If you want bad service come here! My family and I have been here multiple times, every time our service has been horrible. Their food is good but that is the only good thing about this place (hence the one star). Our waitress seemed very lost, frustrated, and confused the whole time. We had every single glass and plate we accumulated from bar drinks, refilled cups, and appetizer plates and dishes on our table the whole night. We ordered our drinks, my grandpa ordered an unsweet tea and when he ordered he asked for sweet n low, about 15 minutes later she brings it back out. After he drank his tea he had to ask for another and a good 15 minutes go by whenever I had to stop her as she was walking past our table for about the 4th time and ask her to bring a tea back, she did. The owner walks around to tables and asks how things are and every single time I have been there he stops at every table but our table. He looks over as he walks by but never stops to see how things are but he makes a point to talk to everyone else. I find that extremely rude. I think the servers in this establishment are extremely un experienced and have had no training on how to be a good server. We have given this place many, many chances but are continuously disappointed. We probably will not be returning, sadly. read more

We decided to try Tuscano's after getting recommendations from friends, and we were impressed to say the least. The restaurant ambiance is great and quite attractive. The food was absolutely fantastic. We arrived around 6:30 and had a 20 minute wait for a table on a Wednesday evening. I do not know if they are always that busy or not, but the service was somewhat lacking. Once seated we waited another 7-8 minutes before our server came by and brought water and bread and took our order. The food arrived quickly after placing the order though. All three dishes (Tuscano's Pasta, Chicken Artichoke Pasta, and Glazed Salmon) were all delicious. The cannoli's were quite good as well. We will be going back again for sure. read more

This is real Italian ! Not afraid to use garlic ! Try the old world pizza. This is the best thing that ever happened in Buckner. We will go back and will update the review. They have a great east facing patio which should be great in the warm season. read more

We discovered this lovely restaurant recently and have since been there twice. The owners have done a beautiful job of creating an Italian restaurant in the middle of a small town including a wood fired grill constructed by the owner. They make their own bread and pizza crusts. I am a fan of their Greek Pasta. My husband is a spaghetti and meatball fan. Delicious. The staff is excellent. Friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend. read more

First time there last night and will definitely be going back. Decor was nice and the food was fantastic. I had only heard high praises about this restaurant and it lived up to my expectations. Lots of sauce options to choose from. Waitress was knowledgeable and said any sauces can be switched out for others. I had the penne pasta with mushroom sauce and chicken. Highly recommend. Great al fresco dining option, and there aren't many of those in Eastern Jackson Co. I love the location and the owners' loving renovations they have made to this historic building. The apple feta salad is good. Our group enjoyed their meals, but I would not recommend the eggplant parmesan. Way too much bland breading coating too-thin slices of eggplant and covered by a hard shell of cheese, all served lukewarm on a small plate. I was expecting some nice thick slices of eggplant, maybe some extra marinara on the side. Maybe it is pre-made, not homemade. Order anything else for your entree. read more

We've been here twice. The first time, the pizza was awful, but the meatballs in our son's kids meal were enough to come back. We gave them a second chance this weekend. I ordered the chicken marsala, and it was AWFUL. Dry, overcooked, bland chicken topped with a "sauce" that was basically (canned?) mushrooms in water. I ended up making a meal out of my side of broccoli (deliciously buttery and garlicky), the two bites of chicken I tried (I only ate a second to be sure the first awful bite wasn't a fluke), the side salad (decent but nothing to get excited about) and bites stolen off my companions' plates. Bad meals happen even at the best restaurants. It's what came next that makes us never want to return. The waitress didn't check in with us again until it was time for the check. (She dropped off our three meals and never came back. They were busy, so I understand, but I could have told her what was going on before it was time to pay if she'd come back by.) She looked at my plate, and said, "Uh oh. You didn't like yours, did you?" When I told her it was tasteless, dry and way overcooked, she apologized. She told us that sometimes she's had the best chicken she's ever had but other times, she's had what I had. She left, and we saw her talking to the owner. He shrugged. So obviously my nasty chicken wasn't his problem, and he wasn't going to do anything to try to fix it. Apologize, offer us a free meal for next time, not charge us for that one, offer a free dessert? Nothing. Not even stopping by to chat with us. She came back with our full check (including the inedible chicken) and apologized again, saying, I quote, "I'm sorry you had such bad luck tonight." That's not bad luck. That's bad service. The least they could have done is offer us a new plate or a new entree. Or an apology from the owner. That would have been nice. My son's spaghetti and meatballs were again good, and my husband's lasagna was also good (note that it comes out to your table molten hot, so give it 10-15 minutes to cool before taking a bite or risk injury). Maybe if you stick with the pasta, it'll be OK. But with that customer service, we won't be back. I don't go to restaurants to "try my luck." I go to eat an edible meal. And for customer service that tries to fix it when it's not. I hope they enjoy that $11.99 they saved last night because they're missing out on us coming back every couple of months for a long time. There are far too many good Italian restaurants in Eastern Jackson County that don't make you try your luck. We'll go to those ones instead. read more

