy. There is ample amount of parking space available since it has a private parking lot. Right across from the library - in the shopping complex there are good food and coffee places so one can easily walk across and grab a bite to eat. read more

Wonderful library. I arrived at 10am on a Friday right when it opened and was surprised to find quite a few people waiting outside. We were let in and most of the people went straight to the many computers available so there was still plenty of free study tables. Free wifi but you have to have a library card if you want to surf the internet on one of their computers. The library was very spacious and clean. My only complaint is that they have no solo study tables, so you do have to be open to sitting next to other people. It's okay tho, I don't stink!! Each study table sits four and has four outlets so you don't have to worry if you have phones or laptops to charge! I think that this is a great place to spend your time studying or reading. There's a plaza across the street with plenty of restaurants and coffee/boba spots for when you want a study break. Gen kbbq, Wahoo's, Kean coffee, 7 leaves, and the list goes on... After I grabbed lunch, I decided to try out the 'quiet room' and found it to be extremely quiet and it helped me to get a lot of work done. It could vary depending on who's in the room but it's obviously not their fault if inconsiderate people decide to go into a "quiet" room and decide to make lots of noise. There's also a cute outdoor patio area with comfy seats if you feel like reading in the fresh air. Wifi was very fast except for a few times when it became super slow and I had to refresh but it would start working again... I would definitely come back and think that this is one of the better libraries in the Tustin/Irvine area :) The only way you'd get a better studying place is if you're going to UCI campus or Newport/HB area. read more

As people have mentioned, it's pretty posh for a library and I love the skylights and the sleek, modern design of the place. I think a lot of people go here to use the internet and relax...I would too if I lived closer. My local library is so awesome! Everyone I have encountered from the staff are really pleasant. I don't come here to study or anything like that, just to peruse the books and find something interesting. When looking for a random book, I can spend hours in the library. If my library doesn't have a book, I go on line to see if another library has the book and place a hold on the books and they email me when has arrived- easy peasy! Yes, the AC works and I am thankful for that! I'd rather be cold than hot any day. read more

I love love love this library. I've gotten so used to small Irvine libraries that when I came here, I was happily surprised. They have a separate room/lounge for Teens! I wish I had known this when I was still in high school. They also have a few study rooms that you can reserve for group projects/meetings. Not only that, but they also have a quiet room for adults. I know a library is supposed to be quiet but sometimes there are just days where the place seems a bit rowdier than usual...no problem! Put yourself in the quiet room. They have nice outdoor patios and even more tables outside the building. I also noticed they have another lecture room that they sometimes hold movies/demonstrations/lectures in. Plus, this place has lots of parking which is always great. Their Friends of the Library bookstore is a great place to browse for books as well. It's not as easy for me to find books to purchase there as it is for me to find books/puzzles I like in other Irvine library book stores. Nevertheless, visit the bookstore and support your local libraries. I come to this place during my lunch break at work to relax and look through the books. It's such a calm and peaceful place to take some solace in during a hectic work day. Books are so calming and reassuring and this library offers a great space for books and for people to come to. It always amazes me how much money are in the pockets of Orange County residents.. This library is a testament to that. Fully renovated, clean, lots of study areas, adequate lighting, what more could you want? The only downside for me is that their wifi isn't reliable. Other than that, I love coming here to study! Also, MAJOR bonus points for having padded seats. Studying 7-8 hours a day is so much more enjoyable when the seats are nice and comfy! read more

Modern, nice... super chic. Certainly a place to check out before you stop by Kean's right across the street. If libraries could be bougie, this would be the 'cover girl' library. Clean, New, seriously nice. They have big study rooms and tons of computers. They have two self check out stations and some very nice librarians. I believe they share the parking lot and courtyard with the police station next door. They have plenty of parking and I believe they even have an out door seating area for those who enjoy reading outside. They have a nice collection of graphic novels and biographies alike. You're likely to find a best seller or classic here, for sure! read more

...I get weird vibes from this place, and not just from the creeper who was following me. It's "nice", but almost TOO nice. It's like a Stepford Wives, suburban neighborhood. I completely understand if people enjoy studying in a quiet, clean environment w/ way too much combination of natural & artificial light, but it just seems way too fake for me. And their collection of books....SLIM. I had ~6 books on my list once, and none were listed. They're not just checked out; they're just not there. WHAT? No Kundera?! sigh. No books on piano theory/performance?! sigh. There's a ton of room to be filled on their empty shelves. I much prefer the library of a college campus. Okay, I don't know why I am so stoked about this library. I'm not even from Tustin! But compared to my hometown's library, Upland Public, this place has it going on! First off, it is literally brand new. It looks modern, has a ton of computers, free wifi internet throughout, and tons of outlets for hooking up laptops and other electronics. Second of all, there are tons of different study and seating options. You can sit at tables, on couches, bean bag chairs, study rooms; you name it, they probably have it. Thirdly, it's location in Tustin is perfect. It's central, close to freeways, near Old Town, and is within walking distance of several shopping centers with coffee shops and restaurants in case you need a study break. Finally, the place is actually used by people! It's nice to see that even on a Sunday, when it's only open for five hours, there are people young to old streaming in and out. I can't wait to go back and keep exploring! read more

The last time I was in Tustin Library, it was down the street and very old - 2009. Now it's a brand new, the nicest library around. I really love the layout, and the bright natural light from all the floor to ceiling windows! Very good feel, and LOTS of nice chairs to sit and read. Lots of electrical outlets too. Gotta come here and check out the wifi ! Great selection of books, and lots of fiction books too, and not in tatters like in Irvine Heritage Park library. Where has this library been all my life!! Tucked in old town Tustin, this library was built in 2009. It's huge, clean, and well organized. They seem to have a good selection of books, and I even found a book that came out in the last 6 months there! Those who visit the public library often know this is a rare find. People there were a mixed bag, everyone was calm and peaceful. read more