We recently moved out here from St. Louis and read the review of tosconos in feast magazine. The service was excellent, food was received fast and was delicious!!! We had a Caesar salad and The tosconos pizza. Vegetables on the pizza were flavorful and very fresh! Even the bread and dipping oil before dinner was delicious!! Will definitely be back!!! read more

After reading all the great reviews for Tuscono's, my expectations were high going in but quickly shattered when a plate of oil with bread was given to us. There was hardly any spices in the oil at all. Not very appetizing. I ordered the chicken spiedini and it really was awful with parts of it not cooked all the way through. It didn't appear to have been rolled in bread crumbs like classic spiedini and the sauce appeared and tasted like plain old Italian dressing instead of a buttery garlic sauce normally used. I also ordered a side of fettuccine alfredo which was incredibly dry. The sautéed spinach was sub-par and mushy. All the food came out separately with the spiedini not being received until about 5-10 minutes after my sides. The saving grace was the Caesar salad. It had a good flavor but a few rotten leaves of lettuce were present. The only reason I'm giving them three stars is because my husband liked the lasagna, but I'm afraid my appetite for this place is permanently ruined. I just don't like raw chicken and do appreciate our server removing this item and the mushy spinach from our bill. For the money, one would fare better at Cascone's or even Original Pizza in Blue Springs. If you don't live nearby, don't bother. read more

Heard good things about an Italian place in Buckner, so two of us went there for lunch. I had the chicken, sausage, and shrimp pasta dish, and my wife had the ravioli in vodka sauce. First off the "homemade" bread was bland and cold. No butter was served, just a bowl of Italian butter (their version). Olive oil, a few red pepper flakes, but no cheese! My pasta was very good and flavorful, however my wife's ravioli appeared to us like the frozen, store-bought variety. Sauce was OK. The waiter asked how it was. When my wife responded that it was only OK, the waiter offered to replace it with ravioli and red sauce. The red sauce was like the bread, bland with no flavor. read more

Buckner may not leap to mind as a site for a great restaurant, but Tuscono's has not disappointed, and we have eaten there at least ten times since it opened a little over a month ago. This place is a joke. First off, no reservations on weekends. I guess they can't rely on the trashy clientele to show up but figured the owner would have shown some discretion considering we had a party of eight. So we show up at the dump at 7 and wait until 7:50 to be seated. Good time to mention that there is no lobby for guests to sit down while they wait. We just stood in a hallway while obstructing the path of servers and bussers trying to do their jobs. We're told we would be getting a private room. That lasted about five minutes when they started letting others in the private room (our table in the center and other tables surrounding the perimeter of the wall). I was a bit stressed by this since that's the direct opposite of the word private but the patrons they were letting in our "private" room were regular folks just trying to get a bite to eat. Then they let the drunk morons in. We had a table of about a dozen middle aged DRUNKS behind us. They were hammered before they came in. Of course they acted as you would imagine any belligerent drunk would act. Singing, yelling, cussing (cunt, fuck, cocksucker, etc.) while the employees are looking at each other not knowing what they should do. My brother finally asked the owner, Kirk, to intervene and control HIS restaurant but he didn't have the testicular fortitude to make that happen. Kirk asked them to keep it down a couple of times but being as this table had zero respect for him or his restaurant, they didn't comply. After the meal, I had a word with one of the managers on duty who told me it wasn't Tusconos fault that this group of sloppy drunks came in. Dismayed by her useless excuses, I snapped back by telling her it is her fault to not do anything about it after the fact. I guess they cared more about this one table then they did about EVERYONE else in the room. We were not the only table that complained about this dumpster fire of an experience. Oh yeah, the pizza is GARBAGE. I've had frozen pizzas with more flavor than the monstrosity served upon us. Truly disgusting. The only good things about this wretched trash of a restaurant was the bread & olive oil along with the sliding barn door in the "private" room. read more
